As above have you ever been popular or well known on MN . And decided to name change and take a back seat?

Zombie threads confuse the hell out of me until I realise how old they are. Lots of names from the olden days.

I joined 18 years ago and became a fairly prolific poster and was a mod under my then username spacecadet.. I then fell off it about ten years ago after my marriage break down .. came back and name changed to spacecadetagain until recently dumping that .. I tend to lurk these days .
The mod thing had to stop at the time due to the Scandal regarding a person who must not be named

Not really, no.
I've always posted loads and kept the same name for years (I now change regularly). As pp have said, prolific not popular.
Didn't really make those 'your favourite mner' lists but a lot of people would go oh yes I know that name if they came across it.
Forgettable I suppose is the word 🤣.

Yes I was MN famous for asking Jo swinson what a woman is. I stopped posting though as I was worried about being outed and losing my job.

Been here since 2011 and on my fourth NC.

Definitely not famous or royalty but I don't post any really controversial views. (Or at least I don't think I do. 😊)

My claim to fame was years ago with my previous username when someone called me a thick bitch as I made the grave mistake of saying I didn't particularly like Beyonce or her new album. (Lemonade) 🙄

I do miss many of the older posters though but always refreshing to see new people too.

I sometimes wonder about a poster called Omirian. She posted a lot and then her dh was unfaithful and she vanished.

Yes which is why she said no one would recognise her, so everyone would fall over themselves to assure her she's recognisable 🤦‍♀️

I was confusing her with ESD, who hasn't been mentioned yet 🤔

I remember a poster called eatshitderek or something similar and her ex or one of his friends registered under a very similar user name and posted in the bereavement topic posing as her pretending that her son has died suddenly 😱 Horrific behaviour

The ladt post I remember seeing from ESD was her saying she was just about to go out on a date. I like to think she didn't come back because she was living happily ever after

(As opposed to him being some sort of nutcase that killed her!)

I have been on here for over 10 years, never name changed (apart from when doing comedy trollposts, which was OK in those days).

But I generally don't post all that much.

So I was at aghast about 7 years ago when someone called "BalloonSomethingOrOther" posted and someone else said: oh I would change your name if I were you there is a very well-known poster on here called BalloonSlayer.

I was horrified and posted to say No !! No need !! I don't care !!

(But I was secretly flattered. )

I could only name, oh I don't know, maybe 5 Mumsnetters who've kept the same username through thick and thin. I've been posting here most days since 2007. I change names regularly since hackergate, Daily Mail lifting and the reddit site.
