Just ate a massive salad...

And I'm full. Never felt more like a Mumsnetter 😂

The true test will be if I eat again later. And how many meals I can make out of a chicken.

Heh. I should really take up bodybuilding...back in my gym days I could eat so much!

JorisBonson · 17/03/2022 15:49

I'm offsetting the salad with several pina coladas. It's all about balance.

Well, I have only eaten a yogurt and an apple today so far, so that automatically makes me better than anyone else on this thread. Grin

Nnique · 17/03/2022 15:54

Yes. Balance is the key to a happy life. 🍹🍹🍹

That's got pineapple and coconut I, so that's 2 of your 5 a day, innit?.

Of course you could follow Elizabeth Hurleys example of eating 6 raisins per day

@NeedleNoodle3

I’m so looking forward to my 1/16 of a pizza for dinner.
😂
RewildingAmbridge · 17/03/2022 16:19

I skipped breakfast and had soup for lunch, a small bowl and didn't finish it. Made me feel like a proper mumsnetter, it's actually just the Covid usually I would've had soup and a sandwich and something to nibble on mid afternoon, having had breakfast and also planning what to have for dinner. Not having a sense of smell or taste is hideous.

Decorbreadthegingerate · 17/03/2022 16:30

Every time I have a Massive Salad™ I get awful heartburn. Proof it should be avoided at all costs.

JorisBonson · 17/03/2022 18:53

Going for dinner soon and still not hungry. I may be a MN cliche!

@PeeAche2

I had salad last night. It was a warm tomato, mozzarella and basil salad and it was served on a plate made of bread. Which I also ate.

Pizza. Okay? I had pizza.

PenguinPup · 17/03/2022 18:58

Well done you. I would be sitting on the toilet all evening if I ate a massive salad for lunch (sorry, tmi I know).

ISpyCobraKai · 17/03/2022 18:59

Unless it was served in a wheelbarrow I don't think it was massive really.
I bet yours was quite a pathetic one served in a bucket.

Insanegotnobrain · 17/03/2022 19:08

Was it this big? I’ve never seen a salad this big before!

I don't want to take away your cliché but I think the quintessential MN massive salad is small enough to make other people say "WTF?" when you call it massive to show how dainty you are.

You'll need to make the chicken last 10 meals and a soup and get stock out of it in order to obtain your cliché back.

ISpyCobraKai · 17/03/2022 19:34

10 meals, is that all?
I bought a baby turkey for Christmas, actually a just hatched chick.
I've eaten turkey for every meal since and I still have some left.

ScrambledSmegs · 17/03/2022 19:59

Surely the MN massive salad is two lettuce leaves, dressing on the side, and half an olive?

And then you can't move because that olive just about finished you off.

TWO lettuce leaves? I mean sure if you wanna pig out....
JorisBonson · 17/03/2022 20:35

Sorry MN, I ate dinner.

I'll do my penance tomorrow with half a lettuce leaf and a sip of water.

Grin Two leaves for a massive salad, one leaf for a huge salad. Skip the olive half and l dreading if you're trying to be healthy. Them's the rules...

ScrambledSmegs · 17/03/2022 20:38

*dressing. Oops

Nnique · 17/03/2022 20:38

@JorisBonson what did you have?

JorisBonson · 17/03/2022 21:22

@Nnique all the tapas!

OP posts:
Hm2020 · 17/03/2022 21:27

What tapas? Over invested now I’ve found this thread can you tell I’m on a diet.

Mumdiva99 · 17/03/2022 21:31

When is a salary not a salad? At what point does it become a meal? How many bits can you add over and above things that are eaten as raw vegetables....and still take the salad title? The classic 2 lettuce leaves and half a cherry tomato obviously. I'll let you have cucmber an peppers......but doesn't the addition of salmon, feta, eggs, roasted squash, nuts etc etc elevate it to something more than a salad?

shinynewapple22 · 17/03/2022 21:39

Ooh I had a really lush salad on holiday recently with smoked salmon, feta cheese, walnuts and figs with a honey dressing . Plus obligatory green stuff .

Where are you staying OP?
