Crisp Sandwich Filling

Talk to me about your favourite crisp sandwich filling

I’ll start…. White bread, grate cheese, coleslaw and salt and vinegar crisps (must be walkers as I’m a crisp snob of the lowest standard)

Fresh bread white or batch (2 slices ).
Butter (wedge shaped chunks) .
Crisps (1 pack) .

Side hot tea ( strong ) .

thick white bread, tuna Mayo (lots of Mayo) and prawn cocktail crisps. Yummmm

White bread, butter, thin slice corn beef (ideally from M&S), salt and vinegar (golden wonder are best).

I've never had one and now I think I must've been missing out!

Warburtons medium sliced bread, lurpak, thickly spread and walkers cheese and onion crisps. There can be only one!

White bread. Butter. Cheese and onion. Preferably kettle chips or mccoys.

I low carb to control my diabetes (so no meds) I can't eat bread or crisps... I LOVE crisp sandwiches. <sob>

all you 'normal' people, make the most of being able to enjoy them and think of me! I'll take the calories if you take the carbs!!

as for favourites...

I don't have one, I like most!! But right now I'd go for fresh bread, butter, avocado & s&v, but wouldn't say 'no' to any that are vegetarian!!

Really surprised by the number of people who add anything other than crisps.

Warburton’s white with generous slices of Lurpak which the Wotsits can sink into is my favourite. Unfortunately I live in a country where none of these ingredients are available so i can but dream.

Unsalted butter, thickly spread
Pickled onion Space Raiders
A layer of Skips for garnish/a melty contrast to the crunch of the Space Raiders

Salt & Vinegar Discos – the sort that desiccate your mouth – are particularly good

Also a tuna (made with salad cream) sandwich with cheese Doritos just adds a nice crunch 😍

A toasty loaf for white bread. Dairylee type spread cheese. Tangy Tom's, prawn cocktail crisps or wotsits. Anything else is just wrong!

Hovis white, lots of real butter, Walkers cheese and onion. Only Walkers, mind. Anything else is an abomination. And no to cucumber, Philadelphia, marmite etc. That is NOT a crisp sandwich, that is a sandwich with crisps

Slightly off topic, but I've just remembered I've got a bag of giant prawn cocktail wotsits. This has made my Sunday!

I have never had a crisp sandwich. Must rectify immediately. How about this:

white bread, plastic cheese slice toasted in panini maker until melted. Open, put in crisps.

White bread, butter and wotsits/frazzles/cheese and onion. Love all these suggestions, especially space raiders with added layer of skips or using dairylea or marmite, I need to experiment! That's my lunches planned for the week 😂

White bread, thick layer of Connacht Gold spread (butter with extra cream so it’s spreadable, cold enough and doesn’t taste of any weird ingredients), RoI Tayto cheese and onion .

The addition of a slice of cheese is optional for days when you’re low-carbing do that the percentage of carbs drops

Noooo ! The warmth would make the crisps go soggy and you couldn’t crunch them into the bread . No need for cheese at all !
