Just ate a massive salad...

And I'm full. Never felt more like a Mumsnetter 😂

The true test will be if I eat again later. And how many meals I can make out of a chicken.

What was in it?

Lubeyboobyalt · 17/03/2022 14:20

oh you'll only need half an oat later now, probably tomorrow as well

good luck with the seventy meals from your chicken Wink

ethelredonagoodday · 17/03/2022 14:21

Ha ha ha ha!

Mumdiva99 · 17/03/2022 14:22

Unless it had pasta/chickpeas/lentils/nuts other carb type things in it you will be starving again in 10 minutes. But that's ok because you can start on the never ending chicken.

Nnique · 17/03/2022 14:22

I properly love a massive salad! Grin

But I like all food.

Did it have sufficient protein to keep you going? And was it actually massive? Must fill a whole dinner plate to overflowing IMO.

Beamur · 17/03/2022 14:23

Me too.
Plus a jacket potato and leftover chicken. I think that means I have failed? Although a plus point for the chicken.

JorisBonson · 17/03/2022 14:26

It was genuinely massive and had eggs, salmon and caviar (I'm not posh, I'm in an all inclusive resort 😂) as well as your standard salad fare.

Currently eyeing up DH's chips so this may be a shirt lived affair.

GrinHalo

Newyearnewme2022 · 17/03/2022 14:44

Me too, but not a MN salad, I had half a pork pie and some French bread with mine.

PeeAche2 · 17/03/2022 15:10

I had salad last night. It was a warm tomato, mozzarella and basil salad and it was served on a plate made of bread. Which I also ate.

Pizza. Okay? I had pizza.

dudsville · 17/03/2022 15:14

Annoyingly I was this person on a thread yesterday! It was unintentioanl though, I was trying to work how I get my brain to stop thinking of food all the time when I am actually not hungry, but still I'm sure I came across as a bit of a dick.

Fifipop185 · 17/03/2022 15:19

@Newyearnewme2022 Now that's my kind of salad Grin

NeedleNoodle3 · 17/03/2022 15:26

I’m so looking forward to my 1/16 of a pizza for dinner.

dreammattemousse · 17/03/2022 15:26

Newyear i'm craving a pork pie now

imamumgetmeoutofhere · 17/03/2022 15:31

You forgot to add stretching 500g of minced beef to feed 4 people for 6 meals by adding lentils / oats / other veg Wink

ODFOx · 17/03/2022 15:34

Haha! I nearly posted the same thing on Monday night 😀.
I made a (proper) massive salad that I had to split over 2 serving bowls to toss.
I rather offset the health benefits of all the 7 veggies by adding new potatoes, croutons, cubed chicken, cubed ham, feta and a large handful of grated cheddar.
It fed four of us handsomely for dinner and another two for lunch the next day.

It was probably the most protein heavy meal I've made in the last month!
I forgot to add the hard boiled eggs I'd made so had those for lunch on Wednesday.

Last night DS made bolognese using a full 500g of mince and it only fed 4 of us. In true MN style I'd have used 200g mince and a cup of green lentils for a midweek meal. I have failed as a parent!

Nnique · 17/03/2022 15:37

I’d definitely have the chips @JorisBonson!

@Newyearnewme2022 and @PeeAche2 both of those sound so good right now. Might get DH to make some ciabatta tomorrow! Or I could do pizza...I’ve got prosciutto in the freezer and a jar of olives in the fridge.

Lovemusic33 · 17/03/2022 15:37

I had a large salad from the salad bar at Morrisons…does that count?
It contained a boiled egg, falafel, lettuce, cucumber, potato salad, beetroot salad and some kind of pasta salad.

Nnique · 17/03/2022 15:38

I rather offset the health benefits of all the 7 veggies by adding new potatoes, croutons, cubed chicken, cubed ham, feta and a large handful of grated cheddar.

None of that is unhealthy.

cushioncovers · 17/03/2022 15:38

Op you won't need to eat until tomorrow now. Smile

Caspianberg · 17/03/2022 15:39

I have just prepped ‘large’ salads for dinner later. Not sure they are ‘Massive’.
One cabbage, carrot coleslaw affair
One chickpea, tomato, cucumber, avocado

Served with as many breaded Mozzarella sticks I can fit in the oven Grin

GeneLovesJezebel · 17/03/2022 15:39

You’ll be telling us you think toilet brushes are common next 🤣

ODFOx · 17/03/2022 15:42

True, except croutons which really have no justification except deliciousness. It was more the proportions of fat, protein and carbs to fibre and vitamins by the time I'd combined all the elements. None of us are bodybuilders 😀.
Nnique · 17/03/2022 15:43

Deliciousness is all the justification one needs!!
