The acronyms and phrases are shorthand, otherwise handover would take about 2 hours.

I (used to until very recently) worked in a very technical field so most phrases were obscure.

I now work with small children so hopefully ‘now it’s not nice to bite/spit’ and ‘if you don’t eat your Thai curry you won’t get cake and custard’ are the ones I’d hear. That and ‘do you need a nappy change’ and ‘why are you crying?’.
