The celebrity civil trial - which will be decided by a judge, not a jury - is set to run for seven days.

I thought so too, but Sky News keeps reporting about things being 'put to jurors'.

Which surprised me - especially as the supposed jurors don't appear in those bewildering court drawings.

I imagine that Sky News have fucked it up?

I am not sure either of them will come out of this well - whatever the verdict - but other opinions are available

It's dated today, about yesterday's proceedings by the looks of it.

Guess it depends on whether technically CR can prove that RV directly and knowingly passed private stories onto the Sun. And if RV had a reputation that could be reduced in the minds of right thinking people. If RV does win I hope she is awarded minimal costs and damages.

I think it's clear that she generally has the habit of broadcasting other peoples private info and that she's done more damage to her own reputation than CR has by taking this case and being such a poor witness. She's not too bright or well advised is she? But it's been very entertaining. I love the Twitter accounts following the court proceedings.

I was also wondering if RV benefitted financially from passing on the stories. Presumably if she got paid for them it would be called in evidence for CRs defence.

It should be easy enough to follow the money trail. Did RV benefit financially or did her agent ? Or both ? if the leaks were deemed to have come from RV or her agent.

Something about RV has always rubbed me up the wrong way - even before all this drama. But I think she’s made a right tit of herself, and I don’t think it’s much of a stretch to believe all the allegations of her selling stories to the press.
I also don’t see what CR would have to gain by accusing her so publicly if she didn’t have solid proof it was true.

Apparently Sarah dropped her bag and RV started taking pics of the contents. She and Sarah got in to an argument and people had to intervene. These wag events sound like the local working mens clubs at times. 🤣

I've just googled.…Man alive, she's a right one isn't she?! Never passes up an opportunity to sell a picture or a story! Well I'm guessing anyone who's anyone won't give her the time of day after this, she's not going to get any swanky invites now, is she!?

What is she (RV) doing this for? Does she crave the notoriety?

Earlier this week there was evidence that she passed on a story to her agent and said “I want paying for this”. I think she said at court that she was “joking”🙄

From what I can gather RV could technically win just because CR doesn’t have absolute proof that it was RV or even her account that leaked the stories. Though the judge could award 1p damages and make them both pay costs.

Isn’t there some law that revealing payments made by journalists to their source, threatens their integrity? That’s why the payments can’t be made known. I dunno maybe i need to get out more or made it up!

I thought the whole idea of being a footballers wife was so you could be filthy rich, get papped out and about and spend your husbands money on clothes, jewellery, cosmetics and cosmetic surgery and live in a velvet mansion whilst not engaging any brain cells and having a bushy life with very little effort other than maintaining your appearance?

Yet, Vardy seems to crave gossip and tittle tattle and relish selling it on! It's not like she needs the money from selling stories so it must be a nasty personality trait that all the wealth in the world can't overcome.

The whole thing makes me uncomfortable. RV from the off has been fame hungry , selling stories and desperate to bag a footballer and live a charmed wife. With CR I don’t see that. She keeps herself to herself and you don’t hear her selling stories or bad mouthing others. Most def CR is the innocent party. It stands out like a sore thumb. And yet RV is the one to take CR to court. She is making herself look like an idiot. That’s what I find uncomfortable as the other side of me is telling me she is doing this for the Fame. She doesn’t care that she isn’t liked. She is making herself high profile. I believe she loves going into court cameras clicking. I find it sad that a fellow female seems to take pleasure in it all. RV must be seriously a sad bitter lady.

I did have a quick peruse this morning and some of the cross examination was hilarious.

Vardy has made herself look utterly ridiculous - and poorer.

Payments have been used in court in the past to prove that people had ulterior motives for their involvement in situations or undermining their claims re their privacy. I can't think of examples off the top if my head but it has happened. I think people have also been done for perjury when denying it.

They are two talentless and tasteless individuals with too much money and time on their hands.

It was Vardy who wanted to go to court but getting what you wished for may not be good. She isn't coming across as a nice person and her tears and saying she feels bullied are not going to work in Court. Take a recess then back for more questioning. As if anyone in those football circles are ever going to invite the Vardys round or mention anything within earshot.

I have no doubt that this litigation, whatever the outcome, will benefit neither Becky nor myself.

This was Coleen speaking on it in court. Compare that to RV and her pigeon comparisons and chipolatas and suggesting she use Coleens dead sister as a way to get her to talk… They aren’t ever in the same league. Team Rooney.

That's been written for her, no doubt at £50 a word but neatly puts the knife in by politely saying its not mty fault we are here. Good article by Marina Hyde in The Guardian on the court case. I did like Colleens Chanel loafer. Out my price range sadly.
