It's Sunday. I'm bored! Do you have any celebrity friends as in close enough to have them on Watsapp etc. Come on give us a clue, maybe some MNers will even be brave enough to tell us names!

OP posts:

No @Timeinabottle just the impression I get!

Slatkater · 28/03/2022 00:41
@Slatkater Blonde, bubbly, sympathetic faces, caring nature…seemed totally different in real life 🤷🏻‍♀️Perhaps I met her on a bad day….supremely confident/intimidating.
Ah, crossed wires. Pretty sure that @DancingChairs and I are on the same page though.

Blimpop · 28/03/2022 00:53

Ah disappointing. I could say- I'm friends with a famous band member from the bloody 90s or nanny to a royal or what ever else. No good claim without a name. We'll have to assume you're bullshitting.

Tigertigertigertiger · 28/03/2022 00:54

James McAvoy is my cousin

PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn · 28/03/2022 00:55

@Tigertigertigertiger

James McAvoy is my cousin
He's my future husband, he just doesn't know yet
theoldbattleaxe · 28/03/2022 00:58

Name change

Friends with a number of celebs but in regular contact with Carey Mulligan (Oscar nominated actress) and her husband Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons.

Really down to earth, unpretentious and friendly couple!

SouperNoodle · 28/03/2022 00:58

@PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn 😂😂😂

Ilovedarkchocolate · 28/03/2022 01:01

Name changed for this..Grin

My DC went to school with Juice Newton's ( Grammy award winning female vocalist in the US) DC's for many years and played sports with them...Juice is the sweetest, nicest, down to earth person you'd ever want to meet. In social and private circles you'd never know how famous she is. She's still performing around the US. She's cut her waist length blonde hair, but otherwise looks the exact same...she's beautiful inside and out. She has many hit songs...one being, "Queen of Hearts" and another, " Angel in the Morning ", plus tonnes more.

Also family friends with the mum of Danielle, the star of the 2nd season of the Netflix programme "Love is Blind". The whole family is lovely...I just hope fame doesn't ruin life for them all. Danielle ended up marrying Nick from the show and they are very happy together ❤️
@JaneJeffer Have you met her/know her too?

Couldn’t get over the difference off camera, I still get fooled and think she’s nice when I watch tv…bonkers, I found it quite upsetting at the time!
I’m sure this is holly willoughby. The cameras once didn’t stop immediately on This Morning and I heard her be really rude. It was an outside section and she was really rude because some people hadn’t clapped hard enough.

EndaDay · 28/03/2022 01:10

My cat once kitten sat for a very famous cat family but she can't name them.

It is totally true.

SouperNoodle · 28/03/2022 01:12

I honestly want all the Holly Willoughby gossip now 😂 I'm gutted that she's a bitch in real life but I love hearing about celebs when they're not on camera aha

Iflyaway · 28/03/2022 01:21

Yes. Several.

Not mentioning any names though. Smile

icecreamgirl94 · 28/03/2022 01:32

I went to school with Mallory Franklin who recently won silver (I think) at the olympics. We’re still friends on Facebook, lovely girl when we were growing up.
I know a fair few of the old Grange Hill actors through my old job even though I wasn’t born when most of them were on it. I spent a day out in London with Gripper and have Roland’s number, we message sometimes.
Roman Kemp once asked for my number, gorgeous man and I think we’d have been perfect together but unfortunately I had (and still have) a boyfriend 😂

fringely · 28/03/2022 01:34

@Scienceseeker

My next door Neighbours are social media influencers! We are friendly and chat regularly if we see eachother etc. I know of her struggles with mental health etc. I find it fascinating to watch the videos that they publish on their social media platforms and see how sunny and lovely everything seems, when in reality I know that isn’t the case. I know they don’t have to share that side of their lives, I just find it interesting to see the reality vs what they post. (They don’t know I watch their videos! E.g. I waited for her to tell me she was pregnant, even though I’d already seen it on social media the week before!) Blush
Hinch?
ParanoidGynodroid · 28/03/2022 01:41

@Ratatoo

I know Ferne Cotton, she's a bit bonkers but really kind and lovely. She's a Mumsnetter too.
Really? Not very well if so... you can't even spell her name correctly.

I've met Fish, too! He was an absolute gent, so appreciative of his fans and success.

When I was 18 I shagged someone a couple of times, just as he was about to become famous (singer in band, late 80s onwards). He seemed to really like me, but was suddenly busy and darting off everywhere so it fizzled out. I told a friend at uni, who then announced it in a group of friends. They thought I'd made it up. Was mortified and never told anyone (except DH) again.

Namesrus · 28/03/2022 01:45

Only known in Scotland but my cousin is in River City.

Welshgal78 · 28/03/2022 01:51

My 3rd cousin is Sting from the Police. The way my dad explained it is that he is my grandma's sister grandchild and therefore I'm his grandma's sisters grandchild. My brother used to play with his oldest son when they were kids and I've met his lovely dad a few times, sadly only at funerals but never actually met him myself. Although he is friends with one of my 1st cousins as she's famous in her own right in Jazz circles.

clarkkentsglasses · 28/03/2022 02:30

@Mindtheears

Anyone friends with Chesney Hawkes? He seems like a nice guy.

Raises hand and yes you're right Smile

Worked with someone who had been her childhood friend and then survived her teens
She was a horrible young woman

I love Carey Mulligan! She lights up every thing she’s in. She’s absolutely sublime.
LoisLane66 · 28/03/2022 02:59

Chris Pitt
Mo Salah
Michael Connelly
Dominique Sachse

RonaldMcDonald · 28/03/2022 03:01

I used to know Norman Cook and Zoe Ball quite well and had often been out and at their house
I met Pete Doherty a few times during the Kate Moss era and met my xh then, it was pretty celebrity but not pretty or flashy

gregdaviesiswonderful · 28/03/2022 03:23

I've name changed for this also.

My DH is good mates with Greg Davies and I can confirm what Pp said that he is absolutely lovely and actually my secret crush. He is fantastic with children - my toddler DS is so pleased whenever he sees him that I can guarantee he'll poo within 5 mins out of sheer excitement. Very down to earth and unassuming.

My Mum is good friends with Duffy from Casualty who is an ace knitter and over lockdown furnished pretty much every child she knew with various knitted tops!

My best friend is good mates with Holly Willoughby (not sure I've spelt that correctly!) and I've met her a number of times at social gatherings. She's actually perfectly lovely, very kind and quite hilarious. My friend says she's extremely intelligent and business minded which usually takes people by surprise. But my friend is often asked if she's really a total bitch in real life and my mate is fiercely protective of her and describes her as one of the most kindest loyal people ever.

I had to work with Trinny and Susannah back in the day when What Not to Wear was at its peak. I actively disliked them both. They both believed their own hype and didn't seem to like each other very much. There were often difficult conversations if one had done publicity for something without the other. But as soon as any other A Lister appeared they flicked a switch and we're all 'darling'. I was quite young at the time and often had daydreams about doing awful things to them both!

gregdaviesiswonderful · 28/03/2022 03:25

Oh and Adam Boulton is not very nice. Uninterested in anything but himself and at parties just hovers around the food (seems like a stereotype but is very true). But I may have met him on several off days!

estellacruella · 28/03/2022 04:17

my brother-in-law is in a scottish tv soap/tv show/ pantos ect... not really celebrity status outside of Scotland but gets recognised almost daily when out and about
