Kids TV characters you’d slap if you could?

We’ve just started watching Fireman Sam here so this thread has been inspired by Norman Price. What a wanker.

I can’t work out if it’s more or less painful than Paw Patrol. Why does an entire town (including it’s Mayor?!?!) need to be continuously saved by a ten year old boy?

I can never get behind the Bing hate personally.

So… Kids TV characters you’d slap if you could?

Is Mr Bloom still going? I've borne a grudge against him for years. He was doing some sort of bizarre dance session with toddlers at the Hampton Court flower show. I bet my teenage DD £20 she wouldn't get up and dance with them and she called my bluff.
I could really do with that £20 now

Bing. Hands down

SpaceJamtart · 10/06/2022 17:11

I dont mind Mr Tumble when he is being Mr Tumble or Justin on something special, I like all the makaton and know kids who love it
but Aunt Polly and his Gigglebiz characters are horrible.
Why does Aunt Polly have to pronounnce everything in such a gross way and what kids are relating to the creepy 80s PE teacher on gigglebiz

You should watch the adult versions of Fireman Sam on YouTube - it’s shows Norman in a different light - definitely not safe for work thou…..

Hallyup89 · 10/06/2022 17:17

Not a character, but Giovanna Fletcher does my head in. Anyone that calls their kids Buzz and Buddy shouldn't be allowed near kids.

RussellTheLoveMuscle · 10/06/2022 17:28

Bella from Tweenies needed slapping silly.

Blueshimmer · 10/06/2022 17:29

Padget from Bing. Totally ineffective wet blanket “parent” of the kind that just stands there and goes “oh do play nicely darling” while watching their kid behave like a prat (the swing episode springs to mind).

hashtagjubilee · 10/06/2022 17:31

Anyone said caillou yet?

wishingchair1 · 10/06/2022 17:38

Dora's parents and probably dora. why didn't they just give her a lift or walk her.

iklboo · 10/06/2022 17:40

Horrible fucking Henry
Mr bastard Tumble
Iggle shitting Piggle
Max & Ruby - the pair of them. He's an annoying little twerp and she thinks better than she ought
Norman Pyromaniac Price
Bella up herself Tweenie is an irritating brat

dadadeedadada · 10/06/2022 17:40

I would never get tired of bouncing peppa pigs smug face off the pavement, and you can throw in Bella from the Tweenies as well.
Get what your saying about Norman price, when I was forced to watch fireman Sam I'd have bleeding lips from all the biting, I wanted to scream, nail him to a fucking tree and they won't need fire and rescue anymore. Can't talk about paw patrol, after my time, thank fuck.

Still trying to get my head around the fact that Bluey is, apparently, female.

Why? She speaks with a girl's voice? None of the family (or their friends) look distinctively male or female, so you just have to go on how they're introduced/named/referred to. Surely it isn't just because she's 'a boy's colour'?!

I can agree with a lot of the Gigglebiz characters being irritating, but leave the minstrel in the Robin Hood sketches out of it - he is fantastic!

Bungle was a deeply annoying, smug goody-goody, but if you see what finally became of him after his long downward spiral into the 'once-were-famous' abyss, you'll feel more than vindicated!!

I used to hate creepy Sporticus with a passion. Something not quite right in his relationship with Stephanie.

Noooo not Sporticus! Although I’m only tuning in for the songs TBH, can scrap the rest of the episode.

Padget from Bing is indeed slap worthy. How did she even get a job as a beanbag babysitter?! No control over Pando. Amma doesn’t stand for any of their shit, she’s brilliant.

Never watched some of these shows, sounds like I should be glad I’ve missed them!

I think Keith Fit has been thrown in for the adults entertainment. “I’ve been running for over twenty yeeear….”

Aunt Polly is awful. She makes my skin crawl.

Peppa and her family belong on a roll with HP sauce.

MintyGreenDream · 10/06/2022 18:09

Daddy Pig is a patronising cunt

MalteserGeezee · 10/06/2022 18:11

Everyone in Bing can just get to fuck. Norman Price is a prick. I hate everyone in paw patrol except Zuma, who is the most consistently overlooked pup, EVEN WHEN THE EMERGENCY IS WATER-BASED

God, I feel so much better for getting that all off my chest.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 10/06/2022 18:12

Horrid Henry's parents. Talk about golden child and scapegoat...

Toddlerteaplease · 10/06/2022 18:28

Being on a 12 hour shift when the patient nearest the nurses station has bloody Peppa on a loop Is torture!

To be honest I don't even know. I thought it was a child's voice - not specifically male or female so never twigged until I read about it on MN. Also, a recent episode showed Bluey weeing against a bush, the way a male would but most females probably can't do that, anatomically speaking. I know it's a cartoon dog but even so....

ReadtheReviews · 10/06/2022 18:34

Bing and friends. Peppas grandparents. Topsy and Tim. Robert the Robot.

Laska2Meryls · 10/06/2022 18:34

I am obviously older than most here, but when DS was young and really into Sooty ABC etc . I REALLY hated Soo.. her voice used to make me want to commit murder..

(i probably would have strangled then all tbh) ..

Then later on.. just dont get me on to Lady Penelope and flippin Parker.

and then there's bloody Aqua Marina........

Laska2Meryls · 10/06/2022 18:35

its been 30 years.. but even just thinking about them has given me the rage!!

Horrid Henry's parents are absolute bellends. No wonder he's so horrid, they treat him terribly

WildFlowerBees · 10/06/2022 18:38

Steve from Steve & Maggie. Irritating git.
