@DoubleShotEspresso You might be needing a chiropractors number very soon. How are you not lopsided!

People who just use pockets, how do you remember everything? If I try to go out without my bag (which apart from my phone stays packed) I invariably forget something vital, like keys.

I carry a bum bag 95% of the time, it's convenient as a wheelchair user because I can't access pockets as easily.
It has pockets to separate things so they don't get lost.

phone
keys with a dimple stim toy and loop earplugs on the keyring
bus card
couple of silent stim toys for work etc
communication cards and medical alert cards
ID
purse with cards, any cash, usually a few old receipts, library card etc
mask

If I'm out for the day/ using public transport, getting food etc, I also carry:
water
plain snacks
ear defenders
adaptive cutlery
straws
diet coke zero caffeine, for nausea
wheelchair charger
folding walking stick
portable charger for phone
painkillers
tens machine
emergency antihistamines
more spare masks

That all goes in a rucksack or in the basket on my wheelchair though.

@colouringfoxes, I’m a pockets user. I only have about 4 or 5 items. I don’t often forget items because there are so few and I don’t forget my keys because I’m usually driving and I need them to start the car.

PuppyPowerTool · 02/05/2022 21:20

No bag. Phone and 2 keys. That's all. I use Google pay for everything (which isn't a lot!)

Actually I've had a back injury since giving birth but still unresolved!?! But you're not wrong-this sounds perhaps a lot but all fits in a standard tote bag which comes everywhere with me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Time40 · 02/05/2022 21:43

It depends where I'm going, and how long I'm going out for. If it's not far, and for a short time ... not much. If it's an entire day ... oh my god, I wish I didn't need to carry so much stuff around.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned on this thread is a tape measure. I'm very rarely without one. It's so useful - I don't know how people manage without a tape measure. (I have a legendary moment of being in a tricky situation up a mountain in a distant foreign country, when we suddenly desperately needed a tape measure ... the people I was travelling with were astonished - and very pleased - when I produced one.)

whataloadabullocks · 02/05/2022 21:54

Generally don't have a bag. Phone in one pocket, keys in the other have key ring which has a tiny cylinder with a £20 folded in for emergencies.

Fair enough! I can't even reliably remember phone, purse, keys if I'm going without my bag

Plus

RampantIvy · 02/05/2022 23:07

Am I the only person who doesn't need to carry a water bottle around with me?

If I am out for a while day I would stop for something to eat and a cup of tea. If I am out shopping for a couple of hours I don't feel the need to drink anything at all. I drink tea and water at home and at work and am well hydrated.

What the hell? Your cleaner went in your handbag? She’d be sacked. That’s extremely weird and not her job. She has no right to go in your bag. I hope you’ve had major words.

There’s sod all in my bag, painkillers, lip balm, keys. I mainly use it to convey my lunch.
