Kids TV characters you’d slap if you could?

We’ve just started watching Fireman Sam here so this thread has been inspired by Norman Price. What a wanker.

I can’t work out if it’s more or less painful than Paw Patrol. Why does an entire town (including it’s Mayor?!?!) need to be continuously saved by a ten year old boy?

I can never get behind the Bing hate personally.

So… Kids TV characters you’d slap if you could?

I am obviously older than most here, but when DS was young and really into Sooty ABC etc . I REALLY hated Soo.. her voice used to make me want to commit murder..

(i probably would have strangled then all tbh) ..

Then later on.. just dont get me on to Lady Penelope and flippin Parker.

and then there's bloody Aqua Marina........

Loved Ramsbottom and Butch from Sooty and Sweep however

Was it the Perishers who had really irritating voices

mum2jakie · 10/06/2022 19:30

Perfect Peter - little brat!

ivfbabymomma1 · 10/06/2022 19:36

The entire case of peppa pig...

Pip and Posy are pretty high maintenance in my eyes... but I guess you would be if you didn't have any parents or guardians.

stickybear · 10/06/2022 19:55

Yakka Dee! Aaaargh

Minesril · 10/06/2022 21:43

Raa raa. It's the way he waves his massive head around. Once you've seen it, it cannot be unseen.

Norman Price is Sam's secret son. It's the only explanation for why he keeps saving him.

After DS1's obsession with paw patrol I'm hoping we can skip it with DS2. The episode where they all get wings - literally taking sky's thing!! - made me irrationally furious.

I love duggee, Sarah and duck, numberblocks and octonauts. There's a bit where Tunip is watching barnacle's videos about what to do in an emergency which i find hilarious!

MissDollyMix · 11/06/2022 08:06

Definitely agree with Raa Raa and Horrid Henry’s parents. Also, you just know that underneath the smiley lovely facade Topsy and Tim’s mum is a right cow. She’s be the type to start an AIBU where she’s being totally unreasonable and then not take on board anyone’s points.
Mind, my children are older now and I miss the days of kids tv. We have wall to wall YouTube now and some YouTubers just make me what to rip my eyes out.

TuttiFrutti30 · 11/06/2022 08:15

Does anyone else find that dog puppet Dodge on Cbebbiies incredibly irritating? He's just awful.

Also - Bing, Nanny Plum/Miss Rabbit

On the flip side, we recently discovered the Nick Cope Popcast and he's great, so chill and easy watching

anotherneutralname · 11/06/2022 08:25

I cannot believe so few mentions of Upsy-bloody-Daisy! Oo let me just flip my skirt up and dance, that’s not inappropriate AT ALL. And the fecking Tombliboos - just keep your trousers ON, nobody is impressed. Everything about the night garden made me murderous.

Ikeabag · 11/06/2022 08:56

Laska that's taken me back, I used to watch Stingray reruns - I wanted to BE Aqua Marina! If I watched it now I'd probably find her intensely irritating. Wasn't there a fiery redhead in Thunderbirds? My brothers had the metal vehicle toys and they were deadly in the wrong hands, heavy and pointy. Way more satisfying to hold than plastic crap.

Mammyloveswine · 11/06/2022 09:58

I fucking hate Bing!!! Such a whiny little shit!

Pavlova31 · 11/06/2022 10:01

Barnaby Bear.So smug and that awful whiny voice.

Mammyloveswine · 11/06/2022 10:01

Pando too...whipping off his trousers wherever he goes like it's fucking acceptable?!

Mine and DHs favourite episodes are where Bing drops his ice cream and when he stands in dog shit. We laughed so hard!

Tangoes · 11/06/2022 10:03

Topsy and Tim.They are too wholesome for words.

SarahAndQuack · 11/06/2022 10:14

Luna Petunia. DD currently loves it and every single thing about it makes me want to inflict violence. It has taught her to correctly identify petunias (the flower), so she can strike up conversations with elderly ladies buying bedding plants in the garden centre. But that is the only non-negative thing about it.

Also Peter Rabbit.

I agree with whoever said Mr Tumble's Aunt Polly character is abysmal. I honestly don't get how that still gets made, I've been to more politically correct amateur panto.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 11/06/2022 10:20

Masha. The bear should eat Masha.

Ah yes we love Nick Cope here… even if the songs stay in your head forever. At least singing “Ralph is a rusty robot” for a day saves me from bursting into “Xuli is the pilot with the power and the speed!!!” all the live long day.

Maybe I watch too much CBeebies.

@ReeseWitherfork for me it's 'I've lost my bobble hat...'

tobi21 · 11/06/2022 19:09

can we also talk about the "toast" song, find myself singing this more times than I'd like to admit BlushGrin

Trinity65 · 12/06/2022 00:45

MrsMoastyToasty · 10/06/2022 16:27

PC Plum from Balamory. He couldn't police anything. I hope his superiors have put him on a performance review.

😂😂

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 12/06/2022 02:40

PC Plum is so very obviously a criminal infiltrator. Pretends to be the good guy attempting (and conveniently failing) to solve all the crimes that he's actually committed himself.

We always used to change the words to his impromptu songs, where he would boast about all the good and helpful things he was (supposedly) doing (e.g. "I'm PC Plum - I'll keep you safe now":

"I'm PC Plum - I mugged your grandma"
"I'm PC Plum - I burned your house down"
"I'm PC Plum - bribes keep me friendly"

His surname also helps a lot when trying to find a rhyming word to adulterate adapt his main song.

BaileysAndNachosDontMix · 12/06/2022 07:33

Horrid Henry

my DD started to copy his bad temper/ behaviour after watching that little shite

The program was banned from our house that very day

Horrid Henry is misunderstood. His parents are cruel to him and obviously favour his whiny, annoying, sneaky little shit of a brother. And they don't care that he knows it. What incentive does he have to be good? Maybe I'm overinvested

HunterHearstHelmsley · 11/06/2022 10:20

Masha. The bear should eat Masha.

There's a theory that Masha is based on Putin.

HereIAmBrainTheSizeOfAPlanet · 12/06/2022 12:31

I hate Duggee. Why would you leave your children in the care of someone who can only say, "ahwoof"? The squirrels are all awful little bastards as well.

Peter Rabbit is terrible. Every episode is "let's go steal some radishes." Is stealing ok now?

I've never watched the Peppa Pig show because just seeing her face gives me the rage.

I have just got back from cbeebies land and hotel. I never want to see a children's TV program again. Migraine inducing.
