What songs stir your emotions?

Driving home and One More light by Linkin Park was on. Gets me right in the feels every time I hear it!

Other songs that make me tear up are:

Wires by Athlete - my youngest child had sepsis as a baby and it takes me right back there every time!

Also Slipping though my fingers - Abba - I have daughters, enough said!

What songs properly stir your emotions?

Anything by Erasure or Genesis makes me want to hurt people, ideally the people who wrote/sing such shite.

Everything I own, Ken Boothe
a friend's mum was a foster carer and died only a few months after her cancer diagnosis, lots of her foster children there, as teens and adults some with families of their own, they had chosen it, some of the lyrics bring a lump to my throat thinking about it even now.

Any big orchestral music at the moment, especially Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov etc. Struggling to come to terms with the fact that I can no longer play in orchestras and if my health continues to deteriorate I might never play to the same standard again. Participating in live classical music has been my social life since the age of 8 so it's hard. Hence any orchestral stuff makes me cry even if it's not particularly sad music.

Songs: ABBA Fernando. Apparently it's about the Mexican Revolution.
Cristina Perri I believe

Some great songs in this thread, some I haven’t thought about for ages, and are making me tear up just remembering the titles!
