Do you prefer fruit or veg?

I much prefer veg. I like nearly everything and eat lots of carrots, peas, broccoli and cauliflower especially. I also like most salad vegetables.

The only fruit I really like is bananas and occasionally avocados. I don’t particularly like apples, oranges, grapes, strawberries or any of the common fruits.

I’m thinking about it as trying to increase my fruit and veg intake and I’m not managing five a day!

You’ve got to be organised with your food shopping to make sure you’ve got enough fruit and veg so I think I need to plan better for the week.

I’ve done an online shop today and I’ve got carrots, broccoli, sprouts, tomatoes, cucumber, onions. I’ve only got two bananas in the fruit bowl but I ate avocado yesterday and dc had melon.

Fruit, I absolutely love it. I detest every vegetable except leeks and sweetcorn and I eat very little veg. Bad for me I know, but I cannot bear the taste or texture of most veg. It makes me heave.

Fruit is manna from heaven. It amazes me that it just grows. It is just there and it is so very delicious. I love it all, except melon which is tasteless. I especially love tropical fruit. Pineapple is the best. I adore apples. The crunch, the juice. I always have an apple tree in the garden and think it's amazing I can pick food which is so delicious.
I like cooked veg, and crave it. I don't like salad veg much. Too boring, watery, and peppery.

Do you make sure you have at least 80g of each veg? Otherwise it’s not a full portion. 80g isn't that much. Might be 60 for a tomato but in general closer to 100.
Yeah it’s not much for a dinner but sometimes I weigh it out for a sandwich and I’ve probably only got half a portion of cucumber and half of tomato and I know a friend would say she’d had a portion of each in that instance.

Probably veg because of parsnips and mushrooms which I love.

I agree about fruits lack of stability. Still love lots of fruit though.

I made this yesterday, an excellent way of eating lots of veg in one meal www.nigella.com/recipes/chicken-barley

Amazed at the amount of veg lovers! Fruit lover here ❤️ And I prefer it to a naughty pudding.

Much prefer veg but do eat some fruits - prefer them cooked or with something (eg cream!). Fruit can often be tasteless, dry or sour. Recently I'm finding things like grapes too sweet. To make myself eat more, I take at least one type to work - I get so tired / hungry at work I usually eventually eat it!

Fruit.

I suffer through veg because I know it’s good for me but I rarely enjoy it. I hate a lot of ‘standard’ vegetables (peas, carrots, cauliflower, not to mention my absolute disgust for onion, anything onion-like, and cooked peppers) and I really dislike cooking so I can’t be arsed jazzing up broccoli.

I could quite happily eat 10 pieces of fruit a day if I let myself though.

Vegetables

I use a lot of lemon and lime juice in cooking i like the occasional apple, banana, I love pineapple and a few raspberries or strawberries (on the side of a chocolate pudding)

Ds doesn’t like fruit but has always eaten lots of vegetables. I buy fruit purée and add to his porridge, ready brek or weetabix

Veg
I used to think it was fruit. But monitored myself a few years back, and discovered it was veg.

Have tried to up my fruit intake over the years. With limited success. I do have regualar orange juice.

Will now read the thread to see if I can pick up on some new ideas.

Veg 100%. I don't really care for fruit at all. I just eat it because I feel I should. Veg I genuinely like.
