Do you feed family garlic based dishes without considering the after smell the next day?

Is this something other people consider at all? Say you have tweens or teens who are at an age where peers may notice things like garlic breath. Do you consider this at all and say not feed garlic bread night before school or if they are going to a party or something. Or do most people not give it a second thought? Just curious as it’s something I tend to avoid garlic if working next day but maybe I over worry

@TheSpottedZebra

My theory is that people who are mimsy about garlic smell normally reek of fabric softener, so it all evens out.
This killed me Grin

@worriedatthistime

No because we all brush our teeth
It's not a lack of tooth brushing that makes people smell of garlic the next day.

Gosh no, never even thought about it (but we only use 2-3 cloves in family dishes - things like whole bulbs in the roasted veg are shunned by our teens!)

@Geamhradh really?

I’m from the south if France, very close to the Italian border.
We have traditional always used plenty of garlic and I do not recognise your description at all.
I cannot think about any day where my parents and grandpa parents haven’t used garlic in a dish. Like one, two, or 3 cloves.

On the other side, I have met many many people in the U.K. having issues with garlic and using it only sparingly (see the fact this thread even exists!).

It has never crossed my mind and I add garlic to most things. I eat it myself and as long as I clean my teeth I don't think I smell of it the next day.

@TheNameOfTheRoses please share some recipes Grin

Just having my fav Indian snack from the supermarket and the ingredients only state ginger and chilli. So there must be times when garlic is thought to not “add” to a dish

I’ll carry on eating my delicious garlic and if people don’t like it they can keep their distance. Win win situation if you ask me Grin
