Traumatised or not Sofia still had the emotional capacity to enter into an emotional affair which then turned physical. She voluntarily participated in the flirtation and didn't give a shiny shit about the kids involved.
The facebook groups were set up initially because the UK government sponsored charities hadn't at that point got their act together. So folk (Ukrainian and potential hosts) took to SM to advertise themselves. It was literally like a dystopian
tinder/ebay. Single guys were chastised for being predatory, young females were being warned about pouting and posing in presumably pre war photos and single guys accused of being cowards fleeing army service. On top of that hosts were throwing themselves at any ukrainian that appeared.
It really was an odd set up and I'm not surprised this has happened to be honest.

I knew a bloke in a 15 year marriage, 2 kids who had his head turned by a pretty young blonde at work. Literally 2 days after meeting her he fucked off after telling his wife there was somebody else. Well it partly is yes. Just because someone offers you sex doesn't mean you have to accept. It's mostly his fault, but she could have said no, told his wife and been on her side. That's what I would have done, even if that meant I was kicked out. I wouldn't run off with a married man.

It goes without saying that he is an absolute scumbag and obviously thick as pig shit to think the lodger actually wanted him, as opposed to a meal ticket and lapdog until she finds her feet here.

As for her though, to take a strangers hospitality and kindness, flirt and start a relationship with a father in front of his children and under the nose of the mother of those children, while living in their home is the lowest of the low. Mercenary is an understatement. Coming from a war zone or not. She’d been in Berlin safe for months before she came to the UK. Nothing to suggest she’d lost family or friends or even witnessed any of the atrocities. It was obviously a planned all along.

She may very well be exploiting him, but imo it’s not particularly equal. He’s in a position of privilege, in a safe country, looking to fuck a pretty refugee fleeing a war zone. She, on the other hand, is uprooted, dealing with a level of trauma, and in a foreign country where she knows no one. As such, she’s using what she can to provide herself with a better life and safety net. She’s clearly judged him as her best option out of the ones available to her so far. It’s cynical, but it’s survivalism. Women from former Soviet countries were/are doing the same thing, using their sexuality to escape from poverty and make better lives for themselves.
