Are you able to get fuel?

Last night I had to go to 6 petrol stations to get diesel. Petrol seemed fine.

Is this National or just in my area? Are we going to have £30 limits again soon?

Apparently there are people at the docks blocking the tankers but I watch the news regularly and haven't seen anything.

Also paid 186.9 so my £20 will only get so far. Luckily I'm a hybrid worker this time round but I'm driving to Cornwall soon (if I can get the fuel Wink)

Seems OK for Unleaded (Touch wood) Dont know about Diesel though .There was a Double Decker bus filling up! I thought they had their own depot! Soon run dry if they keep on using it

@lochmaree

Last night Tesco at Martlesham had unleaded if that’s any help?

lochmaree · 09/04/2022 08:23

Sorry looking for diesel! should have said Grin

pointythings · 09/04/2022 18:25

Plenty of Diesel in Plymouth this morning, even at the big Sainsbury's off the A 38. Good price too.

chocolateisavegetable · 09/04/2022 19:04

No diesel near us but unleaded is fine (SE)

Waitrose fuel station closed this morning (Northants), DH has gone to the Lake District this weekend so I told him to fill up while he is up there, the North doesn't seem to be affected like the South and Midlands

Marmite27 · 09/04/2022 19:13

All our fuel stations have both. Well except for the very cheapest one. They’ve run out.

Nearlyadoctor · 09/04/2022 19:14

All ours around Exeter seem to have both today.

RoseDog · 09/04/2022 19:17

Fuel for some of the north of England comes from Grangemouth and there is no issues or protesters at Grangemouth, it's all running normally.

XR and Just Stop Oil blocked oil facilities
From April 1st, Extinction Rebellion and the Just Stop Oil coalition blocked 10 oil facilities across the UK: Hythe, Hamble, West London, Grays, Navigator, Purfleet, Kingsbury, BP, Esso and Buncefield. Whilst XR used boats and oil drums to block access to the terminals, Just Stop Oil sat in roads, climbed on oil tankers, and dug tunnels. The actions are ongoing. As a result, the dilemma for the government will soon be determined.

The best tip I found to find stations with petrol is to Google them and if it says "not busy" and is well below average, assume there's no fuel. Our local Tesco and Sainsburys appear to be out (I know Sainsburys definitely is). The local BP garage is showing as "busier then usual" so must have fuel.

Also in Norfolk and had no fuel for a week, I'm off work for Easter so hoping I can get some next week.

That’s brilliant!

The only petrol station locally that actually has fuel says, “as busy as it gets” on Google so that’s a very good tip👍🏻

A previous poster has said that farmers are banned from using red diesel from now on,and that may be affecting the shortages. That's incorrect, farmers, growers and forestry machinery can still run on red, however construction vehicles can't.
Farmers buy in bulk,1000's of litres at a time and it's delivered by tanker, they don't go to petrol stations for red. The price has doubled since October when I last ordered,so expect this to affect the price of food over the next 12 to 18 months.

AllFreeOwls · 10/04/2022 19:12

I'm in Norfolk and there is no fuel at any of the stains near me.

LaNozzeDiFigaro · 10/04/2022 19:56

That's really interesting @TheFnozwhowasmirage. Thanks for that! It was me that said that. I'd heard it was all plant and the like, not solely construction.

Yes. This is why there are shortages.
