As above have you ever been popular or well known on MN . And decided to name change and take a back seat?

I've been here since the dawn of time with this name (changed a couple of times briefly) and I would say that I'm probably Z list. I recognise very few people these days and miss quite a few

Over on the legal boards MrsBertBibby used to be a Leg End. Bluntness is often amusing, SandyY2K and SoupDragon can usually be relied on to drop in with something sensible and concise that always makes me wonder why I needed three times more words to say the same thing.

Im a bit too new (only 5 years…) to have been in with the hilarious old posters. ESD?

I’ve been ‘using’ on and off for 12 years or so but have name changed several times and never spend enough time to become ‘popular’ whatever that means in terms of an Internet forum.

I remember JesusInACabbageVan dropping THE funniest comment about us being a bunch of peri women arguing about dibs on a charity shop bag (I'm paraphrasing, her comment was perfection), so why would we know about something or other? I Iike to think she's a sitcom writer in real life.

I'm not sure popular is the right word. Prolific, maybe!

I've been here since 2010 and usually use one name (not this one which is a recent namechange) and sometimes post a lot and then don't for a bit. I'm sure most people wouldn't know me from Adam. There are some posters I admire, though I am not afraid to disagree with them when they post something daft or unreasonable.
I do recognise a lot of poster names but more often do not pay attention to the username just what they have to say. I was wondering recently though whatever happened to CogitoErgoSometimes who disappeared into thin air around 5ish years ago having been a prolific poster. So if anyone has inside info on that I'd love to know.

I've been using the site for 12 years and often under this name. I don't think I will have impinged on anyone's consciousness. I usually name change for starting contentious or threads that could out me. My purpose for using the site is not to garner attention or feed an ego though so I couldn't give two hoots whether I am 'known' or not.

Anyfucker needs to drop a full stop on this thread

Similar length of posting and very similar history so feel very similar too 😀(although have been this name for ages and was surprisingly blue about the thought of my posting/name change history being lost when the site 'upgraded')

As a ‘newbie’ years ago I was very naive about how invested some people were in this site and its threads, feeling ‘goaded’ far too often, hunting for trolls (I mean who gives a shite really unless they are pervs) picking apart every last word an OP says in case they we’re lying, being able to spend every hour arguing the toss (what about work??) fawning over ‘Royalty’ One poster even referred to Anyfucker’s temp ban and return to Rosa Parkes refusing to move on the bus (wtaf)

I once made the mistake of posting an aibu about something vile my SIL had said, BIG mistake! The abuse was off the scale and I even got threatening private messages.

I went to a Christmas one years ago, and people introduced themselves as their MN username. I only learned the actual names of people I was a bit closer to.

I don’t remember user names like I used to, there are so many posters now and it’s lost the club-like feel that used to exist when it seemed like you really knew people.

No, I've been here well over a decade but name change a fair bit. It seems more equal and friendly these days, it could be cliquey before although some well known posters were pure class
