I've just made a coffee & put the washer on. Everyone else is still sleeping so it's very peaceful atm. I've got the kitchen window open so I can hear the birds, and I imagine the neighbour's dc will be out to play shortly.

I've not planned to do much today -there's the usual washing, ironing, hoovering etc. to be done. & both bathrooms could do with cleaning, but that won't take long.

Dd1 has drama coursework to carry on with & revision for a science paper they're doing in class next week (she's y10). She wants to print 2019's GCSE Spanish writing (I think) and practise that too -they did one the other day & she was 2 marks off an 8 so now she wants to get that 8! I think we'll be wandering to Asda for more paper!

Dd2 has her usual maths homework, some Science & English too. She'll probably come & sit at the table, with me, to do them.

I want to get the few sunflower plants off the windowsil into a pot, outside; trim my basil plant, and maybe sow some cucumber seeds too.

I've a little bit of prep for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides but not much -someone else is leading this week. I might not even need my trolley on Tuesday!

Once I've done those few bits I'm going to paint some more story props for school - I'm running out of resources though so these will likely be the last ones for a while 🤷‍♀️

Possibly southern fried chicken burgers for tea, with salad and wedges 😋 Then this evening I'll carry on with one of my crochet projects (I have three on the go 🙈).

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning Smile currently drinking a cuppa in bed. Taking dc swimming this morning then the food shop and pottering at home. Might read my book in the garden this afternoon

Bearsbearsbears40 · 14/05/2022 09:11

Good morning, a nice quiet day today. Going to the farmers market shortly, going to try to summon up the energy for a run too. You’ve reminded me I have a couple of plants to pot. Going to catch up with laundry ahead of packing for our trip to Scotland next week. Then I’ll watch Eurovision with my mum later, I’m not a fan but she loves it!

Amdone123 · 14/05/2022 09:17

Morning. Sounds like a very busy morning - productive and academic !
I was out last night at a family party. It was so lovely to see everyone. Some I hadn't seen for 3 years. I took my granddaughter who had a whale of a time. So, today, I'm drinking tea and resting. Did a lot of dancing, so legs are hurting 😫
Granddaughter is coming after her tennis lesson so we're going to eat out. Burger and fries beckons !
Have a great day everyone.

Sitting in my dressing gown eating breakfast with DC. Going to shower and get dressed, hang washing out, empty dishwasher, clean up after last nights dinner, do the ironing, make lunch and clean up after. DP will probably drag us out to visit MIL this afternoon as she's asked him to do her gardening (at 81 she's too old apparently but managed to do it all herself during lockdown when nobody was allowed to go round and do it for her). DP has told her to get a gardener as we don't have time to do our own garden and hers but she's put no effort into finding one. When we get back it will be time to make the dinner.

bloodywhitecat · 14/05/2022 09:20

Not got much planned, will probably tackle the weekly shop in a bit then home for lunch, the kids will have a nap and I might tackle the lawn while they do.

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 14/05/2022 09:21

One load of washing out on the line, a second upstairs on the airer. Food shopping later. I should be playing "pack for camping" but instead am fantasising about a job vacancy that sounds perfect for me but may be in the wrong location (relocation isn't on the cards). I need to work out, if they'll let me work it from here, who I know that is senior in the business to ask for guidance for my application. It sounds ideal but it's a leap.

LondonQueen · 14/05/2022 09:24

Just dropped my car off for a service, everyone else still asleep so me and Ddog are going to sit in the garden.

FabulousKilljoys · 14/05/2022 09:24

Morning all. Toddler had a temperature all night and 11yo went to bed with headache. Haven't had much sleep so I'm on my 3rd coffee already.

We did have plans to go to an event but I'm not sure now. Toddler seems fine today, he's had breakfast and currently watching Cocomelon. DD11 is still in bed, I'll go check on her in a bit. It's a beautiful day but I don't want to be on a train halfway to the event only to find I've got a couple of poorly kids on my hands! See how everyone is in an hour or so and make a decision.

I guess if we don't go it'll be out in the garden, soak up some long awaited sunshine. And I'll treat them to kfc tonight if we don't get out and about.

Twospaniels · 14/05/2022 09:30

We’re away in our caravan so will explore the local area for a lovely walk with our dogs. Will probably treat ourselves to fish n chips for lunch, then relax this afternoon in the sun (hopefully). Husband usually does bbq for dinner, so as lunch will be filling, probably just a bit of chicken with salad.

OldTinHat · 14/05/2022 09:30

Morning all! Hope the sun is shining where you are today ☀️

I'm still in bed despite being awake since 5am as usual - the birds outside are so wonderfully noisy!

Lots going on round here this weekend but I'm 'hiding' from someone that I dug a hole with (a man with a HUGE ego) by pretending I have visitors so I'm having to avoid events 😅

I'm going to do some healthy batch cooking this morning and then take my lardy arse for a walk up the hill and sit at the top with my book for a while to recover. Joined an NHS scheme this week to lose weight so am trying to walk every day which isn't easy because I'm disabled and walking is very painful.

Have a wonderful day everyone, I love reading what you're all up to!

DolphinaPD · 14/05/2022 09:33

Good morning everyone.

I'm currently lying in the sofa with a dog on me.

I might go to a dog rescue charity shop later, lidl, and I want to go to decathlon. Then maybe the beach.

Not sure what we'll have for dinner but all in all its going to an easy lazy day today.

maddiemookins16mum · 14/05/2022 09:41

Morning all, just back from Aldi, shopping away and washing out. DH is on an early/late (Manager for Supported Living and two of the team have phoned in sick). DD is away with her pals at Butlins. So just me and DMIL home today. We’re popping to the garden centre later for hanging basket stuff (plus coffee and cake no doubt).
Really disappointed DH has had to cover work as we have two pals coming round tonight for Eurovision. Hopefully though he’ll be home for the result. It’s glorious here (Kent), love this time of year.

BigRedDuck · 14/05/2022 09:42

Morning everyone. I love these threads so much.

DCs are attached to YouTube and I've just cleaned the rest of the bathroom whilst running a bath which I am now laying in. I feel productive already.
DS and I are going to walk into the village with DDog and DDogs buddy who has come to stay for the weekend, to get my car too many drinks last night and then get DDs friend a birthday present. DS wants to get a milkshake so we will probably do that too.
DH is dropping off DD to her friends birthday party and will pick her up after he sees his mate for a couple of hours. DS wants to go to his school hell fete so we might have a wander round there.

Later we're having a Chinese to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and the usual in for a penny, BGT and probably the euro vision. No booze for me so I need to buy a bottle of pop!

KittenKong · 14/05/2022 09:42

Slightly hungover…

house like an absolute midden and I have two reports to write… 🤢

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 14/05/2022 09:50

Morning all happy Saturday,

Slow morning here so far, eldest at their volunteer job as usual, other teen in bed still,
,little ones mud kitchening.

Off to lego club at the library in a bit then playground, Probably lunch in a cafe then probably walk the long loop home we live in a village so lots of nice walks.

Will pick up something from the butchers for tea thinking burgers or meatballs not sure yet. Inspiration welcome!

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 14/05/2022 09:52

Teen far too cool for lego club apparently but will join us for cafe lunch and walk

Shergill15 · 14/05/2022 09:56

Morning. Had a leisurely breakfast and coffee. Nice sunny day here, plan was to go to an artisan market and have lunch out but DD has been complaining of a tummy ache. Going to get showered and dressed and see how she's doing after that. If we don't go out, will be housework/gardening I think, both of which there is plenty of!

riotlady · 14/05/2022 10:00

Morning :) DD was up at 6.30 so slowly woke up while she watched Paw Patrol and then played dolls and jigsaws. She’s now at ballet so DH has made me a veggie bacon sandwich and I’m going to hang the washing out before we go pick her up.

Then we’ve got to drop some parcels off (having a pre-house move clear out so I’ve been selling things on Vinted) and we’re off to my mums for lunch. It’s a beautiful day and my parents have a massive garden so we’ll probably hang out there for a good chunk of the afternoon.

DH is working tonight so once he leaves I’ll give DD a bath and her tea (plain roast chicken and broccoli, her favourite- think she must have been a bodybuilder in a previous life!). Once she’s in bed I’m going to settle in to watch Eurovision with an oven pizza and some fruity cider :)

RoyKent · 14/05/2022 10:05

Morning everyone! Sun is shining on Norfolk this morning. DD has had her hair cut at the posh hair salon and we've had a wander round the high street.
Just polishing off some sausage rolls before sorting out the front garden and hanging the bunting !
Tonight is a meal and drinks with much younger cousins. Looking forward to letting my hair down.

vodkaredbullgirl · 14/05/2022 10:14

Off to a food fest in town. Come home and have a nap, before I go to work tonight.

Amdone123 · 14/05/2022 10:17

@Plantsandpuddlesuits , how about meatballs with spaghetti and garlic bread ?!

PollyDarton1 · 14/05/2022 10:19

Inexplicably woke at 6am despite my DS being with his dad so had perfect opportunity for a lie in.

Moderately hungover after a date yesterday and sinking too much wine and not enough food. Have a cup of tea on the go and still in PJs.

Tentatively (drunkenly) spoke to last nights date about doing something today after we got at our respective homes but I suspect we are both too hungover to commit to anything - plus I've not heard from him this morning Grin

JorisBonson · 14/05/2022 10:19

Trying to be quiet as DH sleeps off his night shift (neighbours not quite as considerate!).

Need to go shopping for a pair of shoes for BIL's wedding. Shopping is my absolute nemesis, especially on a warm day like this.

A little gardening then pizza and Eurovision!

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 14/05/2022 10:42

That's settled then @Amdone123 . Already got turkey mince in the freezer so have lifted that out and will get some pork mince in a bit. I always do a turkey / pork mix.

Have also got a random pack of fresh taglietelle in the fridge so will have that aswell

lucysmam · 14/05/2022 10:59

@Plantsandpuddlesuits I'd go for spaghetti and meatballs too 😋

@Shergill15 there's an artisan market in town today; I briefly considered a wander in but decided I'm ready for a weekend around the house instead.

The washer's on it's second load here, & I've tidied round and am about to clean the cooker top. I'll do the downstairs loo after that, then wait for dd1 to surface before I head upstairs.
