Foreign holiday.
I'm packed and wondering what I may have forgotten.

Usually I forget things like a bit of first aid stuff or a charger cable.

Went on holiday and DFriend forgot shampoo. She used half my small bottle in one go, so she wasn't allowed any more.

Have remembered something I forgot - a white bra to wear under a new top.

@Wineinthegarden

Not quite packing but friends of mine (honest!) forgot the baby. Halfway down the road with a jammed car and baby was in the car seat back at home.
I’ve done that, but I only got a couple of miles (about 5 mins here!) and I wasn’t going on holiday.
Theunamedcat · 17/04/2022 20:37

I also forgot my pants! I had two pairs randomly one on one in my bag because I was trying to pack and got distracted I went to a charity shop looking for a cheap coat found two packs of the world's most comfy knickers (brand new obviously) and bought those instead

BlancmanegeBunny · 17/04/2022 21:01

Best one was exdh suit trousers when we went to his sister's wedding 250 miles away!

DueyCheatemAndHow · 17/04/2022 21:03

DH forgot swimwear for a 2 week Indian Ocean holiday!

BigFatLiar · 17/04/2022 21:06

Not me - DH - went on a business trip to the States took the wrong suitcase so ended up in Chicago with my clothes that I keep for work. He had to buy new stuff for himself there, thank heaven for credit cards.

WhiteFire · 17/04/2022 21:17

Wasn't forgotten as such but we arrived on holiday and ds absolutely refused to use the loo as it had a cistern tablet and the water was coloured (later diagnosed with autism) . He hadn't been potty trained long but we hadn't taken a potty, he wasn't night dry so he had to wear nappies until we could buy a potty the next day.

Forgotten though: underwear, hair brushes, shampoo, comb, toothbrushes and toothpaste, probably more, but I generally have the attitude of we can buy what we forget (only ever in UK) Having to buy a jumper though as I had totally forgotten one and then it went cold even though it was June.

lightand · 17/04/2022 21:19

Nothing much nowadays.
Could have done with a cup on the last trip, that was it.

Bit more of an overpacker than an underpacker.

Beeinmybonnets · 17/04/2022 21:26

I'm usually a good packer, but just back from hols where I forgot earplugs, rennie and suncream

Laiste · 17/04/2022 21:28

Turkey. Forgot to check what the weather will actually be like at that time of year!

Had not long come back from Egypt (95 in the shade) and just chucked the same stuff back in the bag.

HmmHmmHmm

It was bloody freezing and rained every bloody day and i had ONE pair of leggings and ONE fleece and i had to wear them every day. I was washing the leggings out in the hotel room every night and sitting somewhere different at breakfast each day to attempt to disguise the fact i was the woman with only one set of clothes Hmm

Every sodding photo of me was in these leggings and this fleece (in the rain).

Never again.

Shoes. Luckily we had a stopover at SIL house so popped into the local Asda and bought several pairs.

Thefrenchconnection1 · 17/04/2022 21:41

We have forgotten:

Pillows on a caravan holiday
Dental floss (used by DH to get food out of his teeth so quite critical)
DDs PJ's
Coats
Paracetamol
Anti histamine
Bite cream
Squash (they don't sell it much in France)
My dad forgot his driving licence when needing to rent a car

fossilsmorefossils · 17/04/2022 21:47

Socks. In winter. Vacationing in a remote place. Couldn't buy socks. Ended up washing the pair I had on every night and drying them on the heater.

Pack socks. And your own brand of sanpro, you don't want to buy foreign sanpro you might not like, we all have a particular taste for sanpro.

HomeprideSaucy · 17/04/2022 21:49

Hats and gloves for February half term trip to north Wales (we had to go to Tesco in Bangor and buy new ones for everyone).
I often forget anything to tie my hair back with - in particular the headband I wear to keep my hair off my face when I'm removing my make up.

Housetreecar · 17/04/2022 21:52

My husband went on a beach holiday with no shorts and a work trip with no shirts

PalmLady · 17/04/2022 21:55

Razor, cotton buds, nail cutters, chargers, adaptor plugs, sunglasses, hat, cream, deodorant, knickers.

Bloodybridget · 17/04/2022 21:55

We have taken the electric toothbrush, but not the base.

caringcarer · 17/04/2022 21:56

Medication when away for 6 weeks. I had to get my son to post it to me.

greenlynx · 17/04/2022 21:58

We always forget something when going away but it’s manageable. The biggest problem was when we were a bit remote and forgot my mobile phone charger.
I have bad dreams often that we’re going away and I forgot clothes/ make up/ passports/ gifts for relatives. I usually wake up absolutely terrified.

HypeRactivity · 17/04/2022 21:59

My clothes, packed everything for the kids got to our lovely caravan in Devon and realised I’d only brought one vest top a pair of knickers and pyjamas shorts Grin had to go shopping and buy some essentials.

dalmatianmad · 17/04/2022 22:03

I'm going to Portugal tomorrow morning with DD and DGS. Reading this has made me realise I haven't packed any underwear 😳

BangingOn · 17/04/2022 22:05

Tweezers when staying in a remote treehouse in Kenya. I had a monobrow by the end of the holiday.

LetitiaLeghorn · 17/04/2022 22:07

Shoes. I went on a cruise and only had the sheepskin boots I travelled in. 🤦
