Are you able to get fuel?

Last night I had to go to 6 petrol stations to get diesel. Petrol seemed fine.

Is this National or just in my area? Are we going to have £30 limits again soon?

Apparently there are people at the docks blocking the tankers but I watch the news regularly and haven't seen anything.

Also paid 186.9 so my £20 will only get so far. Luckily I'm a hybrid worker this time round but I'm driving to Cornwall soon (if I can get the fuel Wink)

Blame the protestors for blocking the refineries. There's plenty of fuel but it can't be delivered. Really wish something nasty will befall them, sick of the lot of them.

onemouseplace · 04/04/2022 15:23

Got petrol yesterday no problem, but noticed a sign on the A3 saying there wasn't any diesel available at one of the big petrol stations.

Shurl · 04/04/2022 15:28

All seems fine in my part of the West Midlands

TheRealMrsMac · 04/04/2022 15:30

Petrol yes, diesel no. The petrol was 20.9p more expensive in the nearest market town to us than in the nearest large town. I know because a man filling his petrol can up for his mower delighted in telling me how much less he'd paid to fill his car up per litre than me!

LaNozzeDiFigaro · 04/04/2022 16:02

@pussycatunpickingcrossesagain yes, I noticed a huge price difference too. I just sold my petrol too. Urgh!

I thought they were supposed to turn off the lights stating the price if they didn't have it. From what I saw yesterday, they like to tease.

I just purchased my car so don't trust it to fill up yet. We are going away Monday and I wanted to test it over the week to make sure it's reliable etc. if I fill up before then, sods law the car will be a nail/have to be returned or fixed and I will have to pay twice for fuel. I was going to wait til Thursday when I had driven to work a few times but think I need to be proactive and get it before otherwise we won't be going anywhere.

We had this at the weekend too, (East Mids) no fuel at all in one Petrol station, the next had petrol but no diesel

Glad one of our cars is a hybrid and we’re still on an electricity price fix so can potter about in that on school runs

frustratedashell · 04/04/2022 17:20

Sussex , no unleaded yesterday or today. Not desperate yet....

bloodywhitecat · 04/04/2022 17:23

No unleaded at some stations when I was out in Thetford (East Anglia) yesterday.

QuebecBagnet · 04/04/2022 17:29

Was fine in the East Midlands when I was filling up with diesel earlier.

chisanunian · 04/04/2022 17:32

Filled up with unleaded yesterday. They must have had diesel as well, or I would have noticed the big yellow tag thing on the nozzle.

QuebecBagnet · 04/04/2022 23:19

Since i posted a few hours ago saying it was fine here I’m now reading on local fb group that no petrol or diesel left in the city. All petrol stations empty.

frustratedashell · 04/04/2022 23:41

Got some petrol tonight

GurkeyTurkey · 04/04/2022 23:57

I'm in Shropshire, drove to 6 filling stations that were all completely empty before finding one open with a massive queue. It was expensive too, but I wouldn't have been to get to work tomorrow without it.

TheOrigRights · 05/04/2022 00:02

I'm in Essex. Tesco had no fuel at all yesterday, but I managed to fill up (diesel) at our village garage this morning. I don't drive far so this will last me a while.

astorsback · 05/04/2022 00:05

No problem in the Midlands. Filled up with Diesel yesterday.

TabithaTittlemouse · 05/04/2022 00:08

Fine here although we fill up before everyone drives here and pinches it all (Cornwall!). Obviously joking!

raffle · 05/04/2022 00:13

We’re in Norfolk, Tesco had no diesel or Momentum (the expensive type of unleaded) today.

bloodywhitecat · 05/04/2022 13:15

Diss (Norfolk) seems all out of fuel today.

OutlookStalking · 05/04/2022 15:01

Both petrol stations here empty this morning. Paniced a bit I wouldn't be able to get to my appointment but 3rd station had some.

What is going on??!

QuebecBagnet · 05/04/2022 17:26

This is what’s going on

I worked in the city next to my town for the last few days. Was running on fumes again by the time I found a petrol station with diesel. 5 this time in 2 places.

Apparently, I'm addition to the protests they have also banned red diesel for farm/plant vehicles and the like so demand is far higher than previous and it seems no one has made provisions...

I am so sick of these idiots. If they need NHS care or an ambulance or god forbid a fire engine how do they think it’s going to get to them if they keep disrupting fuel supplies? Fucking gives me the rage.
LaNozzeDiFigaro · 07/04/2022 21:18

Gives me rage a bit too. Think of all the additional fuel people are using driving to numerous petrol stations. I put £70 in (would have cost me £40 a few weeks back) hoping it will be enough for Cornwall and back but I would have just got enough for there if it wasn't freely available. I don't know if that counts as panic buying
