It's Sunday. I'm bored! Do you have any celebrity friends as in close enough to have them on Watsapp etc. Come on give us a clue, maybe some MNers will even be brave enough to tell us names!

I used to look after Orland Bloom when he was little and before he was famous.

Ilovedarkchocolate · 29/03/2022 01:08

I was on an American game show back in the early 80's called Battlestars...I got to meet Alex Trebeck, the Jeopary game show host

@SheilaTheGr3at

Yes, I'm good friends with Fish from Marillion and we exchange messages weekly and chat

I realise most of you won't know who this is

I loved Marillion when I was a teenager 😁
SmudgeRolls · 29/03/2022 01:32

SmudgeRolls · 29/03/2022 01:32

SmudgeRolls · 29/03/2022 01:33

@StScholastica

My DH grew up with Paul Weller and remains friends (hasn't seen him for a couple of years now though).
In that case, I live in the same town your DH grew up in
PrincessAnnaOfArundale · 29/03/2022 02:35

I wouldn’t say I’m friends with him as he keeps his circle very small with his wife and his brother mainly but I’ve worked with Stromae a few times. He’s completely the opposite of what I expected a bizarre, androgynous, European superstar to be. He is very sweet and quietly spoken. Never argues with any suggestions made. Very easy man to work with and such a down to earth guy. I get the feeling that he’s actually painfully shy and timid. Yet on stage he’s a maniac! I’m not friends with him like I say but I’d happily work with him again.

Boy George is my friend. I've been friends with his sister since 85. Im 51 now. My daughter is best friends with his neice. Nanny Di is my kids' 'other nanna'and they delivered her flowers on Mother’s day

Luredbyapomegranate · 29/03/2022 04:04

@Superhanz

My best friends uncle is Eamonn Holmes. She obviously likes him Grin but at her wedding he seemed like a bit of a sour faced git.
He is..

I don't think Cilla's marriage was unhappy. I thought she and Bobby doted on each other. By all accounts she was also a lovely person, but that said I didn't know her![/quote]
@Sailorsusan

I know many people who worked with her, who all say she was an awful woman. No one has a good word to say about her.

RussianSpy101 · 29/03/2022 04:18

Lots of premier league & England footballers both past and present through both my dad and DH.
Also know a few boxers again through my dad.
Most of them are really nice and despite what may be “said” in the media are quite private.
Cat Deeley was at a wedding I was at as a teen in 2006. She was lovely, very confident and bubbly.
Have been at a christening with Perrie Edwards of little mix and Alex.

Joystir59 · 29/03/2022 04:25

My son is friends with a famous Bridgerton actor so he has been in my house, and is a lovely person.

WiddlinDiddling · 29/03/2022 05:25

@Ohmybod Yes I did realise after I wrote that.. most of mumsnet seems to have vile CF friends.. but back in the real world..

Ok.. I am on messaging/hugging terms with Davros/Mike Tucker's daughter Hannah .. she's presented a tv show on dog training in recent years and is extremely lovely.

Mine really are all dog related... and we just talk about dogs, so it's really not that exciting!

NC'd.

The actor Khaled Abdalla (shortly to be much better known in The Crown). Absolute arse, just arrogant and seems disinterested in anything outside himself. Our kids are at the same school and either DH or I find ourselves getting talked at, at least fortnightly.

Jessie Ware, the singer. Lives locally to me and does loads of community things in the area. Absolutely lovely, down to earth and very warm. Her DH is a bit of a plonker though.

blowupthehouseandmove · 29/03/2022 06:02

@RoseyOldCrow

I know, I know & I'm envious! Had a crush on him in 1983... Saw Marillion a few times & had an empty glass of his for a few years 😆
so jealous of empty glass Grin
tocas · 29/03/2022 06:08

AnastasiaRomanov · 29/03/2022 06:12

My son has worked closely with Prince George.

That's a shame, I watched a film in with him years ago and I thought he was pretty fit!

My cousin is the drummer in the cranberries. He is of course lovely

oohmamama · 29/03/2022 06:23

I worked on a TV show in the late 90s presented by Nick Owen of ‘Anne and Nick’ fake. He was very nice, very Partridge.

He did a short piece about online dating which was very new at the time. He had a very attractive lady on talking about her experiences. They seemed to get along very well. The following week she was back - I asked her if she was on the show again - she said ‘no, I’m Nick’s guest’ and giggled. Stayed the whole shoot and then they left together. He’s been married since 1977….

Also met Nick Knowles there who paid far too much attention to my 18 year old self for my liking. He was very charming though as I’m sure you can imagine….

1ittlegreen · 29/03/2022 07:33

@GoldenThready

I've asked my husband three words to use Grin... he said "woman", "hair" and "funny". Blush
Caitlyn Moran?
Trixiefirecracker · 29/03/2022 07:50

I think anyone who actually knows any ‘real’ celebrities ( and not old 90s pop stars or someone from Brookie) would not feel okay at mentioning their names all over mumsnet. I certainly wouldn’t.

phlaps · 29/03/2022 07:51

Previous posters commented on Matt Edmondson - can't find the posts on the fly, but maybe worth having a listen to this, shines a light on what makes him who he is. In fact I'd recommend the whole series:
