Just found out I'm going to be working, but would love to hear about your plans for the extra long weekend next month.

Working

Phos · 02/05/2022 15:30

We'll go along to some of the local events on Thursday and Friday. Might pop to the local 1940s weekend on the Saturday but we jet off on holiday at 6am on Monday morning so Sunday will be spent packing and getting sorted.

torquewench · 02/05/2022 15:31

I'll be on holiday on the Isle of Man watching the TT races. 🏍 🏁 🇮🇲

mast0650 · 02/05/2022 15:32

I won't be getting a long weekend, as my employer doesn't acknowledge bank holidays (I'm fine with that btw). And I'm not all that fussed about royal jubilee tbh. However, my village is having an arts festival at that time, so I will get going to some open air opera on Sat night. Then on Sunday we have having a BIG street party down the High St, so it should be fun

GirlsTalk250 · 02/05/2022 15:35

Street party and fete 🥳

Xenia · 02/05/2022 15:36

Unfortunately my twins who live at home have half their final law exams (final exams of their lives) the week before and half the week after so it is going to be exam central here. Really bad timing.

LubaLuca · 02/05/2022 15:40

We'll be abroad as well. I'm a bit disappointed because there are all sorts of events planned in our village, but my husband hates all the 'flag-waving arseholes' that will be everywhere in real life and on TV.

Elphame · 02/05/2022 16:03

No interest at all in the jubilee and won't be celebrating it so much the same as we would any other long weekend.

hamdden12 · 02/05/2022 16:11

Street party. Doesn't matter if you like the royals or not you can still have a good day with your friends and family.

Oblomov22 · 02/05/2022 16:13

Camping again in our caravan. Just got back. Had the best time. Always go to Dorset for both the May bank holidays.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 02/05/2022 16:14

We’ve got a holiday cottage for the week, but only as it’s half term, not for the jubilee.

AuntieMarys · 02/05/2022 16:16

Decorating and ignoring the whole thing

GreenClock · 02/05/2022 16:19

I’m anti-royal family but happy to take the extra day off! DP and I have a few things planned which won’t involve watching “flag-waving arseholes” as a PP deftly put it, on TV.

Congrats to everyone who will be marrying that weekend.

Blinky21 · 02/05/2022 16:27

Ignoring it as much as possible, hate the jingoistic nonsense

moiraandthebebe · 02/05/2022 16:33

No interest in the Jubilee here but looking forward to a long weekend as I don't work bank holidays. Haven't had DH's shifts through yet so unsure if we'll be doing things as a family or alone yet but hopefully he gets at least one day off through it.

Mulhollandmagoo · 02/05/2022 16:34

Our local civic hall has planned a family fun day, me and my daughter will be going to that. My husband is working all four of the days though, so other than that nothing

carefullycourageous · 02/05/2022 16:35

Nothing for the Jubilee as I am not member of the Royal family Grin

MrsEmmelinePankhurst · 02/05/2022 16:37

Celebrating my own big birthday and ignoring the jubilee completely

DinosaursEatMan · 02/05/2022 16:37

Nothing much. Gardening if the weather is fine, maybe a day trip somewhere local with scenery and few people. Definitely will be avoiding street parties!

AvonCallingBarksdale · 02/05/2022 16:39

DH is away, DC are about to sit exams and I have a very dim view of the Royals so will just take advantage of two extra days off and chill at home. I’d be happy if we didn’t have a RF tbh 🤷‍♀️

Sqeebling · 02/05/2022 16:48

Going to a party but not to celebrate the Jubilee

Sqeebling · 02/05/2022 16:48

But taking full advantage of the long weekend

PortalooSunset · 02/05/2022 17:17

Friend's birthday party which we'll have to travel for so I'm hoping everyone else is sitting in pub gsrfens/having barbecues/Street parties and just generally staying off the roads 😂

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 02/05/2022 17:20

Going to the pub
