Civil unrest? Protests? Are they on the horizon?

Anyone else utterly fucked off with all parties and The Royal Family?

To me they are a disgrace it is embarrassing. I was reading yesterday about some parents going without meals to feed their children. People asking for help with menu plans to feed a family of 4 on £20 a week! I am furious! What a shit show! Labour are no better, distracting from the fact they have no ideas by continuously going on about the shit show that is partygate. They are all immature, rich out of touch knobs! The Royal Family are no better. Unelected, powerful simpering idiots! I can feel my anger growing by the day. The Jubilee is brilliant timing for them as again another distraction. Anyone else?

My DC is also special needs in a specialist school. Maybe we are seeing it before the masses do??? They have had to halt diagnosis of ASD and ADHD in our area due to lack of professional's to assess. I am so worried about my dc future once we pop our clogs, it gives me sleepless nights. The disabled have always had a rough deal.

The fact that those that are entry level workers that are crucial to everyone’s lives they are pissing all over is very worrying! Those people on minimum wage that are caring for your elderly relative or collecting your stinking rubbish are struggling now. They are just as important to society as a CEO in a large company if not more! what if they go on strike?

I am sorry you are dealing with that @Worriedtodeath1 and I identify with being fearful for the future. This does not seem any more to be a country that wants to protect its most vulnerable. I am very angry that the people caring for my DS are on minimum wage; it is a skilled job. But it shows how these essential workers are disregarded.

'Partygate' has also shown up the utter contempt the Government/Establishment has for ordinary working people. Imagine being one of the cleaning staff at No 10 at that time, being treated with disrespect, having to clean up the wine stains and vomit after one of those parties and knowing you can't even see your own family members let alone have a party like that yourself.

Let’s not forget those cleaners were cleaning up keeping them safe during covid. Trying to clean to keep those people safe from covid. Putting themselves at risk, whilst they were using work as an 18-30

newnamethanks · 25/05/2022 19:47

Yes, OP, so does the government which is passing legislation to criminalise such action. Hurrah for Democracy and the Rule of Law, spaffed up the wall by Bozza and his grasping cabinet of spivs, chancers, charlatans and his circus of willing clowns.

Expecting anyone who was in the Bullingdon club to worry about cleaners or those doing that important job is like asking the earth to stop going round the sun!
Don't give a shit.

I said to DH earlier "when are the riots happening ?"
It feels like Johnson could kill a kitten live on TV and would brush up off and get away with it.

I have been so angry about him for so long.

1963andbewildered · 25/05/2022 19:57

Has anyone else actually emailed their MP about this shower of shit government?
I would definitely riot if the MPs end up brushing off what has been happening in Downing Street and telling us to move on !!
Bloody shocking and it’s our kids who will have to shoulder the financial fall out for decades!!

StridTheKiller · 25/05/2022 19:58

How the tone has changed since I asked this question earlier this year...

I did over Cummings and another one and just got the copy and paste move on line.
I’ve not bothered again, it’s not worth my time or theirs.

I'm beginning to feel that if Boris Johnson did harm an animal ( which I don't think he would by the way, so it's all relative ) maybe then people would stop apologizing for him and his cronies.
Its about the only way people will stop with the ' his only human ' bollocks ive heard on local news programmes! Most humans followed the rules back then , they didn't at all. End of.

I did over school closures, fat lot it did though. Labour MP anyway.

I agree re financial burden for our dc.

But Boris loves dogs, loves them so much that Carrie's mate got an empty plane to himself with his rescue dogs for a priority flight out of Afghanistan while Afghans, whose lives were at risk for working for Brits, were left behind to the mercies of the Taliban. So don't worry about the dogs.

I work in Recruitment and this quarter there are more vacancies than there are people unemployed. First time since records began. Wages are rising too although not as fast as inflation.

If we get through September without any disorder, I doubt it will happen. It's a warm weather phenomenon.

And hoping for an October election won't help. Given their performance in the locals, Labour are nowhere near forming a govt. Starmer needs to go, and be replaced by someone with charisma and broad-based moderate appeal. Or at least someone who engenders trust.

Yes, I've heard the same regarding employment and according to my partner who works in the service industry, it's because all the immigrants are gone. My question is, where are the British people who were so desperate for these jobs?

I care less about the royal family but every day at the moment I want to go and protest outside Downing Street about something. Reading the news today just made my blood boil when I saw what the report found.

This country desperately needs a labour government and at this point I wouldn't care if Basil Brush was leading them, they'd still get my vote.

newnamethanks · 25/05/2022 20:18

Yes, emailed my Tory MP. Was surprised by his moderate reply that did not support Bozo.

TwinklingFairyLights · 25/05/2022 20:18

I don’t think so. High unemployment tends to be the tipping point, which we don’t have

I think this is the concern. Higher prices for businesses means less investment. I have a couple of friends in recruitment, they've been booming for 18 months but it's suddenly gone quiet. Hiring freezes and rumours of redundancies. That doesn't include those on zero hours contracts having their hours reduced.

TwinklingFairyLights · 25/05/2022 20:21

Let’s be honest, when you say that you hope they aren’t on the wrong side of a bill they can’t mean you actually hope that they are

Yep. Sadly seen so often on here.

CoCoBeBe · 25/05/2022 20:24

Not sure about riots but maybe an organised 'nobody pays their council tax' until changes are made. Goes to show how corrupt and above everyone else they are and nothing will change unless everyone gets on board together. Trouble is people are worn out from all the stress from 2 years to get together and do something bold and brave

In general, no. The sort of people who riot aren’t the sort of people whose children will make a net contribution.

I think the Royals need to be reading the room a bit more and keeping a bloody low profile. What exactly ARE we celebrating?

And it's not just Liz, Will, Kate et al. It's all the fucking hangers on, second cousin Viscount Lord whatshis face who has never worked a day in his life, landed gentry, laughing his arse off at you plebs working in the NHS /education / customer service.

Read the room? Liverpool fans were absolutely slaughtered for booing their stupid song only last week. We're a nation of forelock tuggers.
