I'm not there yet....almost... so far 13 months and counting! I did get pretty huge though.

2 years. Back up again now because I’m lifting weights. I’d try not to pay scales too much attention.

Whowhatwherewhenwhynow · 11/06/2022 22:09

With my first I dropped to below pre pregnancy weight by 6 months. With my second…well she’s 6 and I’m still growing

Vsirbdo · 11/06/2022 22:11

About 4 months but I did do weight watchers quite religiously and it was first lockdown so I didn’t have temptation from going out for coffee, meals out or just popping to the shop as we were onto doing weekly shops so I think all that made it easier plus DH was home to help with the sleep deprivation

I would say though that my body has changed and the weight didn’t necessarily come off the places it’d gone on

Hyvsvaar · 11/06/2022 22:13

Hahahah…18 years but it was only about 10kgs and three kids

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 11/06/2022 22:14

Migraineroundthebend · 11/06/2022 22:15

Yeah sleep deprivation has definitely hindered progress, along with ineffective breastfeeding Hmm bloody useless big breasts!

Very quickly back to pre-pregnancy weight, certainly by 6 - 8 weeks post-partum BUT my body felt completely different, shape-wise, especially after babies 1 & 3.

In particular after baby #3, my muscle tone was shot, I felt like a pancake, felt clothes weren't right.

I'd always run but took up HIIT & weights, about 18 months afterwards I felt properly myself again.

(In terms of the weight loss, I didn't put on too much, under 2 stone, and didn't have to try to lose it. Just genetics & breastfeeding - so luck rather than any effort).

About 5 months, then lockdown hit and I gained 2 stone. 3 years post birth im now 10lb from pre preg weight

Yep!

Three months after child two- but I put in a lot of effort. Lots of walking and used My Fitness Pal religiously. Having said that- when I turned forty ten years later the weight is starting to go on again 🙈

Nothappyatwork · 11/06/2022 22:30

First child in my 20s it took me less than 48 hours to be back in my jeans I don’t know what I weighed though.
4th Child in my 30s it took me nearly 2 years

eddiemairswife · 11/06/2022 22:34

In less than 4 weeks for all 4 of them. I don't understand why some women put on so much weight during pregnancy.

Cos women are different?

Janedoe82 · 11/06/2022 22:38

I put on one and half stone with child one and nearly four with child two. Lost the weight with child two much quicker. I didn’t worry too much about what I ate and assume a lot of it was fluid.

EarringsandLipstick · 11/06/2022 22:40

@eddiemairswife

And on that note, my best friend used to put on a lot of weight in pregnancy, from early on. It was just the way of went for her. She really hated it - even though she looked great.

She also found that she couldn't really lose the weight until she stopped breast feeding. She would then really diet / exercise to get back to her normal weight.

We had our DC all about the same time on each & I know it used to drive her mad that I put on less weight & was back in usual clothes more or less immediately.

Different people; different experiences. It's not hard to unstable

EarringsandLipstick · 11/06/2022 22:40
  • to understand. Not 'unstable'
TheChosenTwo · 11/06/2022 22:43

18 years and counting 😂
in all honestly, I don’t know what I weighed before my first dc but I was a size 6 and I’ve never been below single figures in clothes ever since.
And I genuinely don’t give a fuck!

Overwhelmedandoverworked · 11/06/2022 22:44

Between dc1 and dc2 I didn’t - still kept a stone on and wasn’t motivated as I knew I wanted another child. After dc2 it took about 6 months of concerted effort to get there

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/06/2022 22:45

About 2 months. Put on just under 2 stone and breastfeeding got rid of it quickly despite eating loads. My shape carried on changing for a while. Without changing weight I lost 2 inches off my ribs when she was 18 months, very odd. My hips look wider than they used to but I fit my old jeans, not sure how, I’m just a bit different all over.

TheNinjaWife · 11/06/2022 22:49

I went from around 50 kg to 83 kg. (5 stone weight gain!)
two months after the birth of DD I weighed 60 kg. Then I got food poisoning and got down to 48kg about 4 months after her birth. I stayed like that for quite some time. She’s 35 now lol. And I’m quite a bit bigger but still slim.

TheNinjaWife · 11/06/2022 22:50

Oh and to add. Breast feeding! The weight dropped off.

Summerwetordry · 11/06/2022 22:52

Baby born in the morning. Weighed myself in the afternoon and I was less than before I was pregnant. I went home in pre-pregnancy jeans. Now is entirely a different matter!

Ragwort · 11/06/2022 22:54

That doesn't work for every woman TheNinja - I breast fed but sadly the weight didn't drop off!

Yes, my shape changed around my ribs too, was odd!

Overall I was happier with my shape after DC; I was ultimately slimmer. Initially not in a flattering way as I lost a lot of muscle tone but once I'd started training again, that got sorted.
