My Mum gave me a huge Lindor

It's an Easter egg but packaged as a giant Lindor ball (the red ones). I spent a happy five minutes holding it and pretending to be a borrower while my DC (who haven't read The Borrowers) stared in bafflement and asked why I was giggling. Grin

Yes, I am far too old to still be getting an Easter egg from my Mum, but she enjoys giving little gifts and I would never turn down chocolate. Also yes, I am far too old to be pretending to be a borrower.

That's awesome and you are never too old to pretend to be a borrower!

MossyBottom · 05/04/2022 13:56

My mum still gave me an easter egg until she died when I was 62.
I still buy them for adult DC (and their partners).

Aimee1987 · 05/04/2022 13:58

We are never too old for these things.

AwkwardPaws27 · 05/04/2022 14:01

I'm 32 and haven't forgiven my younger brother for telling my mum to stop buying us advent calendars. He might not have wanted one any more, but I did Grin

BusySittingDown · 05/04/2022 14:01

Nope, never too old to be given an Easter egg by your mum!

Who DOESN'T pretend to be a Borrower when you get something giant? I also like to pretend I'm a giant when I have something tiny.

InMySpareTime · 05/04/2022 14:06

I got the giant Lindor ball from DH a few years ago, kept the plastic ball and use it to store a perpetual stock of Lindors. I add a new box each time someone gets me one, and haven't run out yet 😊

dottydodah · 05/04/2022 14:11

No never too old for an Easter Egg! I remember my aunty knitting me a lovely Arun Sweater .I bought her an Easter Egg and she was thrilled!

irishfarmer · 05/04/2022 14:13

Sounds lovely, will it make it until Easter? :)

I think you need to read/ watch the borrows with your kids, it's a great film.

anotherbrewplease · 05/04/2022 14:14

😁😍😁

Lovely - enjoy

toomuchlaundry · 05/04/2022 14:15

I thought you were going to say she had given it to you to pass to your DC and you had eaten it all! Much better pretending to be a borrower!

JaninaDuszejko · 05/04/2022 14:18

There's a lovely Studio Ghibli annimation based on The Borrowers called Arrietty.

My DDs both gave me a box of Lindt Lindor for Mother's Day. I may have to repay them with a Lindt Lindor Easter Egg each.

Turningpurple · 05/04/2022 14:20

My mum stopped getting me easter eggs a few years ago (when I was about 35). Never sat well with me. Grin

She passed away last year and dad decided we were getting Eastwell eggs again. He got one for dp and both kids. Then apologised and said he needed to replaced mine as he cracked it open, the night before. So I am currently Eggless. 🙄

I would love a Lindor one that made me feel like a borrower 😁

RB68 · 05/04/2022 14:34

As a borrower I look forward to how you use the wrapping once the choccie has gone....

ComDummings · 05/04/2022 14:36

I’m jealous Envy

3kidsareenough · 05/04/2022 14:36

Aw that is so lovely op. Your post really made me smile. my lovely mum & lovely dad (rip) always got me an Easter egg up until about 2 years ago when dad got very ill and mum was diagnosed with dementia. Enjoy every bit of it OP so lovely to have a lovely mum to still give you wee treats

And yes who doesn't pretend to be a borrower Blush I have been known to pretend that there are giants around when we're in the woods and someone stands on twigs making that breaking sound - kids think it's hilarious Grin

AwkwardPaws27 · 05/04/2022 14:46

I add a new box each time someone gets me one, and haven't run out yet

I admire your self control. I'm lucky if I can make a box last a day week.

YetAnotherWalk · 05/04/2022 14:53

This made me smile. You're never too old for an Easter egg. I take DS to buy DH one and DH takes him to buy me one!

InMySpareTime · 05/04/2022 14:55

Lindor is my special chocolate. I allow myself one if I feel sad. I don't get sad very often so a box can last me a year!
That's not to say I'm thin or anything, I just have other foods I overeat that aren't Lindor.

MintyGreenDream · 05/04/2022 15:00

I pretend that my chihuahua pup is really a great dane and I'm a giant Blush

ATrifleofFun · 05/04/2022 15:02

I'll have you know 80% of my desire to go to Costco is to pretend to be a borrower among all the gigantic American products and oversized teddy bears! (The other 20% is eating free samples) Enjoy your lindor!

diddl · 05/04/2022 15:03

"Yes, I am far too old to still be getting an Easter egg from my Mum,"

Nope, can't make sense of that sentence at all, sorry!

Bonjovispjs · 05/04/2022 15:03

That's so cuteWink

tkwal · 05/04/2022 15:03

Borrowers have mothers (and fathers) too 😃

Crimesean · 05/04/2022 15:33

Never too old for The Borrowers! A friend of mine named her DD Arietty Smile

Mummyoflittledragon · 05/04/2022 15:34
