I've got to late 30s and have lived in 8 , all in UK. Weirdly all most were xyz Avenue , one a Road , and this one xyz Lane.

about 40 - 10 as an adult and the rest as a child

Between 0-3.5, I lived in a horsetruck, a bender in the woods, a static caravan and an abandoned cottage. So that's 4.

Then when I was 3.5 we moved and my mum split with my dad. We lived in another static until I was just 7.

From 7-15 I lived in three different houses in a city.

15-just turned 16 I lived in a truck for a year travelling with my mum.

Then at 16 I ran away and in that one year I slept on 4 sofas, lived with my Gran, and lived in a homeless unit. So that's another 6.

At 17 I moved out and flatshared with a friend - that went pearshaped and I moved out 3 months later to another flat. Moved again the next summer. So that's another 3.

Then at 19 I moved in with my ex. Stayed in that flat for just over a year although the ex moved out fairly sharpish!

Then I had another bad flatshare encounter, couchsurfed for a couple of months, then I moved into a housing association flat, then the pandemic hit and my current partner and I moved in together and moved somewhere bigger. So that's another 4.

And then finally this time last year DP and I moved far away from everyone and we haven't moved since although we are buying our first home together next year. I have stayed here longer than I have in every other house in adulthood.

So that's 24, and I'm 23 😬

Once we buy next year I am never, ever moving again!

Jeelypieces20storeys · 05/04/2022 18:15

StrongerOrWeaker · 05/04/2022 18:15

PierresPotato · 05/04/2022 18:20

University adds in 6.
Other than that 10. And 5 of those were temporary lets of a year or less while moving about. Only 5 have been long term homes.

HelloDulling · 05/04/2022 18:22

8 as an adult

I’m 45.

ImplementingTheDennisSystem · 05/04/2022 18:29

12, not including Uni accommodation. We're now 38 and 40 and in a house and area that we love and I really hope we stay for 20 years!

YorkieTheRabbit · 05/04/2022 18:36

I’ve lived in four houses
First until I was 10
Second 10 until 21
Third 21 until 32
Fourth 32 and still here, I’m now 54

itbemay1 · 05/04/2022 18:52

4 soon to be 5

whenindoubtgotothelibrary · 05/04/2022 18:58

17 in total
4 as a child - but I can only remember 2 of those
13 as an adult (there were a few more, but only counting ones where I was officially on a lease and for a minimum 6 months, and not counting university accommodation) of which
2 rented flats overseas for a year each
5 rentals and houseshares in my 20s
6 consecutively owned flats or houses in London between the 1990s and now.

I think I've probably got one more move in me to downsize in a few years time when all the dc have left home.

Musicalmistress · 05/04/2022 19:02

I have had 29 different addresses and never lived in any 1 house/flat for mor than 5 years.

My dad was in the RAF and I've been private renting all my adult life.

Linnet · 05/04/2022 20:42

6 all together. 3 of them in the same street. The one I’m in now is the longest I’ve lived in one house, we’ve been here 22 years.
