It's Sunday. I'm bored! Do you have any celebrity friends as in close enough to have them on Watsapp etc. Come on give us a clue, maybe some MNers will even be brave enough to tell us names!

A friend of mine knows Damon from Brookside (Simon O’Brien) and says he’s not as friendly as you see him on TV. Quite aloof.
That's sad, I always thought he might be lovely to know. Just goes to show....

I had to look him up. Wiki says he's father was an alcoholic and bi polar before he died by suicide so I guess I could understand that his son developed a need for control in his life.

My uncle is a famous musician in his field, smallish field though, electronic music, Wavestar.

I knew L S Lowry...he was good friends with my grandma and I met him lots of times as a child. Obviously at the time I didn't know how famous he was...I always thought he was kind of sad 😞
Very jealous... I'm a huge Lowry fan.... 💙

My husband was in the Priory 19 years ago for his addiction and met quite a few of them. Some still good friends but can’t name them because of anonymity. To start of with it did his ego no good as he was star struck and for addicts that is not great. One of them became his sponsor.

What are you expecting folk to say though...

If someone is friends with a person, they're going to say they're lovely, who on earth is friends with someone they don't like!

My friend Sarah and her hubby are lovely.
My friend Vikki and her hubby are also lovely.
My friend Carolyn is extremely lovely.
My friend Charlotte is the loveliest person ever.
My friend Tony is a delight.

Some of those are 'famous'. Does it matter which. I don't have shitty friends.

What is so exciting about it - they're just people, they do jobs that happen to involve being on TV!

Errrr I think you’ll find there are many, many people with seemingly lovely friends yet who are just one mumsnet post away from dumping them/ghosting them etc…

I see a former Blue Peter presenter, a former BBC correspondent and an ex LA Law star regularly in the shop. The LA Law star told me she loves my pink hair.
I used to know two former Soldier Soldier actors. Their children used to come to my sons birthday parties and vice versa...

I don't think Cilla's marriage was unhappy. I thought she and Bobby doted on each other. By all accounts she was also a lovely person, but that said I didn't know her!

Changed names for this.

He is not a celebrity but I know PH and have his number. I know him as a down to earth type guy and I know him out of work.

I know Carol Volderman and her family - all lovely and admire her and love her loads.

I know a few people as in have their numbers but not well enough to call them friends including Eugenie and Beatrice and they are very very nice and normal. I know Zara T very well. I don’t see the point of this thread though - if you name who you know - I can’t say anymore about them. And I will name change shortly.

But all the ones I know are lovely - or I guess I wouldn’t be friends with them.

You're obviously local to me. I hope he's a decent friend. Unfortunately a mate of mine was at a wedding at his table and he was really up himself. I do think he was going through addiction issues at the time, bit apparently he was really awful: sweary, uppity and rude. I suppose we all have bad days.

Not a friend at all but my husband met a lot of them while working in film and movie security.
Danny devito, colin farrel, justin bieber, one of the young jenner, david beckham, one guy from home alone, edris elba etc. few victoria secret models. Some of them really nice as i would expect and some were huge surprise, or better say disappointment

I was close childhood friends with Anthony Joshua - not on my WhatsApp list now, alas! My DH was a musician and has several musicians in his phone. All very nice, normal-ish.

I’m hoping someone will say Nick Kershaw, Peter Cox from Go West, Paul Young, Mike Nolan from Buck’s Fizz ( I so miss the 80s) and Milo Ventimiglia….anyone?
My DH was a roadie for nick kershaw back in the day. Our running joke is he used to hand wash his snoods. Nick was very particular about which brand of washing powder.

Bob Geldof definitely has a presence too, when he chooses to he commands a room with little effort. Undoubtedly, if he likes something, or someone, he does so with passion.

As I was friendly with Paula Yates I knew some of the things that were going on long before that Big Breakfast interview. Michael Hutchence was IMO the catalyst, but not the cause, of the split in the Geldof/Yates marriage.

So Saint Bob was v different at home?
