‘I took in a Ukrainian refugee to live with my wife and me… then ran off with her’

Saw this on twitter and wanted to get thoughts. Don't know how in a tragic situation, some men still prioritise their horniness over everything. His poor wife!

Sounds like the sun is getting concerned about all these Ukrainian refugees and putting out stories like this so their female readers get concerned their husbands can't keep their dicks in their pants and object to taking in Ukrainian refugees. Maybe even object to the UK taking in any Ukrainian refugees on the whole.

They did this with the whole 'inmigrants would steal your jobs and Syrian refugees will rape your daughters'. Now Ukrainian refugees would seduce your husbands

Bingo.

Lorna's actually lucky that he's fucked off with this woman, she's free to move on and find someone better now

My thoughts exactly.

NippyWoowoo · 21/05/2022 12:02

I work for a council and our local coordinator told me it’s ridiculous the amount of single men registering to offer accommodation to single women only, specifying single no kids. So there’s quite a few guys out there trying to take advantage of this in some way.

Glad the council is seeing through this and hopefully they aren't matching them.

But the Facebook groups are full of accusations of 'sexism' against single men 🙄

Can't even trust the taken ones

She’s 22. Not a child. I wouldn’t have behaved like this at 22. She knew he was in a relationship with children and she was living in the woman’s home.

Grown women are adults. With functioning adult brains. If they make a decision to sleep with someone why try to say “she didn’t mean to” and “she’s not responsible”?

In that case maybe 22 year olds should not be allowed to vote or make any medical or financial decisions about themselves. They’re just not responsible!

She's literally just arrived having fled from war, and probably knows nobody else apart from this family.

Sofia won a man who is prepared to leave his family for a fuck. Commiserations are in order 😂

😁
It reminds me of a thread where the Op waxed lyrical about her DH having an affair. Yet she had won and the OW had lost because her DH had come back to her.

The 1st post was "Well done Op, you won a bag of shite". 😁

catandcoffee · 21/05/2022 12:08

They deserve each other...total arseholes.

HoppingPavlova · 21/05/2022 12:10

I can’t believe his parents taking them in. If one of my sons fronted up in that situation, I’d think I had gone mad/deaf/misunderstood and ask them to repeat the story. Then understanding I’d heard correctly the first time, I would laugh and slam the door shut.

catandcoffee · 21/05/2022 12:11

BluecheeseandBaskerville · 21/05/2022 11:38

God I’d love Sophia’s take on this. She’s totally vulnerable in this situation. She’s basically homeless if she says no.

really 🙄

interferringma · 21/05/2022 12:16

..... and then he sold the story. What an utter creep.

KettrickenSmiled · 21/05/2022 12:18

You deserve attention & praise for your moral rectitude @Thereisnolight
Here it is. 💩🇺🇦

Now tell us exactly how you would have behaved as a 22 year old whose country is being bombed to fuck by a tyrant, as you fled for safety & were preyed on by a stranger who could chuck you out onto the street of a foreign country whose language you did not speak?

I imagine your virtue & righteousness would have kept you safe from bombs, soldiers, & predatory tattooed men. Go you!

Bit of a disingenuous premise for a post op. “Wanted to get thoughts” - can you honestly say that you thought some people might come on and say “yeah, I think this is great, fair play, wish them all the best etc”? Seems like a thinly veiled attempt to stir up anti-refugee sentiment.

To me it seems more like anti-sleazy men, sympathy with refugees. No?

lightand · 21/05/2022 12:21

MayorDusty · 21/05/2022 09:34

Yeah it's all her fault 🙄

a. no one said it was all her fault

and yes, still does not make her behaviour lovely.
so @iwonder08 is indeed correct

Why are people who offer homes not DBS checked at the very very least?

The poor girl was in a very vulnerable situation and shocked that there are no checks being done on people who offer homes, and lack of support.

I only skimmed the article but did I miss a mention of something that would have been flagged on a DBS? Being a cheating scum bag is shit but isn't a crime

Dotdotdot21 · 21/05/2022 12:28

The Homes for Ukraine Scheme doesn’t match hosts to guests.
Most people are using Facebook , there are some charities but they were not matching a few weeks ago.

StaunchMomma · 21/05/2022 12:28

What an absolute bell end.

Clearly the ex-wife can do much better (literally every woman could!) and I sincerely hope he's dumped and left with nothing real quick.

EatYourVegetables · 21/05/2022 12:30

The Sun publishing stories that lead to ill feelings towards foreigners is not exactly news, is it? And there is no requirement for them to be true, judging from their history.

She's literally just arrived having fled from war, and probably knows nobody else apart from this family.

Her city wasn't in the war zone! They had restaurants and cafes open this whole time! She knew exactly what she was doing, of course most of the people apply because they honestly need safety but she knew exactly what she was doing. She checked him out on Facebook and thought that he'd be easy to seduce. She was right. What a shameful man.

RedMake88 · 21/05/2022 12:32

Isn’t like a tear tattoo near your eye signify you’ve been prison or killed someone ?

She said in the article she fancied him from the very start. Her city wasn't in the war zone they didn't even close the cafes there this whole time. She knew exactly what she was doing! Of course it is just one story and shouldn't shade honest Ukrainians coming over seeking safety and honest sponsors trying to accommodate them but those 2 are ridiculous. The first thing she decided to do is to go to the gym with him and they also decided to give an interview to a newspaper about their relationship??? Yes she was tricked into all of that!

@OrientalDaisy you either have poor geography (no criticism, so do I) or a very naive view of what constitutes a war zone.

Lviv - where this young woman fled from - has been under attack for months.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60728208

I'm not sure what you think cafes & restaurants have to do with "not being in a war zone." They're not much cop at fending off cruise missiles.

ohmyfod · 21/05/2022 12:43

No she isn’t completely innocent but she’s vulnerable and traumstised. He’ll be ensuring she’s pregnant soon enough to trap her, no doubt.

He sounds a sadistic emotional abuser. He appears to have loved every single minute of taunting and gaslighting Lorna. Deliberately learning how to communite with Sofia in ber own language in front of Lorna. Lorna being upset the kids were being demoted to second class citizens in their own home so Sofia could have her own room, and him implying she was a screeching unreasonable fishwife over it.

And the nerve to go to the press as well. Not only has he abandoned and traumatised Laura and his children, he’s exposed and humiliated them as well.

He’s a sick fuck. I worry for Sofia.

She's hardly going to say she was vulnerable and traumatised from escaping a worn torn country, if she wants to keep the roof over her head is she ? Check in with her in a few years and it won't be love at first sight you'll be hearing.

Yes, the most important thing to focus on in this distressing story about war, refugees, & predatory men, is the opportunity for safe & comfortable women to tear into a young displaced woman's morals & sexuality.

Well done @OrientalDaisy - keep doing the patriarchy's job for it, highly commendable.

Great. Maybe he can put his skills to use & pop off to join the fighting. Do the decent thing alongside all those Ukrainians he was so worried about.
