Do you think the queen is really poorly?

As in dying 😔. I know she is very old and fragile at 95 but I do wonder if she is trying to keep going until the Royal jubilee.

She sounded very hale and hearty and on the ball the other day when there was a news clip of her doing a Zoom call with someone.

Harry and Meghan are taking the chance to see her as they were flying over to Europe anyway for the Invictus games. Not to do so would be regarded as a hell of a snub, and even Harry realises that.

Icecreamandapplepie · 14/04/2022 22:26

Harry and Megan coming over with no fanfare or warning after saying they would do nothing of the sort surely tells us something.

@longwayoff

It's likely she is more unwell than we know. The Sussex couple have come so something must have moved them.
The Invictus games is what moved them.
RosesAndHellebores · 14/04/2022 22:26

@doctorsnortles to many whilst Prince Harry may be that "bloody Harry" to the Queen, he is her grandson - always was and always will be. Perhaps she asked to see him and the Duchess.

Wagsandclaws · 14/04/2022 22:27

I think the speculation is horrible. She's alive, well and truly for all we know and I hope she makes 100!

VodselForDinner · 14/04/2022 22:27

@SpringIsSprung1

I'm going to say what I'm sure a lot of Royalists are probably thinking... Those two have caused so much anguish for the Queen that they haven't exactly done much to ease her into her final years. Although she will forgive them. Her achievements have been phenomenal.
And thankfully her own children have done nothing to cause her anguish.

Prince Andrew nobly by her side, supporting her, never causing any trouble…

Meltinthemiddle · 14/04/2022 22:28

@Tryingtokeepgoing

AIBU to intensely dislike the use of the world poorly to describe someone who’s either ill, frail or just ageing? It seems somewhat disparaging/patronising to me, but still…

And FWIW, my husband died two and a half years ago and I’m almost half the Queen’s age and I’ve done a fraction of the work she’s done since Prince Phillip died….she’s every right to not want to do much at the moment if you ask me!

Yes just a bit! My post was out of concern after hearing she's cancelled this weekend and other engagements before which would have took alot for her to do. I just hope she's OK and makes it to the jubilee. I can't blame her for slowing down or retiring she's definitely done her duty.

she won't be doing anything, not even virtual calls, if she was at deaths door. She's just old. She may well pass away at any time but I don't think its imminent. H&M simply saw an opportunity to see her as they were going to Holland, and obviously need material for their show, if not something to film, then something to talk about. The queen can't refuse because they'd just talk bitch about the refusal instead. It was probably only a 10 minute drop in meeting lol.

crackingreward · 14/04/2022 22:28

This thread is disgusting.

JudgeJ · 14/04/2022 22:28

@ChiswickFlo

I think it's odd that Charles and camilla have dropped out of attending tomorrow's service too

Somethings afoot

If she were in imminent danger of dying then I doubt that Anne would be on the other side of the world at the moment.
Cocomarine · 14/04/2022 22:28

@QueefofSheena

Weird how no one has mentioned how much Prince Andrew’s behaviour would have affected her. Let’s ignore that and entirely blame H&M shall we? Hmm
Well said.
SpringIsSprung1 · 14/04/2022 22:29

Of course they upset her fgs! Yes, he certainly didn't help but she insisted that millions upon millions were spent on the wedding she apparently didn't wantHmm then more millions on Frogmore cottage just to fuck off to the States cos she felt victimised.

chinabunny · 14/04/2022 22:29

People wonder why accusations of racism are leveled against the detractors of H&M. This thread is a great example of why; Andrew, who has done far, far more to pain the queen, has not been blamed once and yet multiple posters have rushed to lay fault at H&M's feet.

lljkk · 14/04/2022 22:29

My speculation is that the villification of Prince Andrew, and loss of his titles, has caused QE2 far more stress than what he as accused of doing, or what he actually did.

So all the PA haters have caused QE2 huge amounts of stress, yes.
She's pretty fiercely loyal to family.

DD tells me that the scenes in The Crown where QE2 tries to work out who her favourite child is - are pretty funny.

JenniferAlisonPhilipaSue · 14/04/2022 22:30

I also hope she makes it to 100, if only to send herself a card Grin

lljkk · 14/04/2022 22:30

MNHQ will delete this shortly

BrizzleGuts · 14/04/2022 22:30

She has declined significantly and I said weeks ago to a family member when we were talking about it I believe she won't be here by the years end.

Supersimkin2 · 14/04/2022 22:31

Bingo. Monarchs do plan the timing and announcement of their death to make a point - the Queen’s father George VI took a fatal morphine overdose to an alarm set at the hour the morning Times could run the news, deliberately too late for the evening papers.

JudgeJ · 14/04/2022 22:32

@WildFlowerBees

I think she's had enough, her husband of many many years is no longer beside her and with everything she's had to endure the last few years she's probably thinking let's just wrap it up so I can feck off.
She has also lost most of her close friends in the last few years, she must be feeling like the last man standing. (She's of a generation not to take offence at that phrase!)

I think the problem is, once you hit the late 80s, 90s, it takes very little to go from absolutely fine to extremely unwell. I'm sure a lot of people have experienced very elderly relatives go through a steep decline.

Realistically, she's 95. Her life expectancy can only be considered short.

tkwal · 14/04/2022 22:34

She has been ill with covid, she has some mobility issues, she has family members who would be best taking a one way trip to a desert island and she lost her husband . Anniversaries after bereavement are difficult to cope with for anyone but HM has so many traditions to keep up with it must make things doubly difficult to bear

springtimeishereagain · 14/04/2022 22:34

@uffington

Apparently her bad back is due to a bowel issue. Not sure how serious a bowel issue though.
Really?? How do you know this??
