Apologies it’s wrong way round !

Been trying to figure it out a while but no idea - in amongst my mother’s photos, shes visited a lot of the UK and Germany but doesn’t recognise it at all .

Wondering if anyone recognises? It would probably be mid 80s-1998 or so .

I was really hoping for a big mystery but that’s really clearly London.

I should have said clearly to me as that sounds rude, if you don’t know London it would be more of a mystery. The Tower is remarkably unassuming in real life.

TeachesOfPeaches · 17/05/2022 18:38

It's taken on Tower Bridge looking towards London Bridge

FartNRoses · 17/05/2022 18:39

Quickest solved mystery I've ever come across 😁

addler · 17/05/2022 18:40

I wonder how many more people will reply with 'London' before OP returns? Grin

Clymene · 17/05/2022 18:41

I want to know where they live that they're so baffled by it Grin

ItsNotNormalLove · 17/05/2022 18:42

I don't get why OP has apologised for the photo being the wrong way round when it isn't.

It was immediately obvious to me where it was when I zoomed in but appreciate it would've been a mystery to some.

JaneJeffer · 17/05/2022 18:46

Looks like London when I lived there.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 17/05/2022 18:47

Blackpool? 🤔

claracluck1978 · 17/05/2022 18:50

I guess to someone who doesn't know London it's not obvious but if you've ever walked over Tower Bridge it's quite clear.

I miss that view!

BelleTheBananas · 17/05/2022 18:54

I came here to say that’s definitely HMS Belfast and Tower of London. There’s a good Horrible Histories boat tour there.

LouisRenault · 17/05/2022 18:56

I wonder how many more people will reply with 'London' before OP returns?

Well, I have RTFT, but yes, my immediate reaction was 'that's the Belfast'! 😁

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 17/05/2022 18:56

Isn’t the Tate the stack on the left, not the right bank?

pinklavendar · 17/05/2022 18:56

LidlCinnamonBun · 17/05/2022 18:10

Could it be Liverpool?

We have no bridge in Liverpool (if you discount Runcorn) but one over to the Wirral would be fabulous

theemmadilemma · 17/05/2022 18:59

Cancel the cheque?

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 17/05/2022 19:03

Think they're right

Anywhere that isn't London, I expect.

Looks like the HMS Belfast on the left ?

Yes, I thought that too. Definitely not Liverpool as river isn’t wide enough.

moomintrolls · 17/05/2022 19:19

Looks distinctly like a bank of the Thames but can't place it.

OP said it's the wrong way round

whynotwhatknot · 17/05/2022 19:22

thats london i used to live by tower bridge-other side

Matchingcollarandcuffs · 17/05/2022 19:25

I've just had an op in the hospital just beyond HMS Belfast

Chewbecca · 17/05/2022 19:27

The Tate is on the left (South bank), not the right. The pic is the right way round as taken from Tower Bridge.

The Tower is remarkably unassuming in real life. 😱

AngelsWithSilverWings · 17/05/2022 19:28

Definitely London! I can see my old office in that photo just up from HMS Belfast

Minimalme · 17/05/2022 19:30

What is the mystery op? Please tell us!

Everyone knows London surely? It’s the centre of the universe isn’t it?
