Do you think the queen is really poorly?

As in dying 😔. I know she is very old and fragile at 95 but I do wonder if she is trying to keep going until the Royal jubilee.

I think she is very close with her personal dresser. Angela something??

It’s disgusting how everything gets laid at Harry and Megan’s door when her own son is absolutely reprehensible. Somehow and i don’t know how I get updates from a website called Quora. I must have fallen down a rabbit hole late one night. But the vitriol spewed on there about Meghan is alarming.

derxa · 14/04/2022 22:46

My GM said ‘going off your legs’ I love that phrase.

Favourodds · 14/04/2022 22:46

Judging by her DMum, there could be another 6 years to go.

Yes. Exactly. Life expectancy at 95 isn't great, even in the best case scenario!

Or today's visit may have been to broker a deal with the Sussex's to keep their dabs off Prince Charles and Camilla before it's too late.

Fulmine · 14/04/2022 22:46

@chinabunny

"I don't think they've rushed to do anything of the sort. The topic of H&M has simply arisen because they have been visiting today"

You only have to look at the first few pages of this thread to see that's not true.

I wasn't saying it was untrue that some people were criticising, I was saying it was untrue to say they had rushed to do so.
wanttomarryamillionaire · 14/04/2022 22:46

@Spaghag

I didn't think anything was amiss until I heard that Harry & Meghan have visited today in secret. Meghan does nothing in secret usually.

HM is 95. Frailty is to be expected. Mobility issues too. Today's visit however has more the vibe of a grandson saying goodbye than a scheduled family get together.

I hope I'm wrong.

This is exactly what I thought when i read that H & M have visited in secret.
Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2022 22:46

No, she's just having mobility issues. Not surprising at almost 96.

TheUsualChaos · 14/04/2022 22:48

I don't read much into the Harry and Megan visit really. They haven't seen her for about 2 years and probably just a case of doing the dutiful call in on the grandparent while they're "in the area".

Meltinthemiddle · 14/04/2022 22:48

I'm glad H and M made the visit to see her and hopefully the rest of the family. She is frail and we never know when it will be the last time we see someone.

Viviennemary · 14/04/2022 22:48

I think she is just taking it easy.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2022 22:49

@jay55

Yes, for her to miss Easter service is a big deal I think.
She won't miss it. It will just be held in her private chapel. Honestly you lot are like vultures waiting for her to die.
DragonMamma · 14/04/2022 22:50

My grandad is the same age as the Queen. He could not have done what she has done the last 5 or so years. Whilst not a royalist, the queen has done incredibly well to do as much has she has for all this time - poor woman needs to rest and enjoy what years she has left.

RosesAndHellebores · 14/04/2022 22:51

viviennemary She may well be taking it easy. She may even be on MNet - part of the old Royalty Grin.

Parker231 · 14/04/2022 22:51

@DoctorSnortles

Poor Queen. Imagine feeling knackered and poorly and then bloody Harry turns up with that wife of his. Not going to perk her up, is it?
As a grandmother I’m sure she will be delighted to see her grandson. For all we know they have regular zoom calls to keep in touch.
OctopusSay · 14/04/2022 22:52

I think it is significant that H&M have visited when they said they absolutely wouldn't, but it was tied in with an already arranged trip and whilst they might be thinking it will be their last opportunity, that could be because they don't plan to come back any time soon.

I also think the Queen must be very unwell to miss Easter Sunday, but that at could be a "normal" amount of unwell after having Covid, not necessarily desperately ill.

Princess Anne is in Australia, so....

Squiff70 · 14/04/2022 22:53

I said the very same thing to DP when the evening news presenter on ITV said that the Queen would not be attending the Easter Sunday service.

The Queen is a religious lady. As I understand it, Christian festivals such as Easter would be very important to her on a personal level and it worries me greatly that she won't be attending this year, especially as so many other recent engagements have been cancelled or attended by other members of her family instead.

Worrying indeed.

AnastasiaRomanov · 14/04/2022 22:54

Osteoporosis?

OctopusSay · 14/04/2022 22:54

Princess Anne is 71 and still working hard and looking amazing too.

BoredZelda · 14/04/2022 22:55

Harry and Megan coming over with no fanfare or warning after saying they would do nothing of the sort surely tells us something.

Or, given the issues around security, they did it quietly for their safety. Or, if they made a big deal of it, there would be more shit written about them in the press. Or, not everything they do needs to be reported to us.

AnastasiaRomanov · 14/04/2022 22:57

Harry said he would visit the Queen as soon as he could, a few weeks ago.
I don’t expect either of them will be back again for some considerable time.

FrecklesMalone · 14/04/2022 23:01

@MsFogi

I suspect the stress of Harry and Meghan popping in will tip her over the edge.
Stop reading the shitty press

Bingo. Monarchs do plan the timing and announcement of their death to make a point - the Queen’s father George VI took a fatal morphine overdose to an alarm set at the hour the morning Times could run the news, deliberately too late for the evening papers.
That is not true. George V (Queens grandfather) is rumoured to have been given a lethal injection of painkillers in his last hours so his death (inevitable) would make the "right" edition of the papers.

George VI was unwell but died in his sleep, unexpectedly.

Tunnocksmallow · 14/04/2022 23:01

Even if Queenie is unwell, can you blame her at 95 for wanting to just stay indoors and not do anything? Yes, she’s always done her duty and put ‘the crown’ first, but, she’s lost her beloved husband, she’s had Covid, there’s always someone in the family trying to bring shame. Maybe she just wants to have her own private Easter service, eat some Easter eggs, snuggle the corgis and watch some Antiques Roadshow.

My Nan is 90, she can’t be arsed to pop over the road to the Co-Op most days.
Let the nonagenarians have a rest I say.

it was her grandfather George V. And he didn't make the decision; his doctor did. The King would not have lived more than a few days longer at most anyway; but technically the doctor killed him.

Auld age disnae come itsel..

I hope she has got her feet up, is watching re-runs of Vera and Midsomer Murders and has a half drunk bottle of Baileys in the fridge.
