I got mine about 2 weeks ago. I'm in Staffordshire.

Samcro · 06/05/2022 10:41

got ours today

Duettino · 16/05/2022 08:08

Well, fuck me! It's finally here!

WreckTangled · 16/05/2022 08:30

We still haven't got ours. Apparently all those who pay by direct debit have had theirs. We haven't. I think it's because they removed my name from the bill when I registered as a student, despite me paying the pill for the past twelve years. Now it's just in dh's name and it comes out of a joint account (which may be listed in just my name on the account Confused) meaning we have to wait for them to send us a letter so we can confirm the bank details. Such a waste of time.

Bananarama101 · 16/05/2022 08:49

Had a letter through as don't pay DD so had to claim separately. It had to go through a grant approval website to submit the application. It was quite a faff, and not entirely straightforward. As the only way to get the rebate if you don't pay DD is to use this website, I can see it being overly complicated for those who aren't internet users or find things like that complicated. Not great frankly.

StupidUsernameUnavailable · 16/05/2022 08:49

I got a letter from my council last week saying they've tried to make payment but the name on my bill is different to the name on the bank account. Its not, but their system only allows a certain number of characters and I have a LONG surname .

They haven't had an issue TAKING the payment for 11 years though 🙄

I'm now waiting to hear back from someone as to how they are going to sort it out 🤷‍♀️

JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 16/05/2022 15:00

Got mine today (pay by DD). I've been trying to convince my parents to sign up to direct debit as they won't be able to do the online application form. I'll help them, of course, but what about those with no relatives to help?

Lottie4 · 16/05/2022 16:02

Haven't had ours yet, but our Councils website says end June.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 16/05/2022 16:12

DH normally pays it each month (not by DD) from his account.
Bill is in joint names, so I applied this morning and linked it to a different but joint account and have had an email confirming payment within 7-10 days...time will tell.🤞

ThatsRoughBuddy · 16/05/2022 16:21

I don’t pay council tax so the £150 came off my water bill instead, Came off when the new letters/bill were sent out.

the80sweregreat · 16/05/2022 16:23

Nada and I pay by direct debit !

SingingSands · 16/05/2022 16:25

Yes, £150 lump sum last week.

Duettino · 16/05/2022 16:39

@ThatsRoughBuddy are you sure that's the same rebate? This is specifically to be paid by your local council. Nothing to do with your water supplier. I could be wrong but I've not heard of anyone receiving it that way.

Yes, it’s the same rebate. In Scotland council tax and the water bill are lumped together on the same bill. So the £150 came off the total but since I don’t pay the council tax part it was the water bill I saved on.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 16/05/2022 18:03

I've had mine.

Duettino · 16/05/2022 18:50

@ThatsRoughBuddy ah, massive assumptions on my part there. I had no idea. Every day is a school day and that. Makes more sense for it to be controlled by the council.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/05/2022 18:59

Sefton Council has written to loads of people saying they don't have their bank details to pay into. Which isn't true, as they've been taking money from those accounts for ages. It feels like a delaying tactic.

Anyway, I've dutifully done the online form and will see what happens. I won't be happy with a deduction from my bill (and we don't have a joint account, so it will have to go into mine, in my name only, as the person who pays). I might ring up later in the week to see what's going on with it (apparently they're not answering the phones amazingly well either, however).

NoWordForFluffy · 16/05/2022 19:00

(They've said they'll deduct from the bill if no suitable details given by the end of June.)

My PIL pay to Sefton by DD for Council Tax and have had theirs

NoWordForFluffy · 16/05/2022 20:46

My PiL haven't had theirs and we haven't either. Quite a few people are having issues. I'm glad your PiL haven't though.

shinynewapple22 · 16/05/2022 20:55

We had ours yesterday - paid into the bank account our direct debit comes from .

the80sweregreat · 17/05/2022 14:40

Was fuming today , then rechecked our account and we did receive it last week.
So I stopped moaning then. Not sure why I didn't notice it though, old age getting to me.
