Despite how thin Kate is, her face is lovely and pumped up. I want the name of her doctor! Great work re the fillers.

@WhatATimeToBeAlive

What a spiteful thread. All very backhanded compliments. Ugh.
Nothing back handed here I think she looks lovely And I don’t think any work

What’s the backhanded part?
MsTSwift · 23/03/2022 09:57

Still think it makes zero sense to be born into a particular role. It’s quite cruel. Imagine having to do the same job your parents did (shudder mine teachers). I know he could walk away but look at the fuss if a monarch does that.

The whole concept is outdated and mental. They are I am sure a perfectly nice couple - probably be far happier if he was an estate agent or something.

I think she won the genetic lottery tbh. Carol and Pippa are also very photogenic, and James for that matter.

I can't her as the Botox type..... if it went wrong, she'd be ripped to shreds by the media.

TatianaBis · 23/03/2022 10:02

@Gonnagetgoing

oh I know you. You like to refer to your Italian heritage don't you?

😂 Not Italian. Wrong poster.

ExConstance · 23/03/2022 10:11

She looks lovely - I have no interest in whether she has had botox or fillers. it is very little to do with her face as such but she always looks very healthy, nice teeth and eyebrows. I particularly thought she looked amazing when she was shown playing tennis with Emma Raducanu and was pictured joining in training in her tracksuit with the England rugby team, just very natural and full of fun. I looked at the G-Star skinny combat trousers she was wearing the other day, they would not look very good on me.

trailrunner85 · 23/03/2022 10:16

Not backhanded compliments at all. Yes, she's had work. But yes, she looks great for it.

Threads like this are helpful IMO because it helps inject a bit of realism into what is really behind being extremely thin, yet having a plump and youthful face.
Absolutely no criticism here. I would do the same if I could, and I would certainly do it with her money and the pressure she's under/ exposure she gets.

What's also interesting is that so many posters think it's critical of Kate to point out she's had work done. It's not - just as it's not critical to say she dyes her hair, or she wears makeup. The fact is, "tweakments" such as Botox are very, very, common now, and in celebrity circles you'd be hard pushed to find anyone who's treatment-free over 35.
But for some reason people still associate having work done with the Leslie Ash lips or frozen Courtney Cox face of decades ago. Things have moved on so much since then. And Kate is a good example of how very natural work can still kid people into believing she's had nothing done - even when old photos exist to prove the contrary.

If everyone was a bit more honest about Botox and fillers then I think the scales would fall from people's eyes. But there's still a bit of a stigma attached to it (as this thread proves!) which is why people are still less willing to admit to it than they are willing to admit to, say, having their roots done or their eyelashes tinted.

TheOrigRights · 23/03/2022 10:17

Jesus. Leave her alone. She looks like a normal and healthy woman to me.

Whitney168 · 23/03/2022 10:23

That yellow dress was absolutely fabulous. Not so keen on the red/pink evening one.

Being shallow, am not loving her hair on this tour. I have no clue why this poker straight hair with central parting is so ubiquitous, it looks dreadful on most people and even on the glamorous Kate is nowhere near as nice as her hair is usually.

(In as much as I care about people I don't know, I like Kate and William and think they are very close.)

trailrunner85 · 23/03/2022 10:25

You misunderstand what Botox is like now. With a good practitioner you have it done in minute amounts so it can't really "go wrong." Then you have it topped up if you need more.
Say they accidentally put too much in and she gets a "frozen" face - it wears off fairly quickly anyway. I think people are confusing Botox with surgery of days gone by, where you could end up with a disaster (Meg Ryan springs to mind).
Botox is temporary and is easily tweaked here and there over a number of appointments to get it "just right."

An ordinary person like you or I would have one main appointment and then a follow up for tweaks a couple of weeks later. Then the same 4-6 months down the line when it's totally worn off (sooner if you can afford!)
But the DoC - unlikely. She will more likely have a regular, top of their field, practitioner who gives tiny injections in very specific places when she wants/needs it. One injection can't really result in disaster. She would just be unable to raise her eyebrows if she had a lot in her forehead.

Yes. I'm a bit bemused by people thinking this thread is cruel or vile or whatever, Seems pretty mild and in the main complimentary about Kate. But some people seem incensed at the very suggestion that she'd have any tweakments. As though her strand of celebrity is above that somehow. Letizia of Spain doesn't seem to think so.

LadyEloise1 · 23/03/2022 10:36

I thought she looked different.
She looks great. But different.
I do hope she will know when to stop.
The most beautiful girl in university when I was there, didn't Sad
She went too far and has destroyed her beautiful face.
Another woman I know is married to a plastic surgeon and she too has had too many procedures and destroyed her lovely face.

ToMockAKillingBird · 23/03/2022 10:38

Hmm. There is quite a difference!

Kate Middleton's amazing face!
Halllyup17 · 23/03/2022 10:43

Really? She looks her age, plenty of fine lines. Doesn't look like she's had anything done, and if she has I'd be wanting a refund.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/03/2022 10:46

If I had her money I’d have a live in beautician and hair dresser on top pay. I don’t blame her for wanting to look nice.

There’s no prizes for looking nice or looking rough as fuck but I’d choose looking nice every time.

BingoBungle · 23/03/2022 11:01

I agree with much of what you say, @RonaldMcDonald.

The optics of this tour have been very badly managed, and the video of them snorkelling was particularly ill-judged.

It’s incredibly obvious they’re not very intelligent, and are surrounded by advisors who are equally clueless.

The more concerning thing is why the FCO and government have not managed the wider implications of this crucial tour better. If I were in the Caribbean, I would want to be shot of a quondam ruling power and its embarrassingly awful representatives PDQ.

HomecomingKween · 23/03/2022 11:03

The Jamaican government have announced that they're going to begin the process of removing the Queen as Head of State once this current tour is over.

We're living in different times and the whole things seem so anachronistic. May have worked for a lot of people in the 1950s, not so much know.

BingoBungle · 23/03/2022 11:03

The racist threads are deleted very quickly by Mumsnet, as they should be. Racist abuse is a criminal offence. That said, Harry and Meghan are also jerks, but at least no longer on our payroll.

JuteWeaver · 23/03/2022 11:08

That yellow dress is glorious!

ToMockAKillingBird · 23/03/2022 11:14

I wonder if we'll ever get a say on whether we still want a RF? Even if a political party was elected on an anti monarchy ticket, they then have to swear the Oath of Allegiance before taking their seats. Surely MP's allegiance should be to the people of the country?

Anyway, given their history, I'm glad that Caribbean nations are now starting to remove the Royal HoS. The Royal tour has been a disaster if it's aim was to drum up support for the Monarchy.

LuckySantangelo35 · 23/03/2022 11:27

Botox and fillers. Anyone who thinks she hasn’t is ridiculously naive

Whitney168 · 23/03/2022 11:34

(Being picky as I sit in my grotty joggers and sweatshirt LOL) Not loving the patterned sundress with very formal shoes combo - cork/rope heeled wedges would have been much better if she couldn't go for something a bit more casual.

Mariposa67 · 23/03/2022 11:55

She looks lovely, especially in that yellow dress. Who cares if she's had Botox and fillers? Lots of women do. It's all personal choice. I have Botox and I'm in my 50s. It doesn't get rid of my wrinkles but I look less tired. Fillers aren't for me but I can see why people have them. It must be hard to be in the public eye and be picked apart.

Gonnagetgoing · 23/03/2022 12:01

@LuckySantangelo35

@LuckySantangelo35 - but who cares if she has Botox and fillers?

I think if I were in her position I'd definitely have had it. Her MIL (Diana) didn't have Botox and fillers, she didn't need to really but she probably had lots of other facials etc. Look at Princess Anne, she looks good but she looks her age. I think Kate is thinking, now she's on the public stage for however long her public life continues then she has to and wants to look her best.

I personally couldn't follow her diet to be that slim, it's probably similar to Victoria Beckham's very restricted diet, but I'm guessing has great nutrition advice.

Favourodds · 23/03/2022 12:02

People 'care' for the reasons we've said already - because lots of people still seem to think women in the public eye look like this because they drink lots of water and get 8 hours sleep. It's an unrealistic beauty standard.

I don't 'care' what she does. I just came here to agree that she has a very good doctor and was surprised that anyone doesn't think she gets work.

Also, I don't feel strongly about the royal family in either direction, but she's currently on what looks like a very pleasant holiday which seems to serve no purpose beyond the photos it produces. So we may as well discuss those photos seeing as we paid for yet do not get to enjoy the holiday.
