How hot is the coffee in police stations and other odd questions

I'm watching a programme where a suspect is being interviewed at a police station and they ask him if he wants a coffee.

It got me wondering if the coffee in police stations is always a bit tepid and never boiling hot (therefore tasting a bit shit) in case it gets thrown at a police officer.

Any police officers care to enlighten me?

Also what other pointless questions do you have?

Do beauty therapists wax their own legs?

Definitely. I do everything myself. Only thing I can’t do properly is tint my lashes. I try, but I get more tint in my eyes than on the lashes. I don’t recommend trying.

It always annoys me when someone gives someone else a ' hot ' drink on TV and they immediately hold the cup by wrapping their hand around it, with fingers through the handle.
Are their hands made out of asbestos or something?
Yes to the empty pretend drink scenario, especially when it's supposed to be freshly made and they immediately take a huge gulp from it, or take a gulp then speak without even making the pretence of swallowing.

So if I was to get arrested and didn't have my essential medication with me, would they get me some somehow?

I have been arrested, and they didn't bring me my meds. They went to my home to get them, but because they had been dispensed into a different box (ie one without my name one), they were not allowed to bring them to me.

Just to further advance your police coffee knowledge, custody coffee for detainees is also decaff

Some flies gather in roof spaces in huge fly mounds on the timber bits. For warmth I think.

I think the giveaway is that it’s a programme. Not real life. Whilst it’s good to rapport build, to give a suspect a hot cup of liquid they could throw over you is not the best idea. It’s not something I did.

The empty cups thing.... for continuity sake, there would need to be the same amount in the cup in each take.
Another reason is the actor could spill liquid on themselves (and get eye rolls from wardrobe, and potentially spill liquid on cables on the floor).

your brain knows where all your organs are and what all your cells and tissues are up to any any one time, but it doesn't tell you.

Luckily not consciously, but it is sending signals all the time just to keep you upright.
There is a great explanation here about how the brain gets you to move (and stop moving so when you grip a cup it’s just enough to hold steady but not crush it).

I’m interested in this stuff as i have cerebral palsy and other medical stuff so it doesn’t do that automatically on the right side (left brain). When I do stuff with my right hand I am sometimes consciously reminding eg my hand to grip (I don’t carry hot things with that hand

Actually though I’d prefer another one my brain just like everyone’s is pretty amazing- mine just reorganised itself as there was part of the blood vessels that didn’t form properly when I was born but took up space, but I can do some stuff that would normally have been controlled from the damaged part of the brain.

As a teenager I had a Saturday job in a post office. A partially sighted regular left her stick once so I ran after her "Mrs Methuen, you left your stick" she snapped that it wasn't a stick, it was a wand. I realise then why she was called Mrs Methane behind her back.

I reckon bin. Possibly toilet would be ok if you didn't flush it right away but waited until the next flush. In the bin its getting disposed of along side a load of other rubbish, is quite light so not adding much to it, so its efficient. Also, a lot of domestic waste in this country is incinerated in energy from waste plants now. If yours goes to one of these then that's definitely better.
