Nice that the busy and important people of Mumsnet are on hand to let us know of their busy and importantness.

Anyway. Team Rooney, obvs. I am terrible for losing phones but I've never dropped one in the North Sea?! Also, Vardy was leaking left, right and centre so it's hardly a huge leap. I've always quite liked Colleen, she's managed to stay quite dignified in the face of her idiot husband's antics. Wagatha Christie was a great day.

I'm constantly surprised by the number of Mumsnetters who click a thread they have no interest in just to tell us they have no interest in it. Do you 'win' something for doing it?

I am intrigued by how much RV's side seems to be taking the absolute piss, the phone with the whatsapp messages that was 'accidentally' dropped into the middle of the north sea was so outrageous I think I'm a bit impressed by the balls on them!

If it were just that, then ok not impossible a phone got dropped in the sea. It was most unfortunate that RV then lost her side of the WhatsApp conversation to a mysterious technical issue when trying to export the data.

Neither. One of them is a control freak who wants to edit everything said a bout her. The other is an insecure gossip. Neither of them have achieved anything that was nt paid for by their husbands. Basically it's a tale of two egos. I hope the judge makes them both pay their own costs because the court should be dealing with cases that actually matter

Team Colleen all the way. I'll never understand why she stays with Wayne but I liked her in the programme she used have on TV.

Vardy - talentless fame whore with no morals. She's ruined her own reputation and her husbands.

I only wish I was on the jury (if there is one).

@Libertaire but the fact remains that if he had said a similar thing about her there would have been hell to pay and it wouldn't have been made in to a comic story. Love him or hate him, he has a point

I’m Team Coleen but there’s a fair chance she will lose. I don’t think there’s reasonable doubt in libel, I think it’s absolute proof. And the Judge has already said that Rooney needs to prove that it was Vardy who made the posts, not anyone else.

I mean, it was clearly Vardy and her team. But was it Vardy alone?

RV has brought this case and seems an absolute snake.

I think it is quite important actually. To see the outcome and if justice can be served when one party serves up what we are hearing.

I read somewhere that cr might not win because it could have been rv or her pr who leaked the stories. But I thought cr only said 'rv's account'?

She did, but a judge decided that was basically the same thing as directly accusing RV herself.

To be fair to Colleen, she has made a shitload of money in her own right- purely off the back of being married to Wayne Rooney mind you.

Libel cases are civil litigation, so are decided on the balance of probabilities.

It would make a good Netflix saga. Honestly Vardy has made herself look mean and spiteful as well as a class A liar.

It’s a civil case so there’s no jury and no reasonable doubt. The judge weighs up the evidence and makes a ruling.

I work with teens. If you gave the 14 year old girls £20 million pounds each this is exactly what you’d see .

I'm not a big fan of either, but there is something really unlikeable about RV.

Team Colleen. It's clear Vardy has been selling stories and the ridiculous loss of evidence is really pissing me off. I just hope the court sees through it!

I think CR should have taken the moral hugh ground, cut RV out of her life, and not exposed her for ridicule.

I also think after the deed was done by CR, RV should have accepted she'd chanced it with all the story telling, you win some you lose some, and kept a low profile for a while, till it'd all blown over. I don't like the libel culture, and think RV should have just shrugged her shoulders and moved on from it.

I can't wait for the Dramatisation, it's all silly and very entertaining.

The whole thing is fascinating. I don’t know who on earth advised RV to take it to court as even if she wins she’s going to come out looking ridiculous.

Yup - this is me.

I'm not a big fan of CR as she stood by her cheating lying DH. But I do think she has a future as a detective.

I must admit I do find it especially shitty that RV was selling stories about CR - a proud Scouse - to that particular paper. Just adds insult to injury.
