I think I'll be falling asleep in front of the FA cup.

We've just had prawn cocktail, roast lamb with roasties and yorkies (yes yorkies fucking do belong in all roasts) crumble and custard, and 5 bottles of wine between 4 adults.

Anyone else going to sleep now?

Fab. We don't mark the day here, but I was very merry Thursday night celebrating a 4 day weekend!

SandandFog · 17/04/2022 17:58

Aw that sounds lovely. I feel miserable, I've got covid, feel unwell and my dc and husband went to roll their eggs without me. I've always loved Easter but I feel miserable. Bloody covid

@Joyfulflowers

Currently sitting in the garden in a post dinner slump polishing off the bottle of Sancerre my lovely ds bought for me

Dinner (prepped by me, cooked by dh) was

Roast lamb, York puds, roast potatoes, carrots and peas

Homemade Easter cupcakes topped with mini eggs

Feeling a bit sleepy now 🤣

Perfect day

Sancerre - excellent child rearing 👏

Roast lamb tonight with yorkies. Celebrating with a Diet Coke which I have been off for lent. Lucky to work in an office so have tomorrow off as well.

Feel justified after long week. Found out I still have a job after possible redundancy (yay!). Then church kicked in. A very special time but tiring.

Nidan2Sandan · 17/04/2022 18:12

I'm toying with the idea of opening the wine, but I drank alot on friday so.........

No roast here (have a roast chicken for tomorrow) but I have chucked some tesco pizzas and chicken nuggets in the oven! Grin

ImInStealthMode · 17/04/2022 18:13

Late to the party, DP's just putting the lamb in now and I'll open the red wine in a bit. I'll be full of lamb and pissed in a couple of hours Smile

AbsoluteTruths · 17/04/2022 18:38

Same op. Roast lamb, parsnips, spring greens, yorkshire puddings, red wine gravy followed by hot chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. On the second bottle of Red. Happy Easter! I don't even celebrate Easter as a very lapsed catholic but it was a lovely dinner nonetheless.

EastHer · 17/04/2022 18:42

I don’t drink these days, but I’ve just had an epic roast dinner. Chicken and a ham here (don’t like lamb) & pigs in blankets…but I forgot the Yorkshire puds!!! DC not impressed at all.

About to get stuck into some Haagen Daz Dulce Leche, probably finished off with tea & Easter eggs later. Diet starts tomorrow 😆

Gorgeous Mass this morning following a special Triduum, so lovely to be worshipping in person with music, flowers, candles, incense etc after the last two years.

I cooked a huge lunch (and cleared up/cleaned the kitchen ) but DH and I only had a couple of glasses of cava as had to be compos mentis to complete oldest DC’s egg scavenger hunt (they get more intricate and difficult every year!).

DC have foraged their own tea, am about to pour the last of the cava into a glass for me and chill.

julesover40 · 17/04/2022 18:47

Too nice a day here for a roast so we had a bbq. Lots of pimms and now watching a film with dad and having a wine. Debating opening an egg, and feeling full, tired and happy x

Oblomov22 · 17/04/2022 18:55

Sounds perfect. Enjoy.
We are in our caravan in Dorset, watched the FA cup match from our huge bed.

Mumdiva99 · 17/04/2022 19:02

I'm impressed you can still type coherently. I was with family today....premier inn breakfast, maccy d's lunch, Subway tea.....prosecco, a lager and vodka and coke next. A side of Tony's mini eggs and a movie tonight.

Littleelffriend · 17/04/2022 19:02

I don’t know what lamb tastes like. I do know what wine tastes like

Pistepersistence · 17/04/2022 19:03

Full of lamb and Prosecco here! Also a bit too much chocolate and am now craving fruit.

gogohm · 17/04/2022 19:10

Stuffed still 6 hours later from lamb and all the trimmings but on first drink now - had to drive home!

Dogsaresomucheasier · 17/04/2022 19:14

Me too! Brilliant, isn’t it!

gingercat02 · 17/04/2022 19:15

Lamb has 10 mins. Second bottle of red open and breathing. Rhubarb crumble ready to go in the oven when the meat potatoes and yorkies come out. Happy Easter MN

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 17/04/2022 19:15

Woah, hope you’ve got a pack of Rennies Grin.
Veggie roast here so no Lamb, also been a bit too hot and sunny for perfect roast weather but what the hell. Cherry pie and custard for pudding - once the roast has gone down though!

Rookiemistake · 17/04/2022 19:21

An amazing BBQ with Wagyu beef steaks and lots of delish salad. Washed down with a couple of bottles of Lanson and some gin cocktails.
Sat with a cup of tea now whilst DC are playing computer games. Feeling more relaxed than I have in a very long time.

mbosnz · 17/04/2022 19:32

We are going to have a very late leg o'lamb - it's just about to go in the oven! Bless DH, he's cooking it as ever. With roasties, garlic creamy mash, and seasonal greens.

Followed by creme brulee. (Top tip - marry a man who loves to cook, but hates to meal plan).

I'm possibly getting a head start on the wine. . .

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/04/2022 19:41

Big two course meal, big longggg walk, chocolate, changed into pj shorts and a big jumper and halfway asleep watching an old rom com - delightful. I give myself till 8pm before I'm asleep

Mooshering · 17/04/2022 19:44

Well, the lamb is fully digested, we opened another bottle of wine this eve and started watching Alien, and now we've ordered a pizza.

Happy Jesus day all. I'm sure Jesus loves mozzarella and pepperoni 🙏🙏🙏

Feeling jealous of the Yorkshire puds.
We're away in Cumbria for the weekend.
9 mile walk today proving how unfit I am.
Fried egg sarnies for tea followed by Easter egg.
Proper classy.

JanePrentiss · 17/04/2022 19:49
