Lewis Goodall
So that’s two of the most prominent Conservative backbench lawyers, one the Chair of the Justice Select Committee and the other the former Attorney General, calling on the Prime Minister to resign over the past few days.

If only the current AG and the Secretary of State for Justice had the integrity - or, in the case of Braverman - the brains to do the same.

itsgettingweird · 30/05/2022 21:12

Yeah Braverman won't.

Not in a month of Sundays will she stand up and against Johnson.

What's a real shame is she has actually done some good locally with our nhs services.

But everything's overshadowed by her constant photo shoots and tweets of "biggest, first, best and world leading".

Also her inability to engage with people who need help. She only engages with people she thinks will vote for her or further her career.

A 9% drop in our Tory vote in May elevations with a 5% rise in turnout should have told her something.

But she's too arrogant to notice.

DuncinToffee · 30/05/2022 15:15

They are openly laughing at us now

NEW: Boris Johnson’s spokesman NOT denying gathering in Downing Street flat on the evening of PM’s birthday in June 2020.

He points to terms of reference of Sue Gray report ie suggests she could’ve looked into it if she’d wanted to.

Presumably there's nothing to stop the police investigating? And maybe doing it properly this time rather than politely serving questionnaires.

Im not obeying any more lockdowns no matter who is in charge. They wernt supposed to be policy.

?? They've been a fundamental part of pandemic planning for years, all over the world.

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/05/2022 12:41

Well, not exactly a webchat, but Justine will be putting MN questions to him.

"Can you tell us what is the point of this, given that our members cannot believe a word you say?"

Dashdotdotdash · 30/05/2022 21:29

I wonder if he thinks he'll get an easy ride on here because he knows what a woman is?

What a cover. Extraordinary and very thought provoking.

My goodness, that’s so powerful. Good work, Yorks Post.

Roussette · 31/05/2022 06:02

What a front page. Yorks post better watch out, Nadine Dorries will be trying to privatise it like C4!

Look at the image below. This the reply from my MP regarding Sue Grey fallout.

Boris Johnson, FPN's, and Sue Gray report due. Thread 5
Roussette · 31/05/2022 06:52

@Joach I really want to read it but I can't see it. I've tried magnifier on my laptop and stretching it on my mobile but too small.
Can you give me the gist of it?
I'd be interested because I have written three letters to my MP since partygate started. They are all polite but very firm. I've had not one reply, nowt, nil. Which I think is appalling.

@Roussette it basically says we acknowledge people are angry. BJ is sorry and is now going to try his best. I support him with that.

@Joach thanks for posting, I received similar from my MP. Unsurprisingly I don’t think BJ’s ‘best’ is good enough and I resent him destroying this country because he can’t ride the bike without his stabilisers on. The position of PM needs to be filled by someone capable of doing the job not someone who repeatedly makes massive, basic, errors (being generous) of judgement.

Look at the image below. This the reply from my MP regarding Sue Grey fallout.

That's word for word the same letter I got from my MP (a minister), although the intro sentence was different, and my one doesn't have the final 'I fully support the Prime Minister sentence'. Interesting ...

Cornettoninja · 31/05/2022 07:35

@BringBackCoffeeCreams well the tories are fond of their ctrl+c ctrl+v - remember Nadine Dorries Angela Rayner tweet? Tech bod must’ve been giving them a crash course.

@derxa Do tell, what is a woman in your opinion?

Dashdotdotdash · 31/05/2022 07:56

derxa · 30/05/2022 22:48

It's a good start

A good start would be obeying the laws his own government has made, and not lying to Parliament and the country.

Notonthestairs · 31/05/2022 08:09

I have no doubt they've been given template letters with wording prescribed by CCHQ. The last thing they want is MPs going off message.

There is a short article in the Times about the Johnsons & Chequers. The head housekeeper resigned in 2020 after a dispute with CJ and being accused of mishandling a personal item in the bathroom (?!). She'd been there off and on since 2004. She was paid off and given an NDA which you'd expect.

Tales of the Johnson's turning up at Chequers before May had even moved out and chaotic behaviour - what you'd expect really.

Notonthestairs · 31/05/2022 08:23

"Number 10 source tells me:

“No alternative leader, plan or vision”.

Some MPs will be “horrified” by who they end up with.

Voters don't want “regicide and more naval-gazing”.

Getting rid of PM would be “most bizarre and uncharacteristically masochistic act of self-harm"

Regicide? Fascinating how they view themselves.
I wonder if they said the same when they were manoeuvring out Theresa May.

Zonder · 31/05/2022 08:28

Blossomtoes · 30/05/2022 18:42

She could but she won’t. If she did that it would end Johnson’s career as well as her marriage. It doesn’t look as if that point’s yet been reached. I have no doubt it will be quite quickly once he’s out of office.

I don't think Carrie is bothered about either of those any more.

Alexandra2001 · 31/05/2022 08:44

derxa · 30/05/2022 22:48

Lol! madness that anyone thinks BJ knows what a woman is or even cares.

His treatment of women over the years has been terrible.

Anyone seen any pic's of their wedding anniversary celebrations?

Cornettoninja · 31/05/2022 08:57

No alternative leader, plan or vision

it’s boggling to me a political party would push this image of themselves. So the tories, as a collective, think that there is only one person who can lead their party and that’s it? It’s not the best example of democracy is it?

And that person has among the worst ever poll ratings for a Prime Minister.

He doesn't seem to realise that a growing number of MPs are horrified with what they have already. As are the voters.
