No rebate, just £12 off the monthly bill, which went up anyway......

Belle96 · 08/04/2022 19:52

Nothing here, Bill hasn't been reduced. Told it would be a one off payment in either April or May

popandchoc · 08/04/2022 20:00

Our council say if your dd went out on the 1st we will get the £150 on the 29th April. If your dd goes out later in month you will get in May.

chipsandpeas · 08/04/2022 20:05

mine got spread over the 10 months so a bit cheaper than last year

JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 08/04/2022 20:07

Nope but whenever it comes it'll be welcomed.

Pixiedust1234 · 08/04/2022 20:09

No. Council website says anyone who pays by DD will get it in May. Those that don't...they haven't decided how to implement yet as they can't send it direct to our bank account. In other words trying to get everybody to do DD.

Lottie4 · 08/04/2022 20:10

Just checked, nope. Can't remember where I read it, but it's more likely to be end of month.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 08/04/2022 20:12

We aren’t getting it.

FuckYouDebbie · 08/04/2022 20:13

No. I don't pay by direct debit though so I don't know how it's going to work.

WreckTangled · 08/04/2022 20:18

Ours is to be paid 14 days after the April dd goes out. Ours only goes out on the 8th so sill expect it in a couple of weeks.

MargotMoon · 08/04/2022 20:20

@JayAlfredPrufrock How come, if you don't mind me asking? Are you not eligible?

ivegotthisyeah · 08/04/2022 20:24

Not getting it ☹️ but my neighbours either side will 😡

Gufo · 08/04/2022 20:32

Not yet - website says April for my council.

HelloCanYouHearMe · 08/04/2022 20:36

My local council have said "within the 2022/23 year"

Which is code for "we'll do everything to ensure we dont give you this back"

jowly · 08/04/2022 21:13

Ours are 'going to start paying it in April and throughout the year'.

How efficient 🙄

WhereHasSpringSprungTo · 08/04/2022 21:20

No. We pay cash so ours will come as cheque at some point

mickeypillow · 08/04/2022 21:24

Ours is just a deduction in our bill. Nothing paid in. Just £150 less to pay over the year.

Lavendersquare · 08/04/2022 21:32

@jowly

Ours are 'going to start paying it in April and throughout the year'.

I work in council tax for as council and making the payments is a huge undertaking, my council have over 65,000 payments to make. New software is needed and extra credit checks to make sure only eligible households get it.

If you pay by direct debit you'll most probably get your money by the end of April. If you're not a dd payer it will take much longer because bank details have to be verified and people need to complete a form, all of this takes time as it's not all automatic.

Tbh the whole thing is a right pain, if the government really wanted to help people they would just take £150 off everyone's utility bill as it is this scheme is an administrative nightmare and it will take months to plough through tens of thousands of applications and associated queries and emails.

My advice if you want your payment quickly sign up for direct debit 😃

jowly · 08/04/2022 21:42

@Lavendersquare wouldn't it be easier and more cost efficient to just ask people to pay £150 less one month?

Probably far too simplistic.

OP posts:
Comedycook · 08/04/2022 21:45

Our council are very cryptically saying they will pay it sometime after April Hmm

wishingitwasfriday · 08/04/2022 21:46

@jowly

Ours are 'going to start paying it in April and throughout the year'.

You do realise that this is a massive piece of works for councils, that they didn't give councils pre warning or any guidance about. It's not as simple as everyone seems to think it is.
HenryCavillsPerfectTeeth · 08/04/2022 21:49

Our council says they need a software update first which they say is taking place in mid April so we don't know a timescale yet.

Hdkatznahtw125sgh · 08/04/2022 21:51

Glasgow - yes, no tax to pay this month and reduced bill next month

Unforgettablefire · 08/04/2022 21:54

I’m lost I thought it was a reduction in the bill? I got my bill for the next year and it had -£150 it’s already been taken off my bill by the looks of it

jowly · 08/04/2022 21:57

@Hdkatznahtw125sgh

Glasgow - yes, no tax to pay this month and reduced bill next month
How sensible!
