Movie scenes that make you cringe (not embarrassing cringe, sick cringe)

Currently watching frozen (the one where the three skiers are stuck on the chair lift).

the scene where Dan jumps down and both legs break and the bone is poking through the skin. My god. I felt both sick to the stomach and a massive cringe.

This is the scene if anyone feels brave enough

Also, hostel, I think it was, where one of the characters had his Achilles heels cut. That scream

Ok I will probably never watch Frozen again.

This film has gotten worse and I have never felt so sick during a movie Envy

You know this thread is going to be full of people confused between Frozen (gory) and Frozen (let it gooooo) right?!

Soubriquet · 27/04/2022 20:53

Which is why it said (the three skiers in the chairlift) in the first post Grin

The pavement biting scene in American History X - shudder

Clickncollect · 27/04/2022 20:55

I mean kerb biting!

Teeth meet kerb in American History X

The BDSM dentistry scene in Dogs Don't Wear Pants haunts me. It's horrific.

The cuticle picking scene in Black Swan. A hangnail escalates into peeling the skin up the back of her hand and arm. Tbh, I bring this one to mind when tempted to pick at my own cuticles...

ToastandJamandTea · 27/04/2022 20:59

One of the Saw movies where you find out why jigsaw is motivated. His wife is working in a hospital and heavily pregnant when an addict is stealing pills and running away he throws open the swinging door onto her belly.
Of all the deeply grotesque and disturbing things in that franchise.... That's the most awful scene for me

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 27/04/2022 21:04

100% the kerb biting scene. Even it getting mentioned made my stomach flip!

HumunaHey · 27/04/2022 21:06

I still thought of Frozen (let it go) as I never never knew another film by the same title existed. Although I thought it must be Frozen 2 as I couldn't recall three stuck skiers.

TheVolturi · 27/04/2022 21:08

One of the Hannibal Lecter Films where he's cutting out bits of brain while the person is still alive (and frying it to eat I think?) long time ago that I saw that but fucking hell. Put me right off my kebab.

maeveiscurious · 27/04/2022 21:08

The Decent where the caves start to collapse 🤢

JustPickleRick · 27/04/2022 21:09

House of wax and also hostel- they both contain a scene where the achillies heel is sliced through 🤢 it makes me cringe so bad, toe curling stuff!

Soubriquet · 27/04/2022 21:09

Yeah there’s another film called Frozen made in 2010 starring Shawn Ashmore, Emma Bell and Kevin Zegers

Blades of Glory - when he slides across the ice on his bare chest and ends up bleeding from the nipples

Xtraincome · 27/04/2022 21:11

Irreversible- not the Monica Lewinsky scene in the underground- the scene where the boyfriend repeatedly smashes the bad guy in the face with a fire extinguisher. I swear that happened for real as he flesh splatters away bit by bit down to his skull 💀

American History X kerb biting scene

fourofwands · 27/04/2022 21:11

In Carrie, after she has crucified her mother, and she pulls her back down...the popping sound the knives make as they come back out of the wood

ImplementingTheDennisSystem · 27/04/2022 21:12

Agree with the kerb biting in American History X. Horrifying!

FleurDeLizz · 27/04/2022 21:14

When we were soldiers, when they’re doing a medivac and pick someone up by his legs and the skin slides off

I have never heard of the former - I was feeling increasingly puzzled as I raked my ageing brain to reconcile the OP's description with the Disney film I dozily half-watched after Christmas four years ago.

Queenoftheashes · 27/04/2022 21:19

Oh my god that was grim

mine is the scene in killer whale where he strings up the mother orca and she miscarries - and a full on baby whale falls out of her on to the ship’s deck

Every so often I think of this scene, whilst desperately trying not too. It was just horrific.

Queenoftheashes · 27/04/2022 21:23

Sorry I think my example was Called orca not killer whale if anyone wanted to watch it 😂

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 27/04/2022 21:23

Quiet place where she steps on the nail.

Oculus...she thinks and sees she is biting into a apple but turns out to be a light bulb

Does it happen before or after they build a snowman?
