23 guesses
Very similar to another recent one which was disappointing!

Breathmiller · 12/06/2022 18:46

I solved today's Redactle (#67) in 25 guesses with an accuracy of 36.00%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Well I'm shocked i got this. Googled the last guess for the first word but even so, this is not usually my topic even with Google.

BigBadBoom · 12/06/2022 18:48

I solved today's Redactle (#67) in 4 guesses with an accuracy of 100.00%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Nailed the area on the first guess 😁

Andante57 · 12/06/2022 18:49

I thought the inventor of the game allowed plural/singular to count as the same but evidently I was wrong……

GrouchyKiwi · 12/06/2022 18:54

Dreikanter · 12/06/2022 18:36

Not my thing at all but knew enough from marking DC’s revision exam papers.

Ah, my children are too young for this kind of stuff. I certainly don't remember it from my school days either. Grin

Fifthtimelucky · 12/06/2022 18:58

I'm giving up on this one after 18 guesses - which is much earlier than I would normally give up.

I have the second word in the title and the first three words in the article and already know there is no way I will get it!

GrouchyKiwi · 12/06/2022 19:01

I needed Google help again once I got to the point I realised I wouldn't get any further to work out the first word. This was a term I hadn't heard before.

I solved today's Redactle (#67) in 47 guesses with an accuracy of 51.06%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Yes, there's a significant clue if you know anything about this subject..

Etinoxaurus · 12/06/2022 20:14

Good for the subject for me!
I solved today's Redactle (#67) in 23 guesses with an accuracy of 39.13%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Another one I had to google after getting the second word

Had to Google as this is definitely not in my memory.

gillybombilly · 12/06/2022 23:18

I solved todays Redactle (#67) in 15 guesses with 76.78% accuracy.

Much happier today than with some of my latest efforts.

I floundered around for a long time having forgotten to check one of my usual 'area' headings. Once I had the topic I got lots of words I'm aware of but ended up googling for the first word.

Cooroo · 13/06/2022 06:49

Andante57 · 12/06/2022 18:49

It's an option you can turn on settings. Also my phone looks for plurals if I hit 'enter' but not if I hit 'guess'.

Redcrayons · 13/06/2022 07:00

I’m getting a bit fed up with it being this topic again. Not my area so had to google.

I solved today's Redactle (#67) in 149 guesses with an accuracy of 32.89%. Played at www.redactle.com/

the plural thing never works for me, even when I switch it on. I’m playing on my phone though so maybe that’s the difference?

rosegoldivy · 13/06/2022 07:21

Please tell me how some of you manage to get it in like 20 guesses 😭😭

Breathmiller · 13/06/2022 07:24

You need a brain like Errol's (and not like mine 😁)

Andante57 · 13/06/2022 07:52

Cooroo · 13/06/2022 06:49

Thank you for that Cooroo. I will adjust the settings accordingly.

Because sometimes you get lucky and there's a massive clue linking to something you know about. I've done it under 10 twice, on similar topics. Its also taken me more than 300 guesses to find Beagle and 280ish to get Skirt...

ErrolTheDragon · 13/06/2022 08:31

The automatic plurals don't count the word just once, so it's annoying if you get a plural by accident that you didn't want. Before I realised that hitting Enter rather than the guess button gave plurals, I had a WTF moment when, entering i in a mathsy-looking piece, 'we' appeared as well.HmmGrin

In addition to looking for clues (including thinking hard about oddities) and counting letters, the other thing is to not hurry to put in non title words if you're pretty sure of them, unless you need them to help you make sense of more of the text. I shouldn't have bothered putting in the overall subject area today.

Andante57 · 13/06/2022 08:54

Errol, I’m being stupid but I don’t understand this.

InMySpareTime · 13/06/2022 09:10

@Andante57 the word and the plurals all count as guesses, so while it will fill in more of the text it adds to the count of guesses it took to get there.
Eg in the example above, typing I with plurals on would add two guesses, I and we.
