Thought I’d lighten the mood a little and with an almost free weekend to watch whatever I want due to husband working away wondered if I could ask the most gripping bit of TV or film you’ve ever seen...

I’ve a couple to start us off, The Fall and in particular a scene between Jamie Dorman and Gillian Anderson.

Happy Valley

May I destroy you (I was still processing this for weeks after)

Normal people (just absolutely beautiful)

Give me yours.

Penultimate scene of the last series of Handmaid when Fred Waterford finally gets his just desserts. My cries of "Yes! Yes! Kill the fucker!" had dh nervously backing out of the room..

I love that 2-part episode of early Grey's Anatomy where Meredith sticks her hands inside a patient with a bomb inside. Pink mist anyone?

And the last few minutes of Sharp Objects when Amy Adams' character finds teeth inside her sister's dollhouse...

ER has too many OMG moments to name.

Euphoria has a lot of gripping moments, most recent comes to mind is Fez and Ashtray and the police shootout.

Agree with so many of the above. Just want to add another Mad Men scene when Peggy tells Don she's leaving. I hadn't realised what a good actor Jon Hamm was til then, he goes through all the stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression & acceptance) in about 6 lines of dialogue then he kisses her hand & doesn't let go. It's just beautiful. Elisabeth Moss is brilliant of course, she really is a great actress, but Jon Hamm really surprised me & touched my heart in that scene. And I sobbed very loudly & snottily Grin

I’m halfway through and I cannot believe how good Dopesick is nor that it happened in reality. Incredible and gripping for sure
