@DuncinToffee

Brandon Lewis said that Tony Blair got a parking ticket once
I once got a parking ticket.

For being in a 2 hour parking space for 62 minutes 🤣🤣🤣🤷‍♀️

I'm probably more of a criminal for ignoring it than I was for not actually breaking the law.

They never even chased for payment 🤷‍♀️🤣

itsgettingweird · 19/04/2022 15:00

@DuncinToffee

Keir's beer is so stale by now
The NI minister tried to use "kiers beer" today.

It was as low as Fabricants Nhs and teachers drinking in staff rooms shot.

It shows they really have nothing left when their defence to is lie about others doing the same.

Here's one. Total and utter delusion. Just like on here... this caller is fixated on the word 'party' because you have to be invited to a party and 'it's not a party'. Whilst totally ignoring the breaking of lockdown laws.
This is what we're up against in this country.... very worrying. The caller just bangs on about the word 'party' and just does not listen to anything.

Disclaimer - do not listen to this if you have blood pressure problems!

Teenagers everywhere know you don't need to be invited to a party...
Cornettoninja · 19/04/2022 15:49

I heard that one live @Roussette it was like hearing MN come to life!

ilovesooty · 19/04/2022 16:43

He's just got into the car to go to the Commons now. Why wasn't he already there listening to Home Secretary? He looked an absolute mess as he bumbled into the vehicle as well.

itsgettingweird · 19/04/2022 16:44

Will this been shown live anywhere?

ilovesooty · 19/04/2022 16:46

I'm on Sky News so I'm assuming it will be on there.

Blossomtoes · 19/04/2022 16:50

@Cornettoninja

I heard that one live *@Roussette* it was like hearing MN come to life!
Wasn’t it just? 😂
Roussette · 19/04/2022 16:54

I've just watched Yvette Cooper, such a knowledgeable woman, throw everything at P.Patel. Of course, Patel answered none of the questions.
I am on BBC News channel, awaiting BJ's appearance, 20 minutes late. Yet another apology, but I wonder what line he is going to take today different from before.

Roussette · 19/04/2022 16:55

@Cornettoninja
Absolutely, all that's been said on these threads was said in that 'phone call !

Roussette · 19/04/2022 17:03

Here he comes.... a lot of swagger and here comes the bluster.

ilovesooty · 19/04/2022 17:09

"I didn't realise it was a party. That was my mistake. Now back to Ukraine."

He's disgusting.

Blossomtoes · 19/04/2022 17:14

@ilovesooty

"I didn't realise it was a party. That was my mistake. Now back to Ukraine."

He's disgusting.

He really is. It’s not going away though.
Roussette · 19/04/2022 17:19

I do wonder where we'd be if Russia hadn't invaded Ukraine?

itsgettingweird · 19/04/2022 17:20

I think for the first time Kier Starmer has actually stood up and made a decent speech.

Made me tear up.

Of course Johnson just responds that he's ignoring the issues in Ukraine and UK - I've apologised. Move on Angry

ilovesooty · 19/04/2022 17:23

Starmer did really well.

Why was Fabricant smirking at the story of his constituent's wife's death?

itsgettingweird · 19/04/2022 17:23

Ian Blackford is also storming it.

ilovesooty · 19/04/2022 17:24

Go Blackford. He's right.

Shelagh is experiencing the same 'talking to a brick wall' experiences we've all experienced on these threads .

Matthew Wright took the call I was referring to earlier (think he was covering James O'Brien) on LBC. He was so exasperated by the end of it that it reminded me so much of Mumsnet threads like this. The caller knew better than the police and the laws of the land and that's all that mattered and she was not listening to any reason or argument. She was right, Boris is great blah blah blah and that's the end of it.

Fulmine · 19/04/2022 17:27

However at the moment we have fpns for very tenuous reasons. Durham police think beers and a buffet at work were allowed, the Met don't.

That's not the distinction. It was lawful to meet up if it was essential for work purposes, and if you chose to eat and drink whilst meeting, there was nothing wrong with that. Having a birthday get-together with your wife, interior decorator, colleagues and a photographer is manifestly not essential for work.

Fulmine · 19/04/2022 17:31

Well that's a bit rude cornetto. Everyone on these threads repeats themselves.

In your case, @JaniieJones, people repeat themselves because you keep repeating the same attempts at trivialising what Johnson did.. I don't know how many times it's been pointed out to you that the issue isn't birthday cake, it's cake with people Johnson didn't work with and a gathering that was inessential for work purposes, plus lying to Parliament about it; yet you still come back trying to make out that he's the innocent victim of people trying to demonise him just for having cake.

itsgettingweird · 19/04/2022 17:31

There was a definite different tone when Boris did his speech re Ukraine. Less about how we are world leading but more about how we are supplying armoury and the Ukrainians are doing the hard work. I actually think he will brazen this out but also knows he's done for and he isn't going to be the Churchill he wanted to be.

littledrummergirl · 19/04/2022 17:34

Listening to the debate is making me so cross.
I think Johnson will find that it's the Ukrainians who are leading the fight against Putin.
Yet another fucking lie!

Blossomtoes · 19/04/2022 17:36

I actually think he will brazen this out

Many of his MPs don’t. There’s a long way to go - more events to be fined for, local elections and the Wakefield by election. Not to mention Labour’s motion on an enquiry into whether he misled Parliament - it appears Tory MPs are being advised not to attend for the vote.

ilovesooty · 19/04/2022 17:36

He's lost it now.
