I don't care that much but if I have to choose, Colleen, seems kind of obvious.
The stories leaked were about her. Vardy seems incapable of just saying fair cop graciously. Taking Colleen to court for defamation was bananas. She did it. It's obvious she did it! So to take CR to court seems narcissistic in its level of delusion

I’m also (meant to be) too busy reading philosophical tomes….. BUT, I don’t think anyone sane would take RV’s side? She’s quite clearly significantly more greedy and vile than your average wag🤷🏼‍♀️….and it’s VERY telling her other half is so conspicuous in his absence!

If it is proved that RV has lied in court, is she guilty of perjury?

Exactly this!! 😂 I don't/didn't know who RV is because I haven't lived in UK for 15 years, don't really follow British media or football, but my god I'm absolutely entranced by this court case!

Team Rooney as RV seems to have far too many technical issues surrounding her.

Vardy's team implied at one point, if memory serves, that the messages were backed up, but could not be retrieved because at least three devices were lost or broken or unavailable. An unfortunate series of events, indeed.

Like a previous poster, I'm only following it through Marian Keyes' twitter account. She's so funny. She choosing more relatable outfits for RV to wear, including cardigans from John Lewis.

Interested to see that RV apparently rejected settlement offers pre trial because CR wasn’t prepared to apologise. What are the implications in costs terms if RV doesn’t beat the money offer; will the usual rules apply? So, even if RV ‘wins’ could she still end up out of pocket? I’m assuming that CR’s lawyers put the offer in such a way that she was protected and that the lack of apology wasn’t going to skewer her? Anyone ?

Vardy giving her evidence has damaged her reputation far more than anything Coleen Rooney could possibly have said about her, and the reason she's giving the evidence is because she brought the case. So easily avoidable, so why would you continue if you were Vardy? Even if Coleen does lose the case (and I really hope she doesn't) Vardy is the architect of her own downfall here.

Peter Andre is the only one coming out of this well at the moment.

RV is a nasty piece of work. I wouldn't be surprised if JV divorced her after this, although the stories she'd sell on him would be horrendous no doubt.

She's proved herself to be a complete liar. She's untrustworthy and a sneak. I'm glad I'm not one of her friends, you'd nevet know when your private business was going to end up on the front page of the Sun.

Her husband is still playing in the premiership so will be training 6 days a week at the min. He had a game Wednesday night and another game at weekend. Wayne Rooney is now a managed in the championship which has finished for the year so he is effectively on holiday anyway

As RV has sold stories to tabloids, and told her agent to pass on other stories, for money, where is the defamation?
Even if she didn't sell these particular Coleen stories (which I believe she totally conspired with her agent to do).

If she loses on a technicality I think she should write a cheque for the correct amount but instead of putting RV's name on, write the name on of a charity instead. I've no idea if this is allowed though!

Normally if a paper makes an "offer of amends" then it offers to print an apology and damages. So the apology aspect, saying they were wrong is a big part of it. And then you can't also offer another defence (Ie truth)

Colleen side, Rebekah is making herself look very silly, she seems very immature the whole thing is just a waste of court time IMHO. I think RV will rue the day she decided to take this action. She is not going to come out well from this.

For her it’s the principle that it was the Sun, it’s especially hated in Liverpool and rightly so! Not to mention RV bringing up Coleens disabled little sister who passed away. RV is a cruel nasty thing.

I think she thought Coleen would drop it out of fear more might come out about Wayne. This is why I would be quite gleeful for her to win, Vardy has used Coleens every weakness for money.

100% CR. She had her trust broken, was used and abused by a fame hungry little tramp who wanted to elevate her status and gain favourable coverage from the press. The only thing I agree with RV about is she didn't leak sortores for money, it was definitely for favourable press and to humiliate others.

If RV had kept quiet this would have been long forgotten now as covid would have redirected everyone's attention but she's dragged it out and is now being shown publicly for what she is. Don't even get me started on that useless excuse for an agent!!

I don't get why everyone is insulting CR in the same vein as RV though.
She didn't want this to come to court but as RV brought proceedings she has no choice. She did try to settle several times but RV was determined for this to be played out publicly, which in my view was a bit of an own goal.
I wonder how all those calling CR a silly little girl engaging in playground squabbles would feel if you were well known to the public and your private info was being sold to the press.
