It's Sunday. I'm bored! Do you have any celebrity friends as in close enough to have them on Watsapp etc. Come on give us a clue, maybe some MNers will even be brave enough to tell us names!

@AndAsIfByMagic

I know several stand up comedians.

I've said on here before - Greg Davies is lovely and everything you'd hope he would be. Sarah Millican and Jason Manford really care about their fans and go out of their way for them. Sara Pascoe is beautiful inside and out. Most of the ones I've met are lovely but a few can be a bit "edgy".

I fancy Greg Davis SO much! 🥰
WiddlinDiddling · 28/03/2022 04:50

What are you expecting folk to say though...

If someone is friends with a person, they're going to say they're lovely, who on earth is friends with someone they don't like!

My friend Sarah and her hubby are lovely.
My friend Vikki and her hubby are also lovely.
My friend Carolyn is extremely lovely.
My friend Charlotte is the loveliest person ever.
My friend Tony is a delight.

Some of those are 'famous'. Does it matter which. I don't have shitty friends.

What is so exciting about it - they're just people, they do jobs that happen to involve being on TV!

TyrantosaurusRex · 28/03/2022 06:29

I would love to be friends with Stacey Solomon though, she always seems so lovely!

fishonabicycle · 28/03/2022 06:52

How do you know Salah?!? 😱
mdh2020 · 28/03/2022 07:53

My GS asked me this question and I could name two classical musicians, a well known author, four well known stage performers and a member of the House of Lords just on my side of the family. BiL is also well known in his academic field. Many years ago the cast of Play School came to us for lunch and then opened the fete at DCs Primary School. They were lovely and stayed all afternoon chatting to the children.

dizzydizzydizzy · 28/03/2022 08:02

My grandad used to be friends with the actor who played Uncle Tom on The Archers.

A friend of DP's was friends with Bill Oddie. DP met him.

I've bumped into both Joe Sugg and Zoe Sugg on separate occasions.

Monkeybutt1 · 28/03/2022 08:06

I know Eric Claptons illegitimate daughter, she is a narcissist

blowupthehouseandmove · 28/03/2022 09:03

@SheilaTheGr3at

Yes, I'm good friends with Fish from Marillion and we exchange messages weekly and chat

I realise most of you won't know who this is

OMG ! Love him, seen him live
RockinHorseShit · 28/03/2022 09:08

Yes several, from the American punk musician old friend who I chat with most weeks, to my ex neighbour late 80s/90s pop star who I remained friends with until he turned into a complete arse over Brexshit & covid, to a few actors including an Oscar winner. I worked in fashion & lived in london though & now live in a place popular with celebrities

Timeinabottle · 28/03/2022 09:20

@Slatkater Morning tv?

Gonnagetgoing · 28/03/2022 09:28

I know one of the ex 3am journalists - won't name her - she's a snobby bitch.

I worked with and knew for a bit George Clarke - the architect. Twat.

Gonnagetgoing · 28/03/2022 09:31

My auntie was a very successful 70's model - she was very close friends with Robert Palmer (photos of them together) and probably some others. She said he was lovely, an absolute sweetheart of a man. She started modelling when she was 14/15 so I think he was protective of her.

BloodyloveGeorge · 28/03/2022 09:37

Yes, quite a few well known actors, some very famous, but because I know them I also know that they’re just normal people who do a job that gets them a lot of attention, and generally wouldn’t want their friends gossiping about them on MN or anywhere else

ronjobbins · 28/03/2022 09:40

@LollyPollyPop

I once told Rolf Harris to fuck off, his wife was that shocked that the beads in her hair rattled Does that count?

@wildthingsinthenight oh my lord. You are one of the very few people who I’ve ever spoken to (IRL or online or whatever) who has seen it. I absolutely loved it and am still really moved by it however many years on. And I 100% agree that it hasn’t had anywhere near the recognition it deserves. I’m delighted you feel the same way!

Why has it slipped under the radar?? Such a shame. It is truly fantastic.
I might watch it today now.

That's really lovely, and sadly all too rare from a very exploitative time and industry.
RockinHorseShit · 28/03/2022 10:45

Yes @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g how did you guess. He really didn't like me calling him out on his bullshit 😂

Gonnagetgoing · 28/03/2022 10:48

@SpaghettiNotCourgetti - yes, she was headhunted by her boyfriend (15 years older!) who became her husband but was abusive. It was very exploitative - I don't even want to name some of what her ex-husband did, vile man.

I didn't realise this re Robert Palmer until recently but my auntie got to know him through work and also because he spoke fairly fluent French and she's part French (as am I) and she said - there could've been attraction on his part but says he saw her as more of a younger sister and was, rightly, very protective and gave her some good advice.

Ha ha @MrsElijahMikaelson1 I thinks it's Claudia and I would love to know the answer to that too 🤣

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 28/03/2022 11:26

I used to work with the guy from big brother who shagged Jade Goody while they were in the BB House.

Wouldn't call him a friend though.

A member of my family has some great sporting connections via their job. Their boss who they work closely with (live in role, travel together etc) is pretty famous, has been to a few Olympics, was a household name at one time, lots of people my age had his poster on their wall growing up, has their own range of branded clothing and sports equipment. Not someone you would recognise if you saw them on the street though. Seems a genuinely nice, hardworking guy who hasn't forgotten where he came from and treats his staff well.
