To be honest, everything he said is true though. So it's not stoking up hate.

'JaniieJones I think you mean Durham work event'

I'm sorry I can't keep up. So, Labour beer and takeaways at 10pm is a work event but Conservatives doing similar is a 'party'. Riiiiight. Can you not understand why Sir Starmer QC is getting non stop ridicule for this?

The police investigated Durham and concluded no law had been broken. It always was perfectly permissible to have a beer whilst working.

The police investigated the birthday event and concluded the law had been broken. It was never permissible to have a non-essential work gathering to eat birthday cake with the birthday boy's wife and interior decorator present, to say nothing of a photographer.

Do you understand the difference now, @JaniieJones? One broke the law, one didn't. To say nothing of the fact that the one who broke the law not only was responsible for making the law but lied about it repeatedly to Parliament. It really is quite a big difference, you shouldn't be struggling this hard to understand it.

'The police investigated Durham and concluded no law had been broken'

Yes yes we know that however we also know booze and curry at 10pm is indoor socialising so whether Durham police with their labour PCC found no law had been broken we all know Sir Starmer have made himself & pals look very, very silly.

The curry allegation has been demonstrated to be Daily Mail fiction. It's the Mail and Dorries who look very, very silly.

Ahhhh Durham police are now corrupt are they? Because there is a Labour PCC. Oh do give over, this is ridiculous. It's actually Sir Keir but you know that of course.

I hate to say it, but you are making yourself look very silly now when it has been explained again and again and again.

See notonthestairs post at 19.21 and Luculentus just now.

All this nonsense will stop somewhat when Thursday elections have happened. And when the next lot of FPNs are issued.
It's desperation

Yes, it’s Starmer looking silly here Hmm

Derxa, I am Scottish, thanks. Your sentence before made it sound like Nicolson was Labour, obviously unintentionally.

I don't agree that that is what he is doing. Notwithstanding, hatred against Tories in Scotland has been successfully managed by the Tories themselves for decades. It sure doesn't need stoking.

I've known about John Nicholson for decades. He's 2 years younger than me and he went to the same University. He was an excellent TV journalist. But now he's a politician not an impartial saint.

derxa · 02/05/2022 20:37

Meanwhile back to the snooker...

Piggywaspushed · 02/05/2022 20:51

No, Nicolson is not impartial, and there is no requirement that he should be. There is no reason why he shouldn't say what he has to say about the whole stuff and nonsense as many politicians are. This does not mean he is 'stoking hatred'.

As an aside , was an audience member on Open to Question many years ago when he was host. Krishnan Gurumurthy was planted in the audience every week to ask questions, I now assume as part of is journalistic training. I got to be in the audience with Denis Healey. Those were the days!

Piggywaspushed · 02/05/2022 20:51

I was an audience member. Pronoun missing there!

I retract 'stoking hatred' M'Lud Grin

DuncinToffee · 02/05/2022 20:59

Just have a hug like Ronnie and Judd Grin

derxa · 02/05/2022 21:00

Grin I'm welling up here

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2022 21:00

I can't believe that Steven Hendry's record has been equaled !

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2022 21:02

I fancy Judd though, so feel a bit sorry for him
I love his accent, his eyes! Too young for me :(

SueSaid · 02/05/2022 18:05

But it's just a link from a DM article? She isn't suggesting it is a snap from the actual Durham party! it clearly states 'stock image' underneath.

An 'embarrassment', a 'fruit loop' and a 'hypocrite'. I mean, yes you're entitled to your own opinion yet if i pointed out Rayner is an embarrassment and a massive hypocrite I'd have 'You've been mentioned in a post' pings on my phone within seconds Grin.

@JaniieJones While you are about, any chance of a link to where Boris explained that those who were working together during lockdowns could have parties at work.
I ask because I would like to take it up with DS school why he wasn't allowed a birthday party at that time.

jgw1 · 02/05/2022 21:33

derxa · 02/05/2022 19:51

He's SNP and he's stoking up hatred against the Tories who are stronger in Scotland than Labour.

@dexra there are one or two posters on here who like stoking up hatred of the Tories as well. You can tell who they are by the way they try and defend the government, some have suggested they are in the employ of nasty Tory Party HQ, but I find that quite impossible to believe because their defence of the parties is just so ridiculous.

jgw1 · 02/05/2022 21:34

Roussette · 02/05/2022 19:55

The problem may be that some people find the truth hateful.

Yes indeed someone does look very, very silly.

But I am not sure it is "Sir Starmer" who needs a mirror to find out who.

Peregrina · 02/05/2022 21:40

I thought, My God, an honest Tory. Then I found that he was Scottish, so perhaps that doesn't count?

Peregrina · 02/05/2022 21:42

I have to admit, it's scraping the barrel even for the Tories when they have to try to show that 'Sir Starmer' broke lockdown laws by dining with the dead. I think that would count as a miracle rather than law breaking.
