I’m always in the lookout for a really emotional song that gives you goosebumps. I currently like ’By your Side’ (Abbey Road Live Version) by Jonas Blue. What’s your favourite beautiful song?

Slipping through my fingers - ABBA oh God I can't even listen to this song. Reminds me of missing my dad so much when my parents split. Imagine my surprise when it turned up in the first Mamma Mia film. I wish someone had warned me!

Matchingcollarandcuffs · 02/07/2022 15:33

ooh and beautiful ones -Prince
Long time dead -shed seven

Adlmum · 02/07/2022 15:37

Lullabye by Billy Joel... the most moving song. Mainly because it reminds me of my dad, who is the best of men. And it says everything he says to me, even though I and my children live on the other side of the planet. I'm so lucky to have him.

StopStartStop · 02/07/2022 15:38
'It's a love song,' he said.

Northern Sky - Nick Drake

Dog Years by Maggie Rogers. Held my baby when they were nursing and cried when listening to this.

TheBermudaTriangle · 02/07/2022 15:54

Aww so many but one that comes to mind, which is a bit quirky, is 'This Must Be The Place' by Talking Heads.

It talks about feeling 'at home' and belonging, and always makes me think of my DH who is 'home' to me.

TheBermudaTriangle · 02/07/2022 15:56

Also 'Say You Love Me' and 'For Your Babies' by Simply Red - oldies but so beautiful.

RosaGallica · 02/07/2022 15:56

For maternal emotions, albeit probably not the upbeat ones you were thinking of op:

Rockabye, clean bandit and
In the Ghetto, Elvis Presley

Bridge over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel. I wasn't born when it was released but my Mum had it on LP and I grew up listening to it.

One of my favourite songs of all time, it’s just beautiful.

Also, Beautiful Love by Julian Cope.

Fisherman's Blue, The Waterboys. Saw them live a few months ago and their version of this was so exquisite it made me cry.

That's such a beautiful song. I have to hear it now!
