Please go with @yellowsuninthesky link. Not mine. Apparently the whatsapp messages are gobsmacking. And they invited 200 to one of the parties Shock

Will do that now

Roussette · 25/05/2022 11:41

Who is Helen McNamara? She brought in the karaoke machine...

Oh, and someone was sick after too much booze, and there was a fight

Martin Reynolds is awful... he even boasts in a whatsapp 'better than them focussing on our drinks. I think we got away with it' shock

Interesting comment in the report:

"I was made aware of multiple examples of a lack of respect and poor treatment of security and cleaning staff. This was unacceptable."

How very Tory. It would be fascinating to have some names.

InMySpareTime · 25/05/2022 11:50

On Page 19, it says (re. Cakegate):
"The event lasted between 14.25 and 14.45, throughout which the Prime Minister was present."

So the 9 minute defence is looking a bit weaker there...

Dashdotdotdash · 25/05/2022 11:51

Was the karaoke machine at any of the parties Johnson was at?

Are we now going to see an argument that that was totally normal for work purposes?

Roussette · 25/05/2022 11:51

From what I'm reading, it is very damning, and not good for the Met who responded to an alam going off, with Police entering and partying moving somewhere else to do the Secret Santa and an 'awards ceremony' and not stopping the partying.

I cannot get over the amount of booze they were consuming. As my DD has said (she works for a massive multi national co), she goes to leaving dos. No booze.

One party.... the last person left at 0420 hours Shock and was told to leave through the back door by 'the custodian' whoever the hell that is

Reading between the lines on the 13 Nov event (the one with all the photos this week), BJ left his office at 19.17, went into the press office on his way back to his flat and gave a speech there. He arrived at his flat for the ABBA party at 20.00. That was quite a speech he gave then, at least half an hour (and that's with a generous allowance for slow walking across the building).

DuncinToffee · 25/05/2022 12:09

So the ABBA party has not been investigated?

DuncinToffee · 25/05/2022 12:09

They knew, they didn't care Angry

newnamethanks · 25/05/2022 12:10

I'm looking at Tory front bench on tv. It's impossible not to recall the last lines of Animal Farm.

Notonthestairs · 25/05/2022 12:11

DuncinToffee · 25/05/2022 12:09

So the ABBA party has not been investigated?

No. SG noted CJ & 5 SpAds met in tne flat at 6. Johnson joined them at 8.

After Met investigation she didn't investigate further.

L1ttledrummergirl · 25/05/2022 12:11

Fuck!
He's going to put his arms around the people the way they put their arms around the care homes in the pandemic.

We're all going to die We know how well that worked.

jgw1 · 25/05/2022 12:12

By jove, I've worked out why Boris was fined for the cake. He was there for 20minutes, which is longer than the 10 minutes one is allowed to commit a crime for without it counting.

L1ttledrummergirl · 25/05/2022 12:16

The PM keeps saying "to the best of my knowledge "
He knows fuck all!

Ah well you see you are getting the hang of this. He is not there to know stuff, he is there to tend the pot plants.

DuncinToffee · 25/05/2022 12:23
Grin

Keir Starmer - "15 tax rises & he pretends they're a low tax government. It's 4 & 1/2 months since Labour 1st called for a windfall tax... & surprise, surprise HE'S now backing it.. I'm told that hindsight is a wonderful thing"

Cornettoninja · 25/05/2022 12:26

PMQ’s - we got brexit done (finished is it? Northern Ireland still seems to be having bit of an issue and immigration isn’t quite what was promised), fastest vaccine rollout in Europe (well done, but it’s not a unique feat to roll out a vaccine programme. Lots of countries did it. Bit much to still be falling back on that one success over a year later), unemployment at its lowest (errr, he keeps getting pulled up on this. The parameters have been redefined so the comparison with the 70’s is redundant. Much like when they redefined ‘crime’ to not include fraud (14% of all crime previously) and the crime figures fell….. by 14%.

yes I think he should resign over partygate/the Sue Gray report, but let’s not pretend that we’re ‘losing’ anyone important here.

Really wish he wouldn’t. It’s a Lenny hug at best.
(Mice and Men reference - Lenny hugs/pets a mouse to death)

Cornettoninja · 25/05/2022 12:31

Oh and let’s not ignore BJ’s ‘Vladimir Corbyn’ zinger. He’s a fucking child.

L1ttledrummergirl · 25/05/2022 12:32

@jgw1
That's true. I forget that I need to reread the job description.
Perhaps you guys can remind me.
Things I have so far:
Stand up in Parliament and lie to everyone there.
Drink alcohol in every office you enter.
Tend the pot plants.
Know nothing about everything

There must be more?

L1ttledrummergirl · 25/05/2022 12:34

Also one of the reasons employment is being made to look lower is zero hours contracts. They may have zero hours but they are still employed.

DuncinToffee · 25/05/2022 12:34

Don't insult children, Cornetto
