I don’t really use a handbag anymore. I just put stuff in my pockets, usually

phone
debit card, sometimes whole purse.

Do you live somewhere other than the UK or are you a time traveller? Grin

Since the pandemic I no longer keep a bag. I have some bag things on my desk at home, and when I'm going out I select what I need. It means that I also change bags more often and use more of what I have rather than sticking withthe one that's packed as it's quickest. It also means that my bag is always clean and light.

Wallet
tissues
lip balm
sanitiser
lotion
snack
earbuds
phone

Marty13 · 02/05/2022 11:56

No wonder people can never find anything while digging through their bags....

I carry :

  • Wireless headphones in my front left pocket

  • House keys in my front right

  • Work badge back left pocket

  • Money back right pocket

  • Phone clipped on my belt

Don't need anything else.

InMySpareTime · 02/05/2022 12:01

My bag always contains Chocolate coins (in case I see someone who could do with receiving one)
I may also have a small jigsaw to pass the time, my wallet if I am going to spend money, and my keys clipped onto the bag handle, and sometimes a sheet of stickers. But there are always chocolate coins.

I don't have young children, I just like stickers.

Meter cupboard keys
Client keys
Shoe covers
Hand cleaner

And then my purse.

Purplecatshopaholic · 02/05/2022 12:46

A friends baby and a fire walk medal? Mine is boring by comparison .. All my handbags have the usual malarkey plus have pens and dog poo bags at the bottom and generally at least one of those sewing kits you get free in hotels..

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/05/2022 18:37

So mine weighs an absolute tonne and listing this makes me realise just why:

-Car keys for mine and my parents car
-zapper for entry gate
-Radar key
-Books x 2
-Diary and pens in a big ouch which also holds lots of medical/disability related paperwork for D.C.
-Epipen for myself
-Fidget toys
-Sanitiser
-Spare contact lenses
-Antihistamines and migraine tablets & rollerball thing that supposedly helps headaches
-Colouring set in zip up thing for D.C.
-Reading books for D.C.
-EA 8 hour cream
-Baby wipes
-First aid kit

  • Sewing kit

SweetPetrichor · 02/05/2022 19:42

I try to keep as streamlined as possible:
purse
keys
glasses cloth
phone

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 02/05/2022 19:47

House key
Work keys
Sanitizer
Visual prompt cards
Lip balm
Hand cream
Glasses case
Face mask
Inhaler
A felt tip
A rubber
Pencil sharpener
USB stick

SunshineCake · 02/05/2022 19:50

Off the top of my head as my bag's upstairs.

purse
pencil case with pens
diary
pad
tissues
hand cream
hand sanitiser
face masks
book
cloth bag for shopping

Can't remember anything else but it feels like there must be more things in there.

reluctantbrit · 02/05/2022 20:09

tiny purse with two cards and a bit of cash (loyalty cards are all on apps now)
tissues
keys
nasal spray
1-2 plasters
small pack of wet wipes

I downsized handbags since lockdown significantly and often just take phone and keys if I go shopping.

For days out I take a larger bag with a couple of other things like painkillers and more plasters, antihistamines and a snack/water bottle.

lucysmam · 02/05/2022 20:22

Purse
Small purse for earphones
Small bag with tissues, tampons, brush, nail file
Work pass & whistle
Playdough (for work in the morning)

It's actually quite empty for me but only because it's broken & I haven't decided which to swap for yet 🤷‍♀️

Keys will go in in the morning, as will travel mug and phone, on my way out.

colouringfoxes · 02/05/2022 20:51

People who just use pockets, how do you remember everything? If I try to go out without my bag (which apart from my phone stays packed) I invariably forget something vital, like keys.

I carry a bum bag 95% of the time, it's convenient as a wheelchair user because I can't access pockets as easily.
It has pockets to separate things so they don't get lost.

phone
keys with a dimple stim toy and loop earplugs on the keyring
bus card
couple of silent stim toys for work etc
communication cards and medical alert cards
ID
purse with cards, any cash, usually a few old receipts, library card etc
mask

If I'm out for the day/ using public transport, getting food etc, I also carry:
water
plain snacks
ear defenders
adaptive cutlery
straws
diet coke zero caffeine, for nausea
wheelchair charger
folding walking stick
portable charger for phone
painkillers
tens machine
emergency antihistamines
more spare masks

That all goes in a rucksack or in the basket on my wheelchair though.
