The balance of power is hardly equal. She could very easily have felt she would be homeless with no support in a foreign country if she said no to him. Even if he didn’t outright say she owed him, or threaten her with eviction, it would be implied. How could she stay, knowing he was like that? And where could she go? Realistically, what are her options here? She has nothing to fall back on.

Would you take a young, attractive refugee (on her own) into your home though? Always a risk that something like this could happen, unfortunately.

I agree with pp he probably CHOSE the new girlfriend what a sleaze and the new girlfriend has possibly gone along with it because she is in a strange Country after being traumatised by war.

I'm not defending what they have done but men and women run off, have affairs, start new families and rinse repeat all the time... the only people who really suffer are the children.

I ve been on here a long time and rarely have i seen so much vitriol, which is rather surprising as our very own Bojo has done similar, several times, fathered yet more unwanted (by him) kids, yet apparently, its none of our business :( and he is deemed fit to run the country and navigate us through a pandemic, a war and now a recession.

I work for a council and our local coordinator told me it’s ridiculous the amount of single men registering to offer accommodation to single women only, specifying single no kids. So there’s quite a few guys out there trying to take advantage of this in some way.

This one is particularly abhorrent. I’d love to hear the wife’s side and also while absolutely not entirely innocent, remember this is a young woman torn from everything she knows in traumatic circumstances finding someone who can speak to her a bit. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s some form of trauma bonding and I’d also love to know what he has told her.

Bit of a disingenuous premise for a post op. “Wanted to get thoughts” - can you honestly say that you thought some people might come on and say “yeah, I think this is great, fair play, wish them all the best etc”? Seems like a thinly veiled attempt to stir up anti-refugee sentiment.
