It's Sunday. I'm bored! Do you have any celebrity friends as in close enough to have them on Watsapp etc. Come on give us a clue, maybe some MNers will even be brave enough to tell us names!

He's one of my fantasy dinner parties guests!

@FromDespairToHere

Bleeding hell Fish gets around doesn't he! I'm starting to feel like I'm the only person on this thread who doesn't actually know him Grin
Grin Grin Grin

That could be a thread - "Is there anybody on here who ISN'T friends with Fish?"

RockinHorseShit · 29/03/2022 10:21

one of my friends was a registrar and conducted Stephen Fry's wedding. She said he was very nice.

I used to live close to him in SW london some years back. I'd pass him walking his dogs every morning when I was on my way to work. He was always very cheery & very friendly, always said hello & if I passed him on my way home from work, he'd sometimes stop for a chat too. He seemed like such a genuinely lovely man

Juniper68 · 29/03/2022 10:28

@Sunnysprings

My ex fiance is quite famous, a successful musician and actor.

I know Russell Tovey well, and more importantly his lovely dogs.

I know Neil Tennant, he is very good at playing tea party, so much so that my little one always makes him do it.

Jessie Cave, we used to be housemates.

Neil was at breakfast in a manor house with me and dh. It was in Weardale. Different tables but only us staying there. He may have heard us singing in the bedroom the night before? That was whilst we were getting ready to go to the local pub. We didn't realise how loud we were. Johnny Cash and June Carter song Grin

@PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn @phlaps

Yes, I do know the history, and it's sad. I'm not saying there isn't a REASON for it, just that my experience of him isn't overly positive, at least not within the context I know him. Equally, control issues aside, he is very up himself.

x2boys · 29/03/2022 10:36

@SheilaTheGr3at

Yes, I'm good friends with Fish from Marillion and we exchange messages weekly and chat

I realise most of you won't know who this is

My friend named her Daughter Kayleigh after the song I imagine she isn't the only one 🤣
lemongreentea · 29/03/2022 10:37

my dads cousin is a famous-ish hollywood actor. I met him as a child and am friends with his mum and dad on facebook.

PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn · 29/03/2022 10:37

I think the time has come to go look up Fish and find out what his band is like...

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 29/03/2022 10:41

@19Bears

I'm friends with a famous scientist who does stuff on tv and radio (not Brian Cox!) and we often exchange DMs and have met, and hugged, semi flirtatiously, quite a few times. We both had covid a couple of weeks ago and he asked how I was, and I was moaning about work putting pressure on me to still go in, whereas his moan was that he had to postpone going to Windsor Castle to get his CBE!
sliding into the DMs of Sir Patrick Moore. Oh I say.

Is it CP?

I wouldn't mind a flirty hug with him Wink

PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn · 29/03/2022 10:44

@murderatthebeautypageant
I would hope necrophilia isn't involved!

CherryGurl73 · 29/03/2022 10:49

@PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn I once spent the night drinking with him and Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd in Thailand. They were just filming the first Lord of the Rings film and Orlando was a total unknown. To be honest, he was quite stuck up. I mean we're in a Thai ping pong club and he was going on and on about being a Shakespearian actor. We didn't care - we just wanted to down Thai whiskey and have a laugh. I can confirm that Billy and Dominic were both lovely and in fact, Dominic dated my sister's friend, who was with us, for some time afterwards.

Ha, yes I did check his age after I posted and noticed he's now RIP! Soz, Patrick.

BPRYOTR · 29/03/2022 10:52

@WouldIWasShookspeared

I know a member of Bones Park Rider. They're not really famous but they've got a good following and do well.
Ooh @WouldIWasShookspeared , their most recent singer is fantastic Smile
Covetthee · 29/03/2022 10:54

I have mutual friends with anna friel, have had a few evening drinks with her and mutual friends.

Very lovely, can be quite shy but once she is familiar with you she opens up a bit more and she is very funny.

CrankyFrankie · 29/03/2022 10:58

@GoldenThready where are you?

Are you Marge Simpson?

19Bears · 29/03/2022 11:00

@MurderAtTheBeautyPageant ha ha, no! Not even when he was alive!

@IBelieveInBiology I was just about to ask who CP is, then I clicked. Nope, not him :)

mooncheese · 29/03/2022 11:01
@mooncheese Read this whole thread and that's the one I'm most impressed with. Lol Tolhurst? What a legacy. Hope he's doing OK.
Yes Smile doing his own music projects now, happily married with a son and recovered from all his issues.
Highly recommend his book The Tale of Two Imaginary Boys if you haven’t read it.

SouperNoodle · 29/03/2022 11:04

I don't know Fish and I feel a bit left out 😂

Octothorpe · 29/03/2022 11:21

That could be a thread - "Is there anybody on here who ISN'T friends with Fish?"

It’s usually Anthony Head everyone knows on threads like this. Haven’t RTFT - surely he’s had a mention?

IBelieveInBiology · 29/03/2022 11:26

My brother met *Fish after a Marillion concert in the mid 80s. He came out to meet fans, which was quite rare then. DB managed to get his autograph and when he said "Thank you," Fish smiled and said "No... thank YOU" How nice and appreciative!

*my phone automatically capitalised Fish! It also must be a friend/fan!

PollyDarton1 · 29/03/2022 11:27

Oh! I forgot. I went to college with Adam Claflin and used to get drunk on pitchers with him at Wetherspoons. We had a few drunken snogs, then he went off to London to be an actor. We stayed in touch for a bit and we have each other on FB but haven't caught up for a while. I also know his mum fairly well.

PollyDarton1 · 29/03/2022 11:27

That should say SAM Claflin not Adam 😂

DameHelena · 29/03/2022 11:27

@mamabear715

Most of these folk - who aren't even named? Mean nothing to me, so dunno why the name changes! ;-) Surprised to know Cilla wasn't nice. Impressed to know that a PP knows Rupert Everett. Gorgeous. What a waste, lol..
You can't have read many sleb threads on MN unlike me, I've no life Cilla often features on the 'what rude slebs have you met?' type ones. It's always unanimous.
