@MrsPear

Still waiting. I was initially told we were not entitled as we rent. But we pay the council tax. So just wait and see.
We rent and got it

I have received my council rebate directly into my bank account. I received an email saying it was done and would show up my account in the next 5 days.

Thursday37 · 22/04/2022 16:03

Ours came in this week by direct debit, they said 3 weeks after the first payment for this year and it was bang on (our DD is 1st of month).

Toddlerteaplease · 22/04/2022 17:02

Still waiting, council website says not to chase and they'll get to it.

Toddlerteaplease · 22/04/2022 17:08

I really need it as have already allocated what it will be used for!

OhamIreally · 22/04/2022 18:40

Yes £150 in my bank account a couple of days ago.

Stupid idea if you ask me.

XenoBitch · 22/04/2022 18:43

Nothing here. I don't pay by DD, so am having to wait on when/how to claim it.

Learningstill · 22/04/2022 18:44

Yes, had mine in the bank on 14th April.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 22/04/2022 21:29

Fair enough for you if you don't need it, but it's a (small) lifeline to a great many folk who are really struggling more than ever now.

Ours is just a deduction in our bill. Nothing paid in. Just £150 less to pay over the year.

Same

The council just sent a letter stating the 150 was being deducted from our annual bill and showed our new lower monthly payments.

jowly · 22/04/2022 22:38

We've had ours too now.. a credit back to the account that pays it.

I can't help but think those councils that are reducing every month by a little are doing folk a real disservice. It must surely be more useful as a lump sum back, or a free month.

Not yet and the local council said they won't start until May and could be as late as September. It's not what was promised, espevislpt those who have had it deducted off the yearly bill.

Has anyone had their council tax rebate yet?
lardass88 · 23/04/2022 14:02

Did those of you that have received it get a email first?

Whataboutno · 23/04/2022 14:04

Not got mine yet! Not that I'm checking every day or anything 😂

Spectre8 · 23/04/2022 15:51

This is just beyond comprenhension really. Instead of giving £150 back into our acocunts just lower the amount for the year. Would save so much more time surely. I just think its so stupid to have send more time and money on credit checks or a new system to send people £150.

Its no wonder our taxes are wasted through alot of inefficiency in the public sector esp the NHS when you have stupid things like this going on.

whoturnedthesunoff · 23/04/2022 15:58

I had a letter with my new council tax bill to say the earliest we would get it would be 22/06

LittleG69 · 23/04/2022 17:31

Getting ours on 6 May apparently.

z0fl0ra · 23/04/2022 19:56

@LaNozzeDiFigaro i’m in MK so seems they’ve started giving theirs out then!
ps it’s not very clear who it’s from when it comes into your account so I imagine the banks will be getting a lot of calls about it soon

ImAvingOops · 23/04/2022 19:59

I live in Powys and our council sent out letters to everyone who doesn't pay by dd to contact them with bank account details. Said they'll be paying hopefully in may/june

Duettino · 01/05/2022 20:22

Still waiting for mine. Frustrating!

Nanasueathome · 04/05/2022 10:15

Mine was in my account yesterday. 3rd may

Aposterhasnoname · 04/05/2022 10:29

For those saying they’ve got it as a reduction on your bills, no you haven’t. That’s a council tax reduction which has replaced council tax benefit. It’s also £150 for many people so
is causing confusion. You’ll be delighted to hear that you’ll also get £150 pain into your bank account.

Lavendersquare · 06/05/2022 09:41

Our council has paid all the direct debit payers, I guess they're the easiest ones.

Everyone else has to register and I think they are starting to pay them from next week onwards.

Duettino · 06/05/2022 09:44

Northampton council still taking their time but then they also lost that £10 mill so out payment is probably with that...
